Well done sir, and u wish you success in all your endevour... Am a graduate of human anatomy. Really don't know what to do with my degree as thete are no jobs. Currently doing menial factory jobs(at night) and teaching jobs(during the day) to cater for my two younger ones that are studying medicine and nursing here in kano... I would have loved to go further in my education, but I have to consider my younger ones also since we don't have enough funds. I am all they have got as how parents are late... I still thank God sha.

Go ask them ; many of their junior ones are still being helped by contracted home teachers when they are still idle, doing nothing. It boils down to the fact that, they can't really/successfully prepare their junior ones for common JS 3 (Junior WAEC)

How many application letters have I received from them? The worst comes when you ask them to write it in your presence- It is not about speaking English. That doesn't require a bit of education to come by

I just got my Visa to go to Germany. I am having cold feet making this journey. I have already told my boss I am leaving my current position.

I am yet to tell HR because of this cold feet. I have been in Qatar for 2years now and I think its best I move since I cannot marry and bring wify here.

All my life I’ve held the view that it wasn’t right for anyone to go through their partner’s phone. It’s an invasion of privacy and it breeds mistrust in the relationship but that night, going through her phone was the only way to find out what I was looking for. I started with her best friend. You started building on it, you never told me. When are you going to tell me?” She was shocked. She asked, “Who told you all that?” I said, “Your father did.” She stood quiet for a while. She asked, “Why would my father tell you all that? What were you people talking about” I said, “I don’t know. You can ask him.” 

We left it there. Some minutes later she came to me with her phone: “My father wants to talk to you.” The phone was already on a loudspeaker. His father was clearly angry. He asked, almost shouting, “You said I told you my daughter has a building? Where did I say that and when?” I asked, “Is it not true that my wife has a building project going on that you’re supervising?”  He asked me, “I told you that?” I asked, “Is it true or not?” After the back and forth I told them, “I read your messages last night. I saw the pictures. I read the various budget you had sent to my wife. I read the confirmation of the money receipts that you sent her. You’re a man. Would you be happy if your wife does this to you?” He started fumbling. He started apologizing saying he thought I was aware.”


My wife stood there motionless, didn’t know what to say. When her father hung up, I told her everything I knew, from her salary to the car she bought for her brother. I said, “Yet, even your sanitary pad, I buy them. You think I’m a fool? You’ll use your money to acquire your own properties and live on mine because you’re my wife? I hear. We’ll see.”

Trust was lost. Love was broken. We had to find a new way of living our lives going forward. Her father called me every morning and evening apologizing for everything and sometimes taking up the blame so I didn’t have to blame his daughter. I told him, “The emotional state I’m in right now, it would be hard to think straight or think forgiveness. Just give me space.” Three days later, they were in our house. The father, the mother, and the senior brother. They came to apologize. “Don’t let this break up the beautiful marriage you both have. If nothing at all, consider the kids and be lenient in your judgment.”

I listened to them. My position was still the same. “I need time to clear my mind. Just leave me alone to think.” From last month to this moment that I’m writing this, my wife had changed totally. She doesn’t ask for money but the house is being run smoothly. She has started paying for things she never paid for but that doesn’t move me. She has taught me a very great lesson and I’m taking it seriously. That in everything, I have to look out for myself and my family first. Last she told me, “If you want us to change the names on those properties, we can do so.” Guess whose name is on the property…her father’s name.”

I told her, “You don’t need to change anything. They are yours. You suffered for them so you can decide what you want to do with them.” The land I bought has our names. I’m selling it and take my money back. The car she’s driving has her name. I put a for-sale sticker on it some weeks ago. She agreed she’ll pay for the car. I’ve given her two months to pay up or I sell it and take my money. She’s getting the message and I’m glad. Each one for himself, God for us all. She keeps asking if I’m going to leave her. I keep telling her I won’t but if she wants a divorce, I will gladly give her. I’m not going to leave the marriage. I would give us some time to heal and see what may happen but when it comes to money, I’ve taken the lesson she taught me through her actions.

Let me advice you


Put the money in a fixed deposit for six months where you can't withdraw. Start another set. When it reaches 105k withdraw and add to the 95k. That makes it 200k.

Invest it in a year long business that you can make 200/300k. This means you'll have 400/500k. Then scale up your business activities

It is not corruption if the job is genuine, but you might question the morality of Mr. Richard, but on that point, you might be right or wrong.

Great you mentioned your first job outside Nigeria and Jobs through recruiters. In the western countries e.g. US and UK, this is how recruiters and independent contractors work...they look for a job of e.g. $25.00/hr and pay you $15.00/hr...the rest is their profit and it is legal. The recruitment business works on this model and many individuals who want to run recruitment independent business on the side do it.......Mr. Richard gave the full disclosure and most likely this is his legitimate job i.e. connecting people with jobs, you do not expect him to do it for free.

I think the problem here is the average Nigerian mindset, which beliefs that we can get connections for free....you have to pay monthly fees to sign up on some job sites and you are not even guaranteed a job, you pay to get linkedin premium service to get access to connections and network of people that may link you to your next opportunity.

The bitter truth is, it cost money to make money.....now that the OP has rejected the offer, he has gone from making 50% to 0% monthly, I do not know anyone who will tell you that, that was a wise decision given the fact that he did not have any alternative job at hand.

What stops the Mr Richard from giving him the job without making a greedy demand? Let's learn to call a spade a spade. It is corruption and gross wickedness on his part. I'm sure he has been doing it to many people. No any act of kindness again.
Nigeria is the most religious country in Africa if not even in the entire world but our wicked cannot be compared to the sin of the devil. The white people that some people see as godless people have the fear of God and working conscience in them. For instance, my first job outside Nigeria was gotten for me by a white man without demanding for a dime. And when I need to move on, I got another lucrative job through a white man that is a recruiter. He did not say that I am going to tip him before he will give me the job. And most religious people in Nigeria think they are serving God better than these white people. Smh

I seek job opportunities endlessly, and was glad when Mr. Richard told me he has a job for me via one of his connects. I was so glad.

He mentioned the job was in one of the top 5 star hospitality industry in Lagos. My joy knew no bound when he stated salary is N80,000 with regular tips from guests.



Concluding the phone call, he told me to report to his office by 2PM today if I'm cool with the agreement.

If Mr Richard said pay me #160,000k one time payment and I give you a #80,000k job, will you call him wicked or look for the money ?
Instead he said pay me monthly installment and you are here calling him wicked.
In this Buhari regime that even government employment is for sale. Obviously Mr Richard is no Santa but that doesn't make him wicked
