Nairaland General › Re: What Do You Think Of Nairaland's Garri Peeps? by Timijo(m): 9:25pm On Sep 05, 2012
Djtm: I noticed that almost every thread on NL has a significant amount of 'garri guys & ladies' posting random stuffs about garri. And it seems they're holding a party today because I keep seeing 'this post has been hidden' on a lot of threads that were created today. Also I've been seeing some funny usernames like 'seun_loves_garri', 'bread_for_seun' etc.

So what do you think? Are they (the garri peeps) annoying? Hilarious? Pitiful? You are free to qualify them with any adjective you deem fit.
And how does this affect the price of bread and garri?

Christianity Etc › The Rapture Of The Saints Would Have Taken Place In June 2012. by Timijo(op):
I typed this with a sober reflection.
You may not believe what you are about to read below, but as for me, I thank God that am privilege to hear this.
This is a true life story that happened to couple driving at Emure in Ekiti.

A couple who was driving on the 16th of July 2012 at Emure in Ekiti saw a very old man standing by the road side. The old man pleaded for a free ride but at first, they didn't consider his request b'cos they didn't know whom he was.
After a while, they thought within themselves saying "If we continue to see the wickedness of others, we will not help aoybody again". So, they decided to give him a lift.
Here is the conversation that went on in the car:
Old Man: Are you prepare for the rapture of the saints?
Couple: What sort of question is that?
Old Man: Four weeks ago, the Arch Angel carried the trumpet to blow it, but Jesus blocked it from sounding. He now pleaded that the world should be given more time, b'cos many people are not ready for the Rapture.
Couple: Ha! Baba, who are you?
At this point, the old man disappear.
If you have read this, I plead with you to ammend your ways and get set for the Rapture.
The trumpet can sound at anytime.
I will appreciate it,
Jokes Etc › Chatting With Boko Haram Leader On My BB by Timijo(op): 7:20pm On Sep 01, 2012
I was in a taxi chatting
with my friend on BBM
and
suddenly discovered
that
the man sitting beside
me was
reading my
conversation.
Since i did not want to
embarrass the man,
i decided to change the
topic of the chat; Abeg
oga, please tell Kabiru
Sokoto or Abu Qaqa
that
I only took two of the
bombs we just
manufactured for this
operation. Let them
know
as well that I may find
it difficult to get to the
target place before the
bombs explode because
there is terrible traffic
jam now but
nevertheless,
I am sure casualty
figure will be high since
we are five in our taxi
and all
the vehicles in the
traffic will be affected
too. We have less than
3minutes for the bomb
to go off bye bye and
take care of my parents
and siblings as agreed.
The Man, without
allowing the taxi to stop
quickly
opened the taxi door
and jumped out.
Christianity Etc › People Use My Name To Commit Fraud On Facebook - Pastor E.A Adeboye Speaks by Timijo(op): 11:14pm On Aug 31, 2012
Please be very careful what you easily fall for. There are some persons going around creating false Facebook pages or names, claiming they are Pastor E. A. Adeboye."
General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, PastorE.A. Adeboye, has disclosedthat some people are now impersonating him on social networking site, Facebook.
He said the impersonatorswere fond of demanding money from unsuspecting members of the public andhe (Adeboye) urged peopleto verify the authenticity of messages credited to him before heeding to such instructions.
Daddy GO, as he's fondly called, said "All you have todo is a search for them on Facebook and they will add you and then pretend to be me, telling you to send some money into an account and because they know you will obey me, they are using this as a new form of fraud.
"Please stop them and report those pages to Facebook so they can be stopped.”
Adeboye said a member ofthe church had reported tohim on how he had been ordered by an impersonator to pay certain sums of money into a bank account for a trip to India.

Romance › Some Women And Their Problems, Guys Take Note! by Timijo(op): 9:45am On Aug 31, 2012
If you kiss her, you are not a gentleman
If you do not, you are not a man
If you praise her, she thinks you are lying
If you do not, you are good for nothing
If you agree to likes, she abuses
If you do not, you are not understanding
If you make romance, you are an experienced man
If you do not, you are half a man
If you visit her often, she thinks you are Jobless
If you do not visit her too often, she thinks you are not caring
If you are dressed, she says you are a play-boy
If you do not, you are a dull boy
If you are jealous, she says it is bad
If you do not, she thinks you do not love her
If you attempt a romance, she says you do not respect her
If you do not, she thinks you do not love her
If you are a minute late, she complains it is hard to wait
If she is late, she says that's a lady's way
If you visit another, she accuses you of being a heel
If she is visited by another, she says it's natural.
If you kiss her once in a while, she professes you are cold
If you kiss her too often, she yells that you are taking advantage
If you fail to help her in crossing the street, you lack ethics
If you do, she thinks it is just one of men's tactics
If you stare at other, she accuses you of flirting
If she is stared at by others, she says they are just admiring
If she talks, she wants you to listen
If you listen, she wants you to talk.
CONCLUSION

Food › The effect of quality attributes on price of gari. by Timijo(op):
People are fond of asking this question: "How does this affect the price of garri?" This article provides answer to the question.
This article examines the effect of quality
attributes on price of gari, a major staple processed from cassava roots in Nigeria. The effect of quality on prices is estimated under the hedonic function by means of logit model. Two hundred key informants were interviewed in 94 rural markets visited and 100 wholesale traders were interviewed in a big urban market in Lagos, a major commercial city in Nigeria. The markets that supply gari to Lagos are located in the southeast and southwest zones of Nigeria. Gari prices from the southeast zone were generally lower than prices from the southwest zone even though rural markets in the southwest zone were closer to the urban market. Efficiency in cassava production and the processing of gari in the southeast zone may be important in determining the magnitude of the marketing margins and the price differences. Different colours (yellow or white) also command different prices in the market. The study reveals that yellow
gari commands a better price than white gari. However, certain ethnic groups despite the better nutrition that can be gained when biofortified with vitamin A do not usually prefer yellow gari with coarse texture. There may be need to change producer and consumer preference through sensitisation and capacity building especially in areas were yellow gari is not currently preferred such as in southwest Nigeria. The relative higher price for yellow gari suggests that research on cassava biofortified with β-carotene (which imparts a yellow colour in a natural form) may also help to improve gari prices as well as improve consumer nutrition and shelf life of yellow gari. These results provide further socio-economic justification for research on crop biofortification in developing countries.
Other things that affect the price of garri:
1. When u drink garri in the morning, afternoon and night.
2. When u drink garri for lunch and put tooth pick in your mouth as if u are coming from 5star hotel.
3. When u make eba inside a paint rubber to consume.
4. When u use eba to mould your birthday or wedding cake.
5. When u offer your babe garri and hide the engagement ring inside. These are just my personal opinion. You can add yours.
