Inec registers political parties not churches or mosques or conscience. You cannot dictate what will happen within a political party from outside it. Create a political party based on your morals, work towards attaining power based on your morals. No one is holding you back.

When it’s time for election, inec will not search people’s conscience for the best candidates. Inec will only acknowledge candidates through political parties. To be a registered political party requires work not talk. To be the recognized candidate requires work not talk. To win an election requires work not talk. It’s easy to pay lip service, what are you doing to ensure the right candidate is nominated?

Leadership shouldn't be about “turns” but about capabilities but unfortunately people only care about winning an election and that is why u see so many of them taunting others while they themselves are hungry and feeling the pains of the maladministration.

Leadership isn’t about turn but politics is. To become a leader of a political entity especially a ‘democracy’ you have to believe in turns. We can try to be moral about it or be realistic about it. You can have all the best characteristics of a good leader and be in your corner of Nigeria, no one will place you in position of power. You get there by virtue of your contribution to the politics especially via political party participation.

When you know your contribution to your party in its quest to attain power, you can tell wether it’s your turn or not. Tinubu knew he had been the bread winner for APC all along he knew it was his turn to be their flag bearer. You can blame those who voted him as much as you like, to pretend like there is no turn in leadership is hypocritical. Part of Ojukwu’s quarrel with Gowon was that it wasn’t ‘Gowon’s turn’ as he wasn’t the most senior officer in the military.

If you want a better Nigeria, ensure it is the turn of someone with good leadership characters. When riff Raffs do the ground work and pay all the dues in political parties, who do you think will be candidates? The same ruff raffs or intellectuals from Nairaland comments?
