You are obviously not aware that the only mass shootings you hear about in the news are the very few ones where there was nobody armed with a gun to stop the shooter until a relatively long time before police arrives and stops the shooter. There are far more cases where an armed citizen quickly springs to action to confront a shooter before many people are killed, but you will almost never hear such cases reported by the mainstream media you listen to.

The reason The American constitution empowers every law-abiding adult to carry a gun if they wish to is so that the citizens can easily form an armed militia to confront the government if the government of the day becomes a Tyranny that oppresses its citizens. The reason why what Fulani Herdsmen are doing in Nigeria cannot happen in America is because everybody who is an adult is a potential gun owner, and you cannot go shoot up a church or school without almost signing your own death warrant.

Does it occur to you that if the government decides to ban guns in America today, it will only increase the crime rate because all the law-abiding citizens will probably hand their guns over to the government but the criminals will never do so, which means you have just created a society where the guns now switch from the hands of everybody to only the hands of criminals. Have you asked yourself why America still has the largest volume of hard drugs trafficking in the whole world despite the fact that hard drugs were banned over 50years ago and they have some of the most advanced technologies to track drug trafficking? If banning drugs didn't stop thousands of drug traffickers from continuing to supply hard drugs on the streets of America, then what makes you think banning guns will make criminals to stop killing or committing crimes with guns?
