Covid19 has killed about 1500 in Africa so far, malaria kills around 400,000 a year in Africa . Looking at the numbers monthly shows why there should not be a lockdown. Africa should stop blindly following Europe and us.
jln115: As a white dude I have to tread lightly bro Got told Im a racist for saying I considered Boer people indigenous South Africans on another forum!
thus me saying this wasn't a racist incident or something in that line, might be interpreted the wrong way!
What you said was not racist just stupid, it not your fault you couldn’t figure it out, I’d say blame your parents but they are probably dumber than you are
According to cdc data heart attack and cancer have killed more people in the us than covid so all those hyped up news reports are garbage. Gives politicians tv time
Sizzorkay: Poverty is an excuse, it's not a cure. Go to Europe, are those being recruited to become terrorists living in poverty? The rich Nigerian kid who almost blew up an aircraft in the US, was he also living in poverty? PhD Holders, US soldier, Engineering student, the list goes on and on. Please. Bunch of people here in the US have been arrested for trying to carry out attacks on behalf of terrorists, and they aren't living in poverty either.
True but the numbers are few, a handful in a population of millions. BH is an army
It might be cheaper to solve poverty than fight it out with insurgents. This like building schools, roads using pavers instead of tarmac because it requires manual labor, large scale irrigation, teaching youth how to code, building drones.....
When Africa buys weapons in Russia the money goes to people like this
If African countries can produce PPE then they should probably switch from trying to make tanks and mraps to tractors, large scale irrigation sprinklers, farm machines .... it would be a shame to go back to importing. Why spend millions on defense and the money will go to Europe.
There is no military solution to BokoH. The problem is poverty. Solving poverty eliminates all kinds of problems country wide
If anyone living in a developed country knows of anyone working in a hospital ask them how many people they have seen come in with covid symptoms or are infected. They will tell you that they are near zero. Better yet drive by a hospital and see if its as bad as is been portrayed in the news.
The problem is the modeling software that western governments are using to guide decision makers and control of people.(Marshal law test run) Most people are not questioning what they are being told by the media or going to see for themselves what is happening
BlackBaron: Dude, wake up. A virus that's potentially airborne killing young, old, extremely fit to unhealthy is not something to look the other way. 14000+ dead in Italy alone and you're here asking Africans to ignore it.
When shite hits the fan, which countries would give a toss about Africa?!
Let’s wait and see, you will be apologizing and telling how amazed you are at my foresight
Considering the number of people who die in the world daily the current pandemic is not as serious as it is being portrayed in the news. I hope Africa can run the numbers and stop curfews and lockdowns and let people work.
For years Africa has been blindly following what happens in the west. They have their own reasons for locking down which have nothing to do with the virus.
It is possible for Africa to use the current pandemic to grow economically. If countries could start public work projects to build water mains, sewer lines and treatment plants, public restrooms and bath houses,...using only local construction companies- manual labor (ban large and foreign owned firms). The large unemployed population should be viewed as a resource not a potential threat.
Also the virus can easily be weaponized by binding it with a germ like staph creating an organism that is immune to antiviral and bacterial medicines, an apocalyptical world ending diseases giving Africa MAD leverage
Sizzorkay: Wetin man go do now, if this darn virus no subside, we might be on lock down for 2 months lol, na riot be that
Africa should not lock down like china, Europe, or us its people are too poor and cant lock down and stock up food, if a mandatory quarantine is imposed more people will die from hunger, crime, ethnic violence ,... than the virus. wives will have a lot of bruises
Stargate254: They all should actually. Infact if anyone wants to survive future epidemics, better make sure your country's CDC equivalent has all the resources they need to be able to volunteer for these kinds of things wherever the outbreaks pop out, not only to help out but to also learn some serious lessons about what to do and what not to do during a deadly epidemic... African countries are more vulnerable because of poor health infrustructure, we don't even have labs that can quickly produce a vaccine even if a cure for corrona was discovered today! Therefore our medical experts need all the experience they can get.... One day in the future there is going to a big one, a global pandemic that kills like 50% of every infected person and you die very slowly, like 30 days later so all hospitals will be full and every country will be busy recalling all their doctors back home to contain the situation, the likes of WHO would be too stretched out... And there will be no big brother to help out, will our health systems be strong enough to survive or are we going to have anarchy and people breaking into supermarkets and stocking up food cause they think it's the end of civilization and they got to be prepaied. ( Or maybe I have just been watching alot of movies)
Stargate254: Tension between newly re-elected Jubaland state government and Somali's central Government seem to have escalated to a new level today, Reports coming in say SNA (Somali National Army) has launched an attack on Jubaland army positions near the Kenyan border town of Mandera.
What happened to the border wall? It is foreseeable that a stable Somalia will one instigate a referendum in the northern part of Kenya for them to join

At least 34 Turkish soldiers killed in air strike in Syria's Idlib, watchdog says
At least 34 Turkish soldiers were killed in air strikes in Syria's Idlib on Thursday, the Syrian Observatory, a war monitor, reported.
An earlier account by the local governor in the southeastern province of Hatay, Rahmi Dogan, said nine soldiers died in the bombardment. Dogan said the wounded soldiers were brought to hospitals in Turkey.
the situation might be escalating. I think Ethiopia and Algeria are users of this air defense system that seems not to be able to defend itself
One of the criticisms is that Nigeria exports oil only to import the same oil back again because it cannot refined enough for domestic needs. Why spend million on defense instead of building the economy first
Sizzorkay: the way they dress so casually is even funnier, these guys dey wear wrapper and dress, with some slippers and still hard to beat them, haha, priceless. I say they have heart, this is what every citizen in all countries should do, don't just accept an occupation of your land, fight and fight, they can't kill you all, and they can't nuke ya either. regardless of what these guys stand for, the Saudis and it's useless backers have no business being in Yemen
the Saudi performance in that war has been pathetic, if it wasn't for mercenaries the houthis would be in Riyadh
