lastpage: A better measure of the price would have been to ally it with the "purchasing or average income" of the users! Why did you say you earn N2000 monthly whereas the American makes $200? Why? |
PAGAN 9JA:The sun is a ball of Hydrogen, Helium and some other gases undergoing nuclear fusion. Chemical reactions. That is what you worship? What about the maker of that sun? And other greater things? |
WildChild00: May her soul rest in peace, but be that as it may be, the security attached to her should be arrested, perhaps he may know/ lead the law enforcement agents to details on her Mrs. Ijoma was killed. If he had a hand in her death, he wouldn't have remained in that vicinity three days after she had been murdered. |
SimonAndal:Telling who? |
Without prejudice to anyone, my common sense pressured me to ask this question: Why should someone who is not eligible for a particular service attempt to secure free access to that service? Good morning. |
Preceedo: Are you posting this while the church service is on? Coz checking the time, you should be in church by now. You condemn others of gossiping while you too are here gossipping, talking about others at their back. Have you ever called any and advice? This is what she said: Ms_Steph: I was in church and noticed that a lot of people where not paying attention and I noticed some odd thingMeaning she had left the church as at the time she posted. |
Godson201333: Where is a Austria....A lovely tiny nation sharing Border with Switzerland...A country full of wealth. And the homeland of Adolph Hitler. ![]() |
babyosisi: The Nigerians looking to emigrate are usually college graduates not drug addicts and drunksThis is what I'd been asking for all along. |
anonimi: He has chosen to mainly present the gloomy side to balance out the "success stories" and "happy pictures" that many others have chosen to present. The objective has been made clearer. I understand now. Thank you. |
ozo_emeka: smh. Are NLers above 7? It feels like I literally need to spell outDude I know what to filter out when I watch TV. Not everyone is a dumb sponge. |
anonimi: He does not need to recant and I believe he has replied that he is not recanting. The "glossed up" images I am aware of, are the flashy cars, houses and cash being thrown around when those Nigerians come home during holidays. Are they all fake? Aren't there much successful Nigerians in the US? And must you be born there or have parents wealthy enough to sponsor you to Ivy League colleges before you can really make it there? |
Tinyemeka: OP didn't say "Don't come". He meant "Prepare your mind. These are things you might see when you come" They are two different things. However, @Ozo Emeka, I must admit that if your intent was to show the true picture of things in the US, then your attempt was a biased one. The opening pages of this thread were filled with pictures of ghettos and the severe gaps between the affluent and the homeless, obviously living side by side. You said the US is not all about gloom and doom. Where are the success stories? The happy pictures (and I am not talking literarily)? Where is the balance you talk about? |
bootlegaz: Blacks are crab in a Bucket. You will never hear Mexicans tell their fellow country men not to come to the United States or go back to their country cos they are not documented, what you will see are their relatives and friends carry placard to protest and defend the rights of the Illegal ones here, meanwhile Nigerians call immigration or discourage their relatives from taking advantage of the social system. Thread of such gives a basic understanding of why black race is bottom of the poo in America when it comes to net income and standard of livingOP didn't say "Don't come". He meant "Prepare your mind. These are things you might see when you come" They are two different things. |
ozo_emeka: The US is not "DREARY". There is no GLOOM. This thread like I have said 10000000000000000 times is simply about a BALANCE.There is. Balance you say. So there has to be a the good and the not good side. Are you trying to recant? |
ozo_emeka: I work also, if that satisfies you. Next suggestion?Question: If the US is this dreary and challenging as being portrayed, do you ever get any feeling impending frustration, doom after graduation? Or being an Ivy-Leaguer is sure guarantee of a planned and secured career? Do you sometimes habour any thought of emmigrating? Just asking. |
god_of_music: I've been following this thread with a wise mind-set, I read what the OP has written and I got the cents, authomatically this man has contributed to my life and I am not gonna forget what I have learnt from him so far.Dude I no know say you dey make sense sometimes. That's when you aren't being mischievously silly. ![]() |
Pasca07: If u are not well connected in nigeria there is nothing for u.Big lie! |
kpolli: You couldn't survive in Nigeria yet you claim every Nigerian has hustling mentality; they can live anywhere.....My brother that is the irony of that argument. How then is that person planning on making it abroad if not through criminal means? |
Afam4eva: A car washerman in Nigeria probably eats agege bread and akara everyday and does not have the luxury of eating what his mate in America eats or live where his mates elsewhere live. Some of them squat with people whilw those that are lucky live in run down face-me-i-slap-you apartment where Spyrogira is used as lawn and where diseases are distributted evenly which takes them toAll the comments you posted so far from the begining of the thread made no sense to me and you tended to bend the truth at several points to support your assertion. In your own view, it is definitely easier to survive and make it in the US than in Nigeria. Is that what you are saying? Or did I not get you correctly? |
marvelling: Not by the local farmers! Duh!What exactly are you saying? |
peteonline: Full specifications of the all new Tecno Phantom AII Android device:Screen size? |
Policewoman: 5kg for the whole semester Bia nwanyi a. |
marvelling: Don't know about you, but it looks genetically engineered to me.Genetic engineering! By a local farmer? With access to PCR gel, polymerases and other enzymes ba? |
tender92: True story of Nigerian PoliceHmmm... |
Trying to picture how someone would break the safe of an ATM without drawing the attention of the security and MoPol on duty. Youtube my foot. So many things do not add up in the story. So many withheld details. |
koolet: Tom clancys ghost recon. mission imposible.... He died but his work liveth.....I guess his ghost is on a reconnaissance of this thread as we speak. Ghost Mode tins! With respect to the topic, the news of his death came to me as a shock naturally. Unfortunately, this was somewhat dampened to an extent. While in sch, Clancy was my favourite favouritest author! I used to dump my materials to read any new Clancy novel I laid hands on. And this was during exam periods. But as I grew older and my interests widened to include other genres and authors, I somewhat came to the conclusion that Clancy was extremely biased in his writings and ultra-right wing American in his views which also influenced his works. Also, the books tended to delve excessively into too much technical details and plots that would eventually leave most readers "overwhelmed", cause them to lose interest towards the middle of the book, then jump to the concluding chapters in order to get done with the book - compare this with Grisham's narration of courtroom sessions (The Runaway Jury), how he describes spending money to sound like comic fun (The Firm, King of Torts), etc - then you might get a picture of what I am trying to say about Clancy. I don't know if it was his collaboration with Steve Pieczenik et al and the other ghost writers that led to this. I stopped reading Clancy around 2007. Grisham, Dan Brown and Stephen King stole me heart ever since. My personal views though. This does not diminish the fact that the world has suddenly lost of of her best and most prolific of modern day authors. He will be greatly missed, but I forsee several best-sellers that will still be published in due course under his name. Tom Clancy was a great author. |
