Health › Why Are Ebola Health Workers Collapsing? Is This Y? by tobechi20(op): 11:21pm On Aug 06, 2014
Dr. Oliver Johnson describes working in protective gear

‘We would like to keep a [patient] visit between 45 minutes and one hour, but now, we’re stretching it to almost two hours. We put ourselves through a very strong physiological stress when we’re using personal protection gear.'”

“‘We sweat, we’re losing water; we’re getting hotter and it wreaks havoc on the body. Our own endurance starts to wear down.'”

Getting the picture? Imagine losing five quarts of water from your body in an hour. While you’re trapped inside a bulky hazmat suit. While you’re treating a patient who, for example, wants to do everything he can to escape the clinic

.
Imagine needing two hours after you climb out of your suit to rehydrate. Then you go back for more. Of course you also decontaminate yourself with toxic chemicals, including chlorine.

And as one doctor mentioned above, you’re also inhaling chlorine, a highly toxic compound, while you’re inside the hazmat suit, and while you’re approaching shock from loss of all those body fluids.

And then, imagine, because you want to treat as many patients as possible, you don’t do just one hour at a time inside the hazmat torture, you expand the time to two hours. How many quarts of body fluid do you then lose in one shift?

But of course, this has absolutely nothing to do with why you might fall ill. No. If you fall ill, or collapse, or suddenly die, it’s Ebola.
Sure it is.

Family › Never Say "Rape" In Presence Of A Lady by tobechi20(op): 5:07pm On Jul 28, 2014
Words are powerful. Words evoke emotion. They take you to a time or place, they jog your memory, they bring back sights, smells, tastes. What if a word that brought back a bad memory, a traumatic experience, was tossed around casually? What if nearly everywhere you went, you heard this word? And you just couldn’t escape it

230 high school girls in Nigeria were kidnapped by Boko Haram. Depending on what you read, some escaped, some were forcefully married, some were taken across the border, and some … well … we don’t know what happened to them. What is STILL happening to them. And their families are driving themselves crazy thinking about it, wondering about it, imagining what is being done to these girls.

. So it’s not just their bodies being broken. Their minds are being broken too. In addition to what is being done to them, they are questioning where their God is, where their government is, why they ever bothered going to school.

You see, rape ISN’T just a word. It’s a weapon. And every time someone uses it lightly, it evokes the entire experience. When a woman is walking in a wide street in broad daylight, and a man cat-calls her, and she ignores him, and he causally says how he will rape her, it isn’t just a word. It’s a memory of the torture she went through. And it’s enough to take her out of that bright street and into the hell that was her rape. She may be standing there safe and sound, but in her mind, she’s back in the worst place and time of her life.

Okay. Now, at what point do you take your spouse to court for refusing to sleep with you? How does that conversation even begin? And even if you DID take them to court, would you really want to be in bed with someone who’s only there via court order? Wouldn’t that take some of the enjoyment away?

Also, where’s your pride? Wouldn’t it be just a *little bit* embarrassing explaining to a judge, lawyers, and witnesses that you’ve gathered them all in that serious-looking courtroom because you’re not getting any? Wouldn’t it be easier to bribe, charm, or entice your spouse into bed with gifts, cash, or porn?
But then again, maybe it’s just me. I don’t see anyone else complaining or even remarking over that particular sentence. Maybe for the rest of the population, it’s perfectly okay to get a court order that demands marital sex. After all, wasn’t that the reasoning behind the Mututho Law

PastorOluT: Hmm, testing my sincerity? U definitely know this won't work 'cos ur summation would only be based on my agreement or disagreement with u, bt i will oblige u anyways n leave others to judge us both.

My tot on catholism; I believe, though from history, that it was the only church there was then n it started well, bt when the papacy started ursurping the sovereign authority then things started getting out of hand. Then anyone n everyone that goes contrary to the church govt was termed heretic n burned in the stake, anyways that's a can of worm no one wants to open.

But along the line idolatry came in, whereby saints are being venerated n statues erected in their honor taking the place of Christ n Holy Ghost, also Mary became more important than Christ n prayers must pass thru her for it to be legitimate. The bible no longer became the final authority bt some several other write ups by the popes n some peeps with some oral traditions passed down.

There is so much to say bt let me stop here, now its not like i don't see faithful practicing Catholics as xtians, at least the sincere ones 'cos i have met quite a few n they are good people. Bt this doesn't change all those unscriptural doctrines practiced in the church which are detrimental to the soul.

U asked for my opinion n I sincerely gave (though few) what I think n know about catholism which not just me bt many.

So u judge my sincerity according to ow I agree with u? Bt remember this is a public forum n many are reading our posts.
SMH,YOU TALK ABOUT HHISTORY AS IF DEM DON BORN YOU THEN, YOU NEVER WITHNESSED HOW "CATHOLICS BURNT DOWN HERETICS".
YOU SIMPLY BELIVED IT BECAUSE YOUR PROTESTANT PASTORS TOLD YOU THOSE TALES TO PAINT CATHOLICCS BLACK AND YOU HURRIDLY BELIVED IT .

BTW, the Christians that deny miracles, etc, are deist.
there are many atheist who belive in devils, ghost, and spirits but not in any creator of the universe.

There are also functional theist-christian who belive in jesus and christian god but not in baptism, speaking in tongues and other religious practices.

Wrong, deist are those who belive in mulitple gods
Christianity Etc › Re: Types Of Atheist. Which Group Do You Belong? by tobechi20(op): 8:00pm On Jul 20, 2014
Christian atheists.Robertson used the illustration of Justin Martyr here where he proposed that Christians are atheists with respect to other gods e.g. Thor, Ra, but not to the god of the Bible. He said that he wouldn’t go ‘one god further’ [I've pointed out elsewhere that there is an enormous difference between monotheism and atheism.]
So what kind of atheist are you? Do you agree with Robertson’s categories? If not, how would you describe the different atheists out there (and there are very different types)?
Christianity Etc › Re: Types Of Atheist. Which Group Do You Belong? by tobechi20(op): 7:58pm On Jul 20, 2014
Agnostic atheists. These are people who just don’t know if god exists or not, they they claim there isn’t enough evidence. Robertson divided this group into two types:
a) Ignorant, b) Intelligent.
The key difference between the two is that the ignorant haven’t really done any serious investigation into the question. Robertson suggested that those serious about investigating the question ‘is there a god?’ s
Christianity Etc › Re: Types Of Atheist. Which Group Do You Belong? by tobechi20(op): 7:56pm On Jul 20, 2014
New Fundamentalist atheists. He said that this group don’t like this term. But these people are akin to ontological atheists – they genuinely believe that there really is no god. This particular group have reacted to the ‘God is alive’ movement. This group are intellectually elitist i.e. that intelligent people progress to be atheist. They claim that science has disproved god and get angry when you challenge them. These are the people who are likely to follow people like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. Robertson proposed that this group claim, ‘there is no god and I hate him’. He confided that many in this group have had a religious background but have been exploited or abused.
Christianity Etc › Types Of Atheist. Which Group Do You Belong? by tobechi20(op): 7:55pm On Jul 20, 2014
it’s difficult to lump atheists together. Nonetheless, to understand the various types of non-belief Robertson grouped atheists into four main groups:

1. Functional atheists. This is most people (and the largest group of atheists). These are people who believe in some kind of god or power yet it makes no difference to their lives at all. They live ‘functionally’ as if god didn’t exist.
[I think this is the group where liberal Christians belong, i.e. 'Christians' who accept something of the Christian message, but deny miracles or resurrection of Jesus. Their manifestation of 'god' does change their lives in some way (usually mystically), but they deny any supernatural (any external, ontological, transforming power), hence remain functionally atheist.]

Romance › Hairy Or Hairless Girls by tobechi20(op):
Interview most random man out there, they will tell you their dream woman is hairless. They may not say it directly to you but this day and age, the idea of a hairy woman is unthinkable. It’s a deal breaker to most people and the talk of the crowd if a celebrity has hairy legs. Why are we so obsessed with being smooth? Why are women told to stop their hair from growing in order to look attractive and appealing? Does the sight of a sexy body with hair upset the eyesight so much?

People will tell you it’s because we have evolved from cavemen and do not need to allow so much hair grow. I would accept this theory of course, if only the same could be said for men. Men are allowed to keep all the underarm hair, pubic hair, leg hair and etc they want to keep. Now when I say allowed, . So women are struggling and getting ingrown hairs from shaving, waxing, teasing and plucking to remain smooth while men are allowed to be as hairy as they please? I call BULLSHIT.

when your boyfriend or spouse starts suggesting you shave or wax while he himself is hairy, please do call BULLSHIT. . That shit is painful!
Baby girls, if he wants you to be a certain way, he should try to be that way as well. Either you are both hairless or both with hair, he should pick one. Equality may still be down the road, but t we will get there steps at a time.

women killing themselves to be hairless while men relax and grow all the hair they want. Ladies, if you are happy keeping up the waxing appointments for him, that’s fine. If you are unhappy however and want to grow it out, feel free. Thou shalt not let a man with hairs tell you where to shave. Never.

sincerelyherz.

If Allah doesn’t love me, I would have a job now.

If Allah doesn’t love me, I wouldn’t be able to feel what’s it like, being a job seeker.

If Allah doesn’t love me, I would feel arrogant andcomplete.I would use my qualification as reason to show my success towards those who are unemployed.

If Allah doesn’t love me, I would leave my parent’s house at the early age and left them with my siblings as that was my initial thoughts when I was still an undergraduate. But Allah guided me and guides me. He took away any job vacancy in the government sector and gave it to those who needed the post more than I do.

If Allah doesn’t love me, I wouldn’t understand the world of commercialization, advertisement, economic scale and marketing.

Being a job seeker for the past 3 years have taught me on how to survive and learn to extract money from people.

If Allah doesn’t love me, I would never have gotten to touch the abundance of profits laying in the world of business.

If Allah doesn’t love me, I would be lazy and just wait for the usual monthly salaries and the upcoming bonuses once or twice a year.
If Allah doesn’t love me, I would forever be the slave for the government.

But all these never happened because Allah Loves me
