PRNigeria gathered that the terrorists dressed in army uniforms had ambushed and opened fire at a Mobile Police Force convoy who were returning from Buni Yadi between Auno- Garin Kuturu in Kaga Local Government Area.

The terrorist had killed one policeman and seized a police vehicle when a distress call was sent to the Nigerian military for a swift response.

A top intelligence officer said air component and ground troops were promptly mobilised to execute the operation.

The source said: “After receiving a distress call on the incident, a NAF MI-35M helicopter was dispatched to the location and engaged the terrorists.

“In the engagement that ensued, the three gun trucks were successfully destroyed alongside most of its occupants. Other fleeing terrorists were also cornered and eliminated by ground troops of the Nigerian Army.

“The response was well-coordinated between the Air Task Force Command, troops of 212 and 73 Battalion from Sector 1 as well as additional troops from 134 Task Force and 199 Battalion who went on the pursuit of the terrorists and eliminated fleeing terrorists at Malam Fantari village.

“At 28 mangled bodies of terrorists have been counted after the encounter”.

NAF Spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, when contacted confirmed the attack and attributed recent successes against ISWAP-Boko Haram and bandits in the North West to renewed synergy and jointness exhibited by the air and ground components of Operation Hadin Kai and Operation Hadarin Daji.

He also called on Nigerians to continue to support the military and indeed all security agencies as they join hands to rid the Northeast and indeed all other parts of the country of criminal elements.

Can the Nigerian military fight in a far distance country like the US military is doing? Nigeria have been struggling at her backyard for years, you're here using the war the Americans are fighting in far away Afghanistan to console yourself grin

Abeg make una stop this comparison jawe grin

Is just like comparing Milo to peak milk grin

The Talibans were in control of Afghanistan before the American came in.
Distance isn't a barrier for the US they can move twice the size of the entire army Of Nigeria to the door step of Afghanistan with ease. So distance isn't the issue
Now not only the US is present in Afghanistan to fight Taliban but Germany,Italy,UK

They all invaded the country for a reason to possibly end Taliban, did they achieve nope!!
They've began pulling out troops, now Taliban is stepping out attacks,
Comparing it with us we've managed to push them out of their major strong holds, multiple suicide bombing has ended infact, redevelopment is coming back to NE.
It took us a long time but we've literally performed very well compared to the US in terms of COIN

He affirmed that the military had been reassessing its operational engagement on regular basis to improve the security of the Country. In the same vein, the CDS has called on Nigerians to be more united for the strength and progress of the Country. He made this call in Ibadan while unveiling Nigeria’s biggest flag, which covers an area of 3,275.6 square metres; a length of 75.3 metres and a width of 43.5 metres. The new flag was facilitated by Mr Babajide Ogunsanwo. The designer of the Nigerian flag, Pa Taiwo Akinkumi was in attendance.

The exercise which was hitch free was conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council and the Small and Medium Development Agency.

19. Ladies and gentlemen, once again, we assure Nigerians that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will not relent in its effort to fight all forms of criminalities until relative peace is returned to our dear Country. We will continue to intensify our operational efforts to deny criminals freedom of operation and will remain resolute to take decisive and adequate actions to abate all forms of criminalities and other vices in the Country. The Military High Command lauds the efforts of the troops for keeping up the tempo and encourages the general public to support our efforts by providing credible and timely information that will facilitate our proactive engagements.

20. Once again, I thank you and God bless.

Boko Haram, an Islamic extremist group, has tried to take over the Nigerian Air Force base in Kaduna on Saturday morning, FIJ has learnt.

An Air Force offiicial told FIJ that as of 6 am on Saturday, a gunfight between the terrorists and military personnel that lasted for close to two hours was ongoing. The terrorists had attacked the base from the back side. The Air Force base, which is large in expanse, is susceptible to being porous.

This attack comes two days after herdsmen went to a Nigerian Army barracks in Jaji, Kaduna, and stole cows. It is unconfirmed whether there were human casualties, but sporadic shootings were reported.

NO ATTEMPTED ATTACK ON NAF BASE KADUNA

Merchants of fake news are at it again. This time around, their focus is on the premier Nigerian Air Force Base at Kaduna, which they claimed came under terrorist attack in the early hours of today, 26 June 2021. Members of the public should please disregard the news as it is entirely false. There was nothing of such as the inhabitants of the entire Base are going about their normal activities and duties without any threat whatsoever.
