are the parts of these drones completely made in Nigeria, or they are imported and then coupled in the country? and can we now move away from what i think is a bit mediocre for us now since we developed the gulma and the Amebos, and move into something more advance now?
it's not an indigenous drone..
I've forgotten the name of the company that produces it

The gallant troops of Operation SAHEL SANITY have continued to record credible achievements in their quest to rid the entire North-West zone of banditry, cattle rustling, kidnapping and other sundry criminalities.
On 18 Jul 20 Troops deployed at Gundumi in Isah LGA of Sokoto State arrested 2 suspected bandits namely, Marti Abdullahi and Abdullahi Muazu following reliable information of their involvement in acts of banditry. Also, same day on 18 Jul 20 while on clearance patrol at Teke Mai Filoti village in Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State troops arrested 2 notorious bandits namely Gabbe Muhammadu and Muhammad Bello known for involvement in kidnapping and robbery activities.
Similarly, on 18 July 2020, troops deployed at Nahuta village in Batsari LGA of Katsina State arrested 2 bandits namely Mohammed Lawal and Useni Abubakar who were identified by locals to have carried out several attacks in Nahuta village at various times.
In another development, the gallant troops also arrested 2 suspected bandits at Yar Tasha village. While in custody, one of the suspects’ phone line received a call from other suspected bandits urging him to quickly meet up with them for an impending attack. Efforts are currently on to track and arrest the callers. Meanwhile, all arrested suspects are currently in custody undergoing investigation.
Additionally, on 19 July 2020, troops deployed at Forward Operating Base Wanke swiftly responded to a distress call on bandits rustling activities in the area, however, bandits fled on information that troops were closing in on them. Nevertheless, the resilient troops exploited and recovered 20 cows rustled by the bandits in the process.
Furthermore, troops deployed at Funtua responded to a distress call on armed bandits activities in Kankara LGA, went in pursuit of the fleeing bandits and recovered 8 cows which were subsequently handed over to the owners.
Similarly, troops responded to a distress call at Unguwar Tabo where armed bandits invaded and kidnapped one Nuhu Gambo. The victim escaped as the bandits abandoned him and fled due to the troops’ unabating pursuit. Also, on 22 July 2020 troops of Forward Operating Base Bingi acting on credible information of armed bandits activities around Ragwada Forest under Maru LGA stormed a bandits hideout in the area. Bandits fled the hideout abandoning 3 motorcycles which were recovered by the troops.
Additionally, on 22 July 2020 responding on a distress call from locals at Zauni village in Magami district of Gusau LGA of Zamfara State on the invasion by bandits in the town and rustling of cows, troops swiftly mobilised to the area and went in pursuit of the bandits. In the ensuing encounter the bandits fled in disarray, troops recovered 25 cows which had been handed over to the owners.
Similarly, on 22 July 2020 troops on clearance patrol at Mara Runka came in contact with bandits who opened fire on them from afar and the valiant troops responded forcing the bandits to flee with possible gunshot wounds abandoning 5 motorcycles. Nevertheless the resilient troops pursued and arrested 2 of the fleeing bandits. Items recovered from them include one black bag containing charms and the sum of one thousand six hundred and fifty Naira (N1,650.00) only.
Troops of Operation SAHEL SANITY are presently dominating the general area with aggressive patrols and ambushes paving way for smooth conduct of agricultural and economic activities by the locals.
Consequently, the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai commended the troops for their gallantry and resilience in the ongoing operation. He urges them not to rest on their oars but build on the successes so far achieved. He further assured the people of the North-West zone of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to the safety of lives and properties within the zone.

No be lie!!!

Today a Journalist on a political program on TVC(JH) said KPIs(Key performance Index) should be set for service Chiefs so that we will have bearing and know if we are making progress or not and also justifying whatever the military is getting.
Again we've said similar things on this thread, for me the problem isn't really the military it is the political class that is frustrating efforts at defeating the insurgents.
By the time Bokoharam strike Abuja one or two times all man go wake up, that money they say they don't have will come out by force. I still feel Bokoharam deliberately restricted their operations in the northeast partly to concentrate their firepower in their strongholds, while giving the guys at Abuja a false sense of safety. If they decide to detonate an IED today at Abuja they will do so effortlessly. Possibly they don't want to disturb the politicians and those that matters so that the military will continue to be in a beggarly state.
How can one justify the fact that it was just last week that army got the money they budgeted for 2020(after 7 months) most of which is even recurrent expenditure.
Nigeria is not yet serious in tackling insecurity.
you can imagine.. if one top politician is targeted I won't mind as long as it will make Dem think straight

I did something that really felt so satisfying to me, I was going somewhere and the route I followed I saw some heavily armed military guys in two gun trucks guarding a house (possibly) they escorted an Oga(prolly a General) all of them looking fierce. I had passed them but my mind pricked me to atleast show a lil appreciation for their efforts in securing the nation. When I approached them initially they were kind of apprehensive, but they later loosened up and I had a brief but fruitful engagement with them, as per na emergency meeting when I know plan for I felt heavy not dropping a lil cash with them, I had to get a chilled pack of Soft drinks and snacks for them. They were happy and the same time surprised. I was impressed and a little bit ashamed when I saw the very small boy manning the machine gun mounted on their Buffalo truck, wallahi that guy no pass 20yrs. I was like wtf, I'm sure this guy haven't even felt the warmth of a woman na him carry this kind responsibility for shoulder? I just codedly squeeze 2k into his palm, I was awed.
We talked about issues concerning banditry and the insurgency in the NE, it was really an eye opener.
I have always wanted to join the army via SSC/DSSC (Officer Cadre) but have being quite unlucky as them no dey even shortlist me for previous exercises atleast for interview to proof myself before the board despite having every goddamn qualification and age is ticking very fast. After gazing for a while I just said(in my mind o)army should stop putting babies in the frontlines, make them sef consider agbalagba like us wey wan contribute our own quota. grin
Overall the encounter was worth it.

ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS AGAINST BANDITS

News Flash
Army
1. In line with their noble mission to rid the North-West zone of armed bandits, cattle rustlers, Kidnappers and other sundry criminals, on 18 July 2020 gallant troops of Combat Team 1, Operation SAHEL SANITY with the support of Air Task Force advanced and captured one of the notorious armed bandits strongholds located deep in the forest in Jibia LGA of Katsina State known as Dangote Camp. Initial resistance by the bandits was effectively subdued by the superior tactics and dexterity of the troops which resulted in inflicting heavy casualty on the bandits. At the end of the encounter, 17 bandits were neutralized while several others were believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds as evident by the trails of blood along their escape routes. Equally, 5 AK 47 Rifles, 3 Dane guns, 2 AK 47 Rifle magazines, 152 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and 7 motorcycles were captured from the fleeing bandits.

2. Regrettably, one brave officer and 2 gallant soldiers paid the supreme price while 4 other soldiers were wounded in action. However, the wounded in action soldiers are currently responding positively to treatment in a military medical facility.

3. In the same vain, on 18 July 2020, troops conducting fighting patrol along Faskari – Sheme – Dandume Road in Katsina State, arrested 5 suspected bandits including one female. One of the suspects, Bashir Usman who claimed to be a policeman during interrogation could not validate his claim with any form of identification was apprehended with one AK 47 Rifle loaded with 28 rounds of ammunition while riding on a motorcycle. Other items recovered from him include one handset and the sum of Six Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty Naira (N6,050. 00) only. Suspects are presently undergoing preliminary interrogation.

4. Furthermore, on 17 July 2020, troops following a tip off that bandits invaded Kuka Uku Village in Batsari LGA, Katsina State and kidnapped a 16 year old Miss Hadiza Sani, promptly mobilized to the area and made contact with the bandits who abandoned the victim and fled due to the troops aggressive pursuit. The rescued victim has since been reunited with her family. Similarly, on 17 July 2020, troops deployed at Forward Operation Base Bagega rescued another kidnapped victim, a 10 year old girl, following an alarm by her mother that two bandits on motorcycle kidnapped the victim while they were fetching firewood around Bagega – Tudurki Forest. The rescued has been united with her family.

5. Consequently, the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai commended the troops for their gallantry, successes and their resilience. He urges them not to rest on their oars but build on the successes so far achieved. He further assured the people of the North-West zone of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to the safety of lives and properties within the zone.

Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Toju200(m):
Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have continued to conduct intelligence-based operations which continues to degrade Boko Haram /Islamic State of West Africa Province across the Theatre. Following credible intelligence, the gallant troops of of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on 17 July 20 targeted the terrorists on their market activities and undercover movement around Kolofata, a border town with Cameroon where troops of Strong Response Area (SRA) Pulka neutralized 6 Boko Haram terrorists attempting to cross from Cameroon Border towards Sambisa Axis.

2. Weapons and equipment captured from the terrorists include 3 AK 47 rifles, Magazine with 48 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one Honda Salon Car, one Motorcycle, 8 Bicycles, 3 Phones with multiple Sims and Memory Cards and 5 copies of the Holy Qur’an, among others. Additionally, there was also a letter written in Hausa to Abu Fatima (Boko Haram top commander),documents and other logistics. Shortly after the successful operation, the enemy communication intercept confirmed killing of a top Boko Haram Commander named Sayinna and other fighters during the encounter. The other slayed terrorists were suspected to be Imam and Mansur to Abu Fatima who hibernate in Sambisa forest.

3. Additionally, in recent times troops have been delving serious blows to BHT/ISWAP terrorists in the North East. It could be recalled that the troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE gallantly neutralized 8 prominent leaders of the disorganized, marauding elements of the terrorists in their futile attempt to infiltrate Army Super Camp Damasak. During such misadventure, the terrorists met their waterloo on 2 July, 2020 when they were led by their top leaders (Amirs) to attack the troops in Damasak from 2 flanks in an effort to cause them massive casualty. However, with own troops’ doggedness, superior fire power and maneuver the terrorists were devastated and the rest escaped in total disarray.

4. The Military successes of Operation LAFIYA DOLE particularly since the turn of the year 2020, has continually caused confusion and disharmony in the camps of the insurgents. This is evident by the frequent changes in ISWAP leadership within a short period and these was largely due to the several losses inflicted on them by own troops in both men, weapons and equipment.

5. Amongst the top BHT/ISWAP leaders killed during the encounter at Damasak and buried by the terrorists at Goski village in the early hours of 3 Jul 20 were:
a. Tumbun Dabino – Ba Issoufou.
b. Tumbun Bororo – Amir Batam.
c. Tumbun Jaki – Almustapha.
d. Tumbun Bagaruwa – Modou Kollo.
e. Dogon Tchoukou – Issah.
f. Tumbun Rakke – Mustapha Woulama.
h. Tumbun Dila – Boukar Kowa.
i. Tumbun Mita – Abou Aisha.

6. The series of successes so far recorded has led to several of the insurgents surrendering in their numbers. They voluntarily admitted that the insurgency is driven more by need for money, power, greed and criminality and less of any ideology.

7. The High Command of the Armed Forces of Nigeria has commended all the security agencies operating in the North East Zone, for their sustained successes. They are further urged to remain resolute and maintain the momentum of onslaught against the enemies of our country.
