The bible is very self-contradictory.

There are portions of the bible that say you can know if you're going to be in heaven. Yet there are other portions that say you can never know.

My position is the Truth whether you choose to believe it or not. That's why many are not able to find it.

What the Op said about it being easy is what many would love to hear but it's not the Truth.

Do you know how many anointed persons would still be cast out on the last day by Jesus despite all the works they had done in the name of Jesus?

That shows it's not easy, and that's the position of Jesus on the matter. If you decide to believe it or not, that your own choice.

Saying you will be saved means you will get to Heaven. As a Christian you should know no one knows that.

Hi Nairalanders, ur advice is seriously needed here. No insults pls.
I've been struggling with Masturbation and pornography addiction for the past 15 years.
I've tried all I could to stop but all to no avail.
I've prayed and fasted so many times with no tangible result. What happens is that;
I'll stop for like six(6) months without endulging in it. But once am down I see myself in the act again.
It has been filled with ups and downs all dis years.
Anytime I endulge in it the aftermath is filled with regrets, guilt, shame and loss of inner power.
I always fill sad and empty afterwards.
I really don't know what to do again, I seriously need help. My relationship with God is as take here.
Pls help a brother.

I appreciate the point you're trying to make about it being easy but the truth is that if it were, it would not be hard for many to find it.

I believe people ought to be told the truth because that would prepare for the journey if they want to take it so that they would not be caught unawares. I believe that's why Jesus was very blunt about it. He made it stark clear that it was not easy even though it was possible.

If there was any time it was easy, it was in the beginning when all it took was for man not to eat that fruit. That's all, and then man didn't have the nature of sin.

But after he did, it became hard because that seed sin which he sowed into himself multiplied into many sins, and we now inherited his nature of sin.

So it's not easy, but with God (the help of His Spirit), it is possible as you have pointed out.
