gidgiddy:LOL! not at all, no need for that cos there will be freedom of expression, interraction, and establishment, it is just about comforming to the rules in that region. The six regions are the best template. |
Lalasticlala, Seun, Mynd44 Please do the needful. This is very informative. |
Kekereekun123:So what will? Disintergration? So there wont be power tussle if we go our seperate ways? Read my explanation on retructuring above so that you will understand that once we have resource control, each region will be like a seperate country unified with other countries(Regions) to make one big Nigeria. |
Lobatan! Now he has turned to a tyrant. As simple as restructuring is, he is calling it a threat. Even a goat knows restructuring is what we need at this time due to the unitary form of government we are practising that has centralised every facet of the economy thereby crippling the efficacy of all sectors from Security, Banking, Health, Education and many more. The best arrangement for Nigeria is to have a real federation with a finely calibrated balance of powers and responsibilities between the central and federating units. The federating units can look after themselves more effectively without the feeding bottle of the central government. The center becomes less powerful, but not weak, because it will retain core sovereign responsibilities such as the armed forces and security services, citizenship and immigration, foreign affairs, and the central bank. The federating units should be the six geopolitical zones and not the present structure of states. Not less than 30 states in our present 36-state structure are economically unviable if left on their own without federal allocations or bail-out of by the Central Bank of Nigeria. This is partly because economic viability through fiscal sustainability was not seriously considered as a factor in state creation exercises in Nigeria, and partly because excessive reliance of natural resources (mainly crude oil) for fiscal revenues that are distributed by the central government has made states lazy for far too long. Many states in Nigeria still struggle to pay salaries of public servants. A restructured Nigeria with the six geo-political zones as federating units will work much better because these zones each have economies of scale. Trade and manufacturing can happen inside each zone with a market large enough to meet demand, as well as to trade effectively with other zones in the federation because they will be able to control their resources in respective zones and not the present system of the federal government controlling everything without the states or zones enjoying the full dividends of their contribution. If the above structure is implemented, there will be an accelerated competitive development in all the zones with a positive resultant effect of a bigger, better, stronger Nigeria. A fantastic option to disintegration. So shameful of a democratically elected president to turn deaf hears to those who elected him. History will never forget his evil adarmance, generations unborn will never forgive him and the gates of Jannah will forever be shut on him if he does not yield to the call for restructuring now before things get totally out of hand. Enough lives have been wasted already. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/254124-buhari-rejects-restructuring-nigeria.html |
Nice move. Now next on our demand is Restructuring of the nation. |
Okoroawusa:Restructuring is what we need at this time due to the unitary form of government we are practising that has centralised every facet of the economy thereby crippling the efficacy of all sectors from Security, Banking, Health, Education and many more. And talking about the 6 zones, we have. The North Central (NC), North East (NE), North West (NW), South West (SW), South East (SE) and South (SS) Each of these zones will just be like a stand alone country using their resources to build their region and there wont be need for Biafra anymore as the South Eastern region will be like Biafra where the Igbos can use their human and mineral resources to develope their region, The South West will be like Oduduwa repulblic and the SouthSouth will be the Niger delta region where they can now use their oil to develope their region. So we will have different regions suffix to say different countries making up one great entity called Nigeria and that position of being the giant of Africa,African largest economy and the most populous black nation on earth will be more dominant and the country will be one big indivisible entity. This will not affect any tribe of any region that is living or already established businesswise in other regions as there will be freedom of movement and commercial activities regardless of the region you belong cos we still have one identity as Nigerians. If the above structure is implemented, there will be an accelerated competitive development in all the zones with a positive resultant effect of a bigger, better, stronger Nigeria. A fantastic option to disintegration and the talks of Biafra, oduduwa or Arewa repulblic will be forgotten forever.

Kekereekun123:There will be great difference because the present structure is a breeding ground for corruption with impunity. |
If only we all can start singing one song of RESTRUCTURING Maybe the Tyrant president will get the message clearly. The endSars slogan makes it look as if we are asking for what has been done already. |
greenhulk:Both you and the alternate moniker you quoted are clueless. How many people are rightfully detained and imprisoned in Nigeria? Let me just pretend I did not read your lamentation. Why not ask why the tyrant in Aso Rock remained adarmamt in doing the right ting? |
Neddstark:You are just spewing trash! Why did the government not act in a proactive manner?
|
This will further ignite the passion for more protests. Simple logic |

Sad. |
Buhari is nothing short of a Tyrant. https://thenationonlineng.net/buhari-wont-succumb-to-threats-on-restructuring/

If North join the protest, e Don be for Buhari be that |
Restructure Nigeria, nothing less. |

No sir, what the government is still hearing is Police SARs so let us come out to specifically ask for those demands with the acronym and write them out plainly for the government and the world to see. |
DirectPosting:Please enough of this EndSars slogan.. What about #EndPoorHealtcare #EndPoorEducationStandard #EndYouthsUnemployment #RestructureNigeria They have ended SARs so it's time to move on to greater demands |
The reason why we can't back out anymore. |
okefrancis:My anger with the youths right now is thst they kept carrying endSARs placards when they should be asking for RESTRUCTING which is why the protest is now perceived to be excessive. As for EndSars I believe that is done so let is specifically ask for what we want on the placards we are carrying.. #Restructuring #increase in Police, Army... #Edicational reform and so on.. Enough of this EndSars thing. |
Uyi168:See let me tell you one deep secret.... Money can never ever replace that sweet feeling of being with who you want to be with. As a guy I have turned down many ladies who had lot of goodies to offer cos it will be like I'm in a prison if I ever be with them. My prayer for every lady reading this is to prosper independently so that they can be with a man because they want to be with him and not because of his money.. Believe it or not, except Regina really desires this man, she will always fantacize about the guy she really desires for as long as she remains in that marriage. |
Christistruth00:It was an advise and that does not make it a sin if they have more and Paul wouldn't agree to a man with 2 wives before GOD called him to divorce either of them. Read with understanding. |

There is no doubt that the ongoing protests have yielded great result but unfortunately, there can never be any viable reformation in the Police without reforming the parent structure the Police force depends on in order to be effective. I believe that centralisation of almost everything is making the country to be practically unitary in nature, rather than federal which is one of the vital reasons the police can not perform effectively which was why sub-regional security outfits were recently created with Amotekun in the south-west, Shege ka Fasa, a security outfit created by the Coalition of Northern Groups, and the South Eastern Region have met to form a regional security outfit....These are strong pointers to the fact that there is something relatively wrong with the entire security system of the country which the police stands for. The only way forward at this time is for the elected Senators to take a positive stand on bringing about constitutional amendments that will address the problems bothering us as a nation and that is to restructure the entire system...this is an option we can't run away from and the only people who can make that happen are the present crop of senators in the 9th National assembly. There is no doubt that their approach to our current agitation is not encouraging and i believe that it is a breach of trust for senators to turn deaf ears to the agitations of the people who elected them simply because they are benefitting from the crazy structure in place. In view of this non-challance from the self-centred senators, whilst the peaceful protests continue, there is another viable and constitutional option we can explore to let them realize we are not joking and that is to recall the senators and this can be done in 3 stages. How To Recall A Senator or Representative: 1. Petition A member of the Senate or the House of Representatives can be recalled if there is a petition signed by more than half of the people registered to vote in that person’s constituency stating their loss of confidence in the public official. This petition must be presented to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). 2) Verification: Once INEC receives this petition, it crosschecks the petition to verify that it has truly been signed by more than half of the total registered voters in that constituency and if the petition process has been in line with the law. This is how the verification process works: INEC will notify the Senator, Representative or Area Council member about to be recalled, telling the person that it has received a petition for their recall; INEC will issue a public notice stating the date, time and location for the verification process; The verification process will be conducted at the polling units of the elected official, and INEC will try to match the signatures on the petition to the people who actually signed them. These signatories must also appear in the Voters’ Register. If the numbers verified is validly found to be less than half of the registered voters in that constituency, then the recall process will be dismissed, and INEC will write to the petitioners stating that the minimum requirements for a referendum were not met. 3)Referendum: A referendum is a direct vote where voters answer either “YES” or “NO” to a proposal. Section 69 (b) of the Constitution states that a referendum must be conducted by INEC within ninety days (90) of the receipt of the petition. The referendum will be a “Yes” or “No” vote on whether the Senator, Representative or Area Council Member should be recalled. And if a simple majority of the voters registered to vote in that official’s constituency vote “Yes”, the elected official stands recalled. The Chairman of INEC must send a Certificate of Recall to the Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives or the Chairman of an Area Council to effect the recall. https://www.zikoko.com/citizen/how-to-recall-a-silent-senator/ The Dino Melaye recall case ended at the verification stage because the people INEC verified their signatures were only 5.34% instead of the needed 50.1% to enter the final stage but with the current situation, i believe we will be able to have over 80% verified signatures in each constituency in most parts of the country and once we start this process with the ongoing peaceful protest still on, i strongly believe that the Lawmakers will do the needful in an unbelievable swift manner. My humble opinion.
|
Omoluabi9:I am about to do just that and i hope lalasticlala or Mynd44 will beam it on frontpage cos we need all hands on deck at this crucial time. |
When we make move to start recalling them they will act swiftly, trust me. This process can be initiated as the Peaceful protest continues. https://lawpadi.com/recall-senator-nigeria/ |

Same apc and pdp will still be rulers. The rich zones will have more to steal while the poor ones will have nothing and probably die off. The same awolowo akintola fight will still arise in Tinubu and another of his boys. Even in developed nations government support poor states or province. Restructuring cannot save 9ja
