Those ladies either don't know what they want or they're lying about their love because of what they will get from the relationship
May GOD bless you..you just nailed it....WE FALL IN LOVE BECAUSE OF WHAT WE CAN GET and not because we are carried away by true love

A guy dating a typical naija babe should be ready to let go of the lady if she sees an American sweet guy ready to marry her..

But in the case of a rich lady who is not freaked about materialism then she can be with a man for another reason like his cuteness or maybe sexual ability or caring nature and the day she stops seeing those reasons, the love starts fading.

Omoge please just forget this thing called love..na wash.

I 've made my analysis and conclusion that the day you love somebody cos of a thing, the day that thing expires the love expires...all i'm saying is, mr toks2008, love unconditionally.
I can not love unconditionally. Kojo

You must be sexually pleasing to my eyes

You must know how to cook or go learn it.

You must be well mannered

Anything short of these na seresere and if I marry you with these qualities and while I am ready to cope with diminishing sexual features you must uphold the last two or you are on your own.

Love ko love ni.

how please? that makes no sense undecided so you are saying that a person can just see a mad man on the street and just love him like that without any reason? undecided that doesn't make ayota of sense if you ask me grin .... You have to have or display qualities in you for people to like or love you. It just like when they ask someone; why do you love this person? Will you say I don't know, I just love this person for loving sake? grin grin
I totally understand you but please why is it that a lady will see a short fat not too cute guy professing love to her while she will be all over a Tall cute guy?

Why will a lady marry a man she knows does not really love her because the guy is so rich?

Why do ladies say "I want a man with a vision" with this or that and not just say "I want a mam that will love me regardless"

Does that not make love a scam?

Don't get me wrong, its perfectly ok to love or marry a man for whatever reasons thats cool by you but just don't let me hear those scam phrase I LOVE YOU from any lady.

Just tell me you desire me and I'm ok with that.

Continue with your thread bro.

I laugh whenever someone talk about Love, hate, destiny etc as a natural occurence.

Three factors determine behavious of an individual.

1. His/her passion, needs, wants, ambition, desires.

2. The society he/she live in.

3. His/her Religion belief and how the person was brought up.
You keep impressing me.

Those who i can say are capable of loving are the teenagers who mostly have pure hearts and that is why you see a girl of 17 ready to elope with a lover who can't even feed himself but then if you ask her why she "loves" the guy she will still lame things like.."he is fine, tall, has teddy and 6packs" ...

As long as there is a reason for loving then forget those 4 letter words.

This is why I pity ladies who think a man truly loves them because they propose marriage to them

Its either he loves your curves, your outward beauty, your manners, your cooking ability or sexual prowess..but take that thing away from him and watch him change or worse still as soon as he has gotten enough of whatever endeared him to you he will start hunting for a new one.

Why someone like me did not really feel bad about this government is because even as a child, i discovered that i have only me to depend on.
It is not that the government should not fulfill its responsibilities to the citizens, but are the citizens ready to make needed sacrifice to succeed 'cause hard way is the only way.
Even despite the current economic hardship some still don't get it, for Gods sake people who already had four children and groaning under the yoke of maintaining this family are still getting pregnant to add more loads on themselves.
And they continued to fast and pray for breakthrough blaming their situation on imaginary enemies and government.
Apart from bad government, another silent enemy of this country is uncontrolled population and the worst culprits are actually those who don't even have money to take care of these children.
The consequences of purposeless procreation are all around us, a woman was asked why she insisted on having only two children and she answered that she wanted to breed quality, she is still very angry with her father for having many children from so many women whom were abandoned for their mothers to raise.
Instead of feeling bitter and depressed, people should just sit down and look at where things went wrong and make the necessary adjustment, it won't be easy but with discipline determination and prayers this country will survive.
Wow! so insightful.

But God is love na!
Yes love only exist from God to man but anyone who believes in human love is a big fool.

Human love is a charade, a chase after the wind which is based on a condition and if the condition is no longer there, love fades and tolerance sets in with an eventual crash just for us to start looking for the right condition in another person which triggers the so called dumb words "I LOVE YOU".

Can you love without a reason?

This is a simple logic. Love is not natural, it is a result of personal perspectives, greed and gains/rewards.

Have you ever asked yourself why the so called Love vanish between couple that once loved each other?
Chai!..this is an excerpt. Were you in my head? maybe I should just ignore writing anything cos this sums it up.

RomanceDo you Believe In Love? by Toks2008(op):
Can you love without a reason and unconditionally? What is the true definition of love?

I strongly believe that real and unconditional love only exist from God to man but anyone who believes in human love is a big dummy.

In my opinion i believe that ,human love is a charade, a facade and a chase after the wind which is based on a selfish condition and if the condition is no longer there, love fades and tolerance sets in with an eventual crash.

But when this selfish condition is still present in that other person, we usually use the so called dumb words "I LOVE YOU", "PROMISE YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE ME", "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU", "WILL YOU MARRY ME", "YES I DO TILL DEATH..."

Let's cut the chase and face facts, human relationship is basically an exchange of obligation,a pure trade by barter. We will likely hear those vague words "I love you" from someone who actually desires you because of your sexual features, money, cuteness, fear of God, future prospect, moral standards, fame and so on and God help you that those reasons remain else you are a past tense or a mere partner that will be tolerated maybe because the other party is no longer at a vantage point to dump you and both of you will now become a good sample couple of real love while in actual fact you are only tolerating each other.

So when next you hear a man ask you "will you marry me or can we start dating?" or a lady agrees to be your date or wife, rather than assume that it is love in action, just find a nice moment to ask that person why he or she wants you as a date or spouse so that you can always keep that reason alive to avoid heart ache.

So my humble advice to people out there looking for true love or someone who will love them for real is to stop chasing shadows and be with someone who catches their fancy and keep the condition of the "attraction" alive or continue to wait for real love until Mongo park discovers them.

I have deep things to write concerning this but on a second thought i have decided to hold back and throw this open for discussion as the title is self explicit.

Call me a sadist, a pessimist or any name you desire but as I always reiterate, I am a realist but Maybe true love exist between a man and woman in a love affair in one out of a million chances but i would like to read from you if you believe in this 4 letter scam called L O V E,

Over to you all.

I can't call him those names even if he behaves like or worse than those. But humans ought to at least have conscience. Nigeria is in a state that calls for concern. But becos you voted in this government, you are doing everything to make them appear the savior. Let your conscience talk to you. Sanusi et el have spoken becos they have conscience. I bet you that I wouldn't be crying out if I see a single blueprint or plans to better the state of nigeria. But all we hear is past government, mono economy, corruption. For how longhuh?
Now its so apparent that you did not read the writeup because if you did you will realize that I am equally as pained as you are and of course most people but I have my reasons for what I wrote cos I have never seen any regime as transparent as this present one but as I wrote, it remains my opinion which I'm very entitled to and there is no blasphemy in comparing them with moses or any prophet.

President Buhari like the moses in the Bible was sent packing from the position of authority some years back but made a come back to be the leader.

This time around he did not come back with the background he was known for as a military man but as a civilian just like moses who was known to be part of pharaoh's household came back as an unassuming fellow to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to the promise land.

I don't know what anyone else believes but I strongly believe that President Buhari is the moses of our time that will lead us out of our Egypt experience, take us through the wilderness experience but may likely not enter the promise land with us.

Now let's see the allegory;

In the life of every human or nation, there is always the Egypt experience, the wilderness experience before the promise land experience.

During the Egypt experience, the situation may seem OK but it is a disguised bondage but if you decide to leave your Egypt experience, you must be ready for a very tough wilderness experience that will make you wish you go back to Egypt.

The wilderness experience is a must for anyone or any nation desiring a promise land and those who prefer to create a comfort zone in their Egypt experience will never see the promise land.

The Buhari and Osinbanjo led government are like the Moses and Aaron of our time and the years we thought were OK in the Egypt experience only seem to be because we were in great bondage to leaders who looted our treasury with impunity while patting our heads with a ticking time bomb.

The years we thought we were OK in our Egypt experience were the years our leaders fed fat on the abundance inflow of good profits from our crude oil while throwing crumbs to the floor for us to feed on.

Like the Israelites who were already frustrated with their condition and needed a quick fix, their wilderness experience was tough and very discouraging which made them doubt the competence of Moses and Aaron and in like manner,Nigerians have gone through years of frustration and in need of a quick fix but unfortunately undergoing very very tough times which is a wilderness experience for us and this has made most Nigerians doubt the competence of President Buhari and vice president Osinbanjo.

The Israelites said to Moses and Aaron,
"If only we had died by the LORD's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death." Exodus 16:3

Yes like Moses and Aaron who made series of mistakes, it is expected for our leaders to make mistakes too but just as some Israelites persevered, prayed and supported Moses and Aaron which saw them to the promise land, let us pray and believe in the course of this seemingly "clueless" government and I'm positive that we shall get to the promise land.

Lastly, we must understand that Moses and Aaron started the journey with Israelites to the promise land but not even one of their generations who left Egypt entered the promise land but it was Joshua who eventually led the younger Israelites into it so in like manner, it just might be a Joshua who is yet unknown that will lead us to the promise land but the journey has begun and together we can channel a new course for the coming generation into a new Nigeria that will be the envy of the whole world.

Let us blame and curse less but be hopeful and let us support this government by offering viable advice and raising our voices in unity to ask questions if we are not OK with any government policy and together we will create a greater and better Nigeria for the generations to come because the journey from Egypt to the promise land will not happen overnight but we will surely get there.

God bless the Federal republic of Nigeria.
