Your very first comment on this thread says it is misleading because we have very weak internet users who may see it but then I ask...how many believers out there do fornicate steadily due to sexual urge?

I have many lady friends who have told me how stroking themselves have helped them keep off from fornication.

Now if there is one thing I have learned on this thread its the fact that many people agreed that masturbation is not fornication but uncleanliness by their understanding though

So if indeed it is unclean habit shall we call it sin? NO

So the bottom line is that given the options of fornicating, masturbating and bottling sexual urge, I'm happy that those weak internet users will now have a better option than fornicating if they can not bottle it up.

Whether it is a sin or nor, the fact remains that till date we have only been able to give it human meaning as the bible is totally silent about it so to that person who feels bad about it, keep off but if your conscience does not judge you then it is left to you.

In America the pastors have more sexual sins to preach against but in Nigeria I guess our religious nature still sees an innocuous act such as self servicing as a sin even for fully grown men and women who ought to be parents but are still single due to several factors.

Jesus made it clear that visual sexual thought is sinful but can you prove from the bible that sexual thought without any visual act is a sin?

The bible says "Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death." James 1:14-15

The truth is that sexual thoughts for the unmarried is like temptation and this can give birth to sinful actions which of course is fornication.

The question is when this thought comes does it mean you have sinned? No

Now the bone of contention is if you touch yourself and in the process you ease out(masturbate) the urge to fornicate shall we say you have sinned?

This is the confusion. My point is that masturbation or self sex as some call it was never mentioned as a sin and fornication which WS vividly mentioned involves two people in fact the bible listed so many other sexually immoral act like same sex, incest,animal and human and many more so shall we say God made a mistake by not saying "do not have sexual pleasure with yourself ? oh maybe he forgot I guess.

Why did God even make it possible for us to please ourselves sexually?

I have been a believer since 1987 and I know my stands.

Watching porn is fornication,self servicing while watching porn is fornication but when you are so filled with sexual passion and you are not married you are free to ease off with your imagination if you can but if you have the grace to control yourself good for you.

In conclusion I would like every believer to understand that nobody will be qualified to enter heaven based on our efforts or by keeping the commandments but by our faith in Christ are we justified.

When I traveled to South Africa and experience their cold weather I had a rethink about smoking.

Some weathers are crazily cold and I just can't blame them from trying to keep warm by smoking.

Nevertheless nicotine and alcohol are vividly harmful even in small quantity and if the bible says we should not destroy our body which is his temple then why take substances that will destroy it?

In the case of alcohol the bible made it clear that Drunkenness is a sin meaning getting intoxicated is a sin but many people don't know their limits.

If you look at sperm as a human fluid which it is anyway. It may just be as simple as releasing fluids that trigger hormonal reactions.

When you masturbate you are actually having intercourse with spirits (some people call them spirit spouses), I will just call them spirit partners. Now you may be tempted to say, what is the big deal in having sex with spirits? For those of you who have heard about spirit spouses, you'd know that when a person has been espoused to a spirit partner, the spirit partner prevents such a person from making significant progress in life- because it sees that person as it's partner it could prevent one from getting a human partner(husband/wife), if one is already married it could prevent one from child bearing, if one already has children it could bring about confusion in the family to cause separation, etc. In short what spirit partners do is, they cause delay in important areas of ones life. Does God think about sex? I doubt. We are humans, we live in the flesh and do suffer imperfections of the flesh.So God understands as Christ himself lived in the flesh.
Does that stop us from seeking perfection? No. So what do we do? We do not use out human fraility to justify our imperfection, rather we everyday confess our sinfulness and look up to God to give us strength to live as Christ commanded us to - to be pure, spotless and blameless before God. Here is the story of my friend who is not happy at all. After spending a huge sum for his masters in UK, he's yet to be employed. Read below....

I graduated from the university in 2011 and finished my NYSC in 2012. I had already planned my life I didn’t want to waste much time before going for my master’s degree if I didn’t get a good job.

A month before my POP in 2012, I got a job offer in an oil firm in Port Harcourt that I served. With a salary of N50,000 they offered, I wasn’t satisfied with it. I wanted better even when part of me insisted on taking the offer. I had to tell my mom that I wanted to sell some of my late dad’s property to raise money to go to U.K for my masters. My mom totally refused. She objected on me selling any of my dad’s property to go abroad for my master. And she has also refused to give me money for school fees. She no want make I travel. She said she would only support me if I wanted to start a business.

Not that we are so rich, we are just okay. My mom runs her own boutique in Abuja. my dad only left us with 4 landed properties and I intended selling off 3 to raise money to go for my master’s in U.K, and I didn’t know where to raise any money. I thought about everything, it was really killing me. My late dad left four landed properties in Abuja, and my mom didn’t want me to sell any of them. She wanted me to keep them.

A week after my service, I had to trick my mom after much pressure I placed her in. She allowed me to only sell 2. I told her I wanted to use the money to start an agriculture business. Na so she give me permission to sell. And I didn’t even sell it for as much reasonable price just because I was so desperate. I was not patience enough and my mom was terribly angry with me. I supposed to realize about N11m on the two land sales because it was located in a good area. But I wasn’t patient enough. I hurriedly realized N7. 8m from the sales. I paid my tuition fee and every other ones in the U.K. After everything. While I was still waiting for my Visa confirmation, I mom will keep asking when and the plans about my business. I will tell her I was still working on it. I got my Visa before telling my mom. My mom nearly went ballistics when I told her I was using the money for my masters in U.K. I had to beg and kept begging. Even when I was leaving for U.K, she didn’t even talk to me. She felt betrayed about what I did.

After my masters, I came back late 2014. I and my mom had finally reconciled, I felt fulfilled that my value has risen in the labour market. Not until after job hunting for 2 months, it looked as if my education was nonsense. It looked as if I wasted my time and money in U.K for masters and was not able to get any reasonable job. Employers no even send my U.K certificate sef. After spending about N6.7m for my school, stay and all expenses in U.K, I am yet to get reasonable offer. I am beginning to regret, I would have heeded to my mom’s advice to use the money for business.

This is 2016 and yet no job. And I didn’t want my mom to know about my so many weird job hunting ordeals, because it would look as if it was out of my disobedience I refused to listen to her. The one that angered me most was the job interview I went for last week. It was boldly stated that they wanted people with masters. It was after the interview only for me to hear that the company only recruited Bsc holders. Infact I was told that the interview we did was just a formality, the company had taken people they wanted. I was so pained when I heard that. That was not the first time such a thing is happening. There is no longer equality in Nigerian job hunting labour system. To get a job now is about “WHO IS YOUR FATHER” or “WHO DO YOU KNOW.”

Well, but I know God, am being hopeful that soon I will get a good job. I just decided to take the little money I have to do start up a small business.

Philippians 4:8 - And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

I love the way you put it.."NOT HEALTHY" because if concieved will lead to fornication but sexual thoughts is definitely not a sin.

As i wrote in the article, if your heart condemns you anytime you self service then stop it but if the condemnation is because you think it is a sin please understand that it is a better alternative to fornication but if you can keep to yourself without fornicating or self servicing please do as that will help you a great deal BUT SELF SERVICING IS NOT A SIN.

But for all i care,getting married is one sure step to prevent or stop self servicing.
