RomanceRe: Why Nigerian Ladies Should Never Settle For Less by Toks2008(m): 9:58am On Sep 22, 2014
I still maintain my earlier stand. Women are endangered species in this cruel world of men.

Whenu say a lady must not setlle for less,i would love to look away from physical features.

A lady must not settle for less ehen it comes to been appreciated, loved and cherished.

If a lady finds a beast who truly loves and cherishes her,she is lucky.

Its not about being wth a cockload no good heartbreaker of a man but a short fat ugly loving man will always melt rhe heart of a resonable lady.

My opinion

And do you think your response was not too harsh and confrontational?

If you believe this was not a heated response to an aired opinion that holds no crime then i rest my case.

Mondisweets: is all of this testosterone because i said people in your generation? cheesy kpele its not my fault, you are not as young as you would want people to make you feel grin

P.S. If u rude to me i can only give u a response equally as rude. Respect and politeness can only be given to those who deserve it.
Testotewat? Nah, i am quite matured to understand you are a young lady full of life and needs lots of lesson to learn, I don't know how old you are but as a man of my age, i can only advice you to always take a chill pill and relax and also learn to articulate your points to a man in a very serene manner else no man would really want to be with a woman who likes to be confrontational. Its a turn off trust me. Did you copy that? you can make your stand-view known and always pass your message in a subtle, humble and respectful manner and not confrontational,NO MAN LIKES TO BE CONFRONTED.

My 50 cents though.

safarigirl: lol...tall, handsome and rich. That's what you're used to hearing? No, I' don't want a rich man, I want a man who is comfortable, who can step up to the plate when the time comes.

Rich men, don't have time for family, sorry for the misconceptions you get from the females you hang around. But I don't want to marry a rich man, some things are more important than material wealth
This can only come from a matured mind but then what is your definition of "comfortable"?
RomanceRe: Why Nigerian Ladies Should Never Settle For Less by Toks2008(m): 10:48pm On Sep 21, 2014
Mondisweets: its also not your business to be telling who should be selective and who shouldnt and its not for you to decide who someone else should or should not be married to either. If women in your generation fell for it, well too bad. The times have changed now.
Its quite disheartening that your response shows the nature of a lady who lacks decorum when it comes to making intelligent post and i honestly see no reason for your adrenaline type of response.

Any lady with a moderate IQ will understand my standview and if needs be,will respond in a responsible, humble and ln a decent manner.

I simply laugh at the naivety of some ladies who claim they are in search of a man who will truly love them and appreciate them.

Why i laugh is because deep inside these ladies, they know if a man truly desires and appreciates them but what they are actually looking for is totally different from what they claim.

I have heard many ladies set standards as regards the type of man they want and there is absolutely nothing wrong in that except the fact that they cross the line by wanting to be with a man they have strong feelings for and even if they meet a man that truly desires them,as long as they don't have feelings for such man,its a NO.

I'm sorry to tell you this truth; many ladies will end up been an object of ridicule in their affairs until they learn the fact that all you need is a man that will truly love, appreciate and value you and every other thing is secondary.

Don;t be carried away by his money, looks or razzmatazz but be sensitive to know if he sincerely wants you and cherish you. If you are fortunate to have a prince charming who also truly desires you, good for you but never make this a must.

Yes i agree that your feelings towards this person is important but your marital happiness does not lie in what you feel for him rather its the way he feels towards you.

Of what use will it be if you end up marrying a man you are crazy about but will make you cry all the time? Of what use will it be if you end up with that man that has all you want except the fact that he turns you to a punching bag?

Some ladies are actually fortunate to end up with man of their dreams but to be on the safer side,be sensitive to know if that man truly desires you because not every man that comes for your hand in marriage truly loves and cherishes you because many guys these days marry for selfish reasons.

Trust me,its better to be with a man who truly wants, desires, appreciates you than to end up with a man you want but does not really wants you.

Don't let any man manage you, whether you are short, too tall, lanky, fat,"ugly", cute,thin...i can assure you that there is a man out there who will love and appreciate you just the way you are.

And the best part is that you will also fall in love in a short while with any man who truly shows you he cares even if he is a short fat ugly man.(watch beauty and the beast) and you will agree with me that all a woman needs is a man that will love and cherish her all the days of her life.

That is the man you need, and not necessarily the man you are crazy about.

Hope this helps

@OP, If you like preach from now till tomorrow,it does not change the fact that 95% of Nigerian ladies will never be with a man for the right reasons.

All these historical, rethorical n ecclessiastical mombo jumbo does not apply to Nigerian ladies.

My advice to naija guys is to try their best to make good money snd you will be the ideal man of most of them no matter how ugly, short or terrible your decorum is,they will settle for you idiocyncracies.

safarigirl: Being born into a society such as the Nigerian one connites certain things for a female.

I honestly sympathise with her that she was unable to get the man of her desires, and eventually chose to settle for Plan B, who in fact was not what she desired, but as they say, when the desirable is not available, the available becomes desirable.

Time and again on Nairaland you find numerous chauvinists telling women basically that they have no opinion, telling us that we ought to dance skelewu because one of these rare species called 'men' looked upon us with pity and decided to marry us. And for those poor souls like Rita Dominic, Linda Ikeji and Genevieve Nnaji who are yet to be honored witha wedding ring? They should keep praying the rosary and hope they don't die 'marriageless'

Marriage is the be all and end all of a woman, therefore, she must settle for a raggamuffin if she hasn't found a gentleman at the ripe 'OLD' age of 27. Once you're through with University, your next bus stop should be a man's house.

Many women have ended up in loveless, frustrating marriages after settling for less, because all your friends got married after University doesn't mean you must marry at that time. Don't be the one whose story ends with 'Had I Known'

Feel free to live a little, keep your head on your shoulders, walk with your chin up, if you want your man to be as tall as Lebron James, don't settle for Tom Cruise, if you want him to be as charming as Antonio Banderas, don't settle for Al Pacino, if you want him to be as fit as CR7, don't settle for Mr. Ibu. If you must settle for less, let it be reasonable, don't go from a Lebron to a Kevin Hart because you're 'getting old and all your mates are married" no be who marry first dey happy pass.

Even the bible says "ask and it shall be given unto you" so if you tell God "I will manage..." He will bless you with a 'manageable' man.

God bless you as you settle with the best smiley

I'm contemplating dropping some courses and rewriting them next session to boost my GP. please can I resit those exams and still go for NYSC that same year? I talked to my course adviser about it and he said i'll be able to go with the next available batch once my result is out. pls is this possible? what is your advice to me? N.B: I'm 20 years old
Do whatever you think its ok but just know that a first class upper(if it exists) or a third class lower is not a guarantee for success or failure in life.

Your success in life lies in how intelligently creative you are.

Hone are those days when grades really count, now the smarter you are the richer you become.Aliko dangote,Bill gate and Mark Zuckerberg can confirm my assertion.

RomanceRe: Dealing With Teenage Girls Can Be So Frustrating! by Toks2008(m): 7:31am On Sep 15, 2014
Its all a out the frontal lobe of our brains which is responsible for personality expression and the planning of complex cognitive behaviors. It develops as we age and this is why teenagers act irrationally because their frontal lobe is not fully developed.

Don't blame them but try to understand them, its not their fault at all, its their make up at that point in time and that is why parents must be very careful in dealing with them at that level.

This is why i call 18years the age of death because their irrational behavior comes up at its peck at this age coupled with the "I AM 18" factor where they can now make some decisions without any form of suppression from parents.

We need to pray for them at their teenage years.
RomanceRe: Dealing With Teenage Girls Can Be So Frustrating! by Toks2008(m): 9:25pm On Sep 14, 2014
unyours: This is just my opinion and many guys have only a teenage will counter me on that! Dealing with teenage girls had always been a no-go-area for me. They just act too immature, over sensitive and inexperience. They are also too proud and pompous of themselves you don't even dare stop them on the way to ask for direction. Don't think about complimenting them for you just get a hiss or some other sort of arrogancy. Don't dare to correct them especially concerning their dressing cos it's just What You Seek Is What You Find(Wysiwyf - synonym for hot-dirty-slap). My friend once asked a teenage girl to adjust her dress to cover her expose panties na so the girl recharge 1500 for my guy face. Throughout that day na so my guy hold hand for face like person weh dey make call. I pity the guy... Teenage girls are really frustrating and difficult to deal with... Stay out of them and stay out of trouble. Well if you ain't intolerant like me, i wish you goodluck!

Unyours speaking for...
#teamMaturedAndGrownupBabes
teenagers generally have a peculiar way of behaving and it has to do with their make up at that level of life.

A teenage lady can abort a pregnancy before you say jack while a more matured lady will think deep. A teenager can decide to commit suicide just at the taught of it while a more matured person will think deep.

It still remains fresh in my memory when i was in the university and i was 18 at that time.

I single handedly hijacked a molue bus because we needed it not minding the dangers of struggling with the driver and the fate of the many passengers. Anytime i look back i always laugh at my stupidity thinking i actually overpowered the driver not knowing he was only been matured.

This is why its quite easy for teenagers to join cults and bad gangs.

Its not about ladies alone, its a general characteristics of teenagers to be i rational and erratic in nature.
