Me I am definitely adopting just like many in my family have done and we can promote abstinence all we want but you and I know that most people ( except for religious folks) will still not abstain so what is the next logical step. If people don't care about others then what right do they have to advice the woman on what she should do when you know you don't care about the outcome of her choice? so we should just advice everyone to dump the kids in the Orphanages and then what happens? Many of them will end up even turning into criminals when there is no one to care for them. Just go to some of the Orohanages and you will weep

you are right however i think Nigerians are very hypocritical with the whole take the baby to the Orphanage . How many of you here have ever adopted a child from the Orphanage or are planning to do so? If more people adopt that would encourage women who can't take care of the babies or rape victims to have the child and drop them at Orphanages because they will be sure that there is a better chance of them getting adopted and having a good family life.

Gbam, I agree that abortion is wrong but I have noticed that while Nigerians are always quick to say take the child to the Orphanage most of them will never adopt a baby from the Orphanage. So what ends up happening to those children? The Orphanages are generally underfunded and the children are neglected . While we advice people against abortion we should also promote adoption. Plus many of you will the first ones to gossip if a girl you know has a baby and takes the child to the Orphanage, you will still judge the girl and tell all potential suitors later which is why many are not bold enough to have the baby and take the child to the Orphanage.
