eGuerrilla: Wait a minute, are you suggesting that we suspend reality completely simply because you consider it fruitless to invest any degree of trust in mere mortals?

Have you become so despondent about the political situation that you can no longer differentiate between what is inherently bad and the possibility of a sea-change?
..that post is not directed at you, by the way, the tone of my message was very mild, don't quote my sentence out of context undecided

I remembered Jonathan declaring sometimes in 2011 that each governors (irrespective of the parties they represent) will only be re-elected based on their performances, of course, with that statement he put them (the governors) on their toes! Jonathan is really trying, of course I am expecting more from him, but I will not be rash with him cool

Olaolufred: NO, I DID NOT WANT OJUKWU TO BELIEVE IN THE SAME COUNTRY,
HOWEVER, I DID NOT WANT OJUKWU AND HIS FOLLOWERS TO ALSO COMPLAIN ON THE REPERCUSION
OF THE ILL-DECISION OR KEEP WHINING ON THE DECISION YOU TOOK THAT WENT ABYSS.
ISN'T THAT ALSO A LOGIC?
You are trying to evade the issue in my post to you!!! huh Leave the Igbos out of your calculations they are the ones who felt the heat not we (the Yorubas) so what? huh
Yes!!!

Do you think otherwise??
Nope, I am just curious as to why you so much believed and trust 'mere mortals' as if they are gods! What gives you the impression that if he gets to where the 'real money' are, he will still be the same Keyamo you used to know undecided

Mandelaguy: I wonder why people will not mature after months and years on nairaland. GEJ's achievements were carefully scripted for all to read and dispute. All you have as a return missile for a progressive governance of positivity is name calling. Can't you list those things you think GEJ has not done well? Are you scared that they will be dismantled one after the other? Show your mettle and stop name calling. I am pro GEJ and I am happy he has not failed me. The only thing I ever held against him was the timing of the subsidy removal, aside that , he is going to be promoted on top of the class. grin grin grin grin grin
You still don't get it, many Nairalanders bring their personal and domestic problems to Nairaland hence, they can't even attempt any thread on Jonathan's activities with intelligence, most times they argue as if they are in their 'periods' funny enough I am talking of the guys here! Not one of them (Jonathan's attackers) have been able to refute sincerenigerians lists of Jonathan's achievements so far so good! cool
Politics › Re: Largest NIPP Power Plant To Be Launched In March by tomakint: 3:16pm On Feb 14, 2013
porka: With due respect sir, what you state here is not completely true.

The power problem in 1999 was inadequately identified by almost everyone, including some of the most trusted hands we have in the system.

In 1999, most people, including Chief Bola Ige, Dr Olu Agunloye etc believed that the problem was as a result of mismanagement of NEPA.

Therefore, generation (general increase in capacity) was not immediately factored in the solution early on.

It was not until some years later that the same Obasanjo's administration with serious input from Atiku through Liyel Imoke Committee came up with the NIPPs.

NIPPs constructions were still on going when Obasanjo left office (he commissioned a few).

On coming to office, the Yaradua administration, due to one reason or another, decided to stop further financing of the NIPPs and this stalled the completion.

The Jonathan administration decided to complete the plants as part of its strategic agenda to light Nigeria.

These are the same projects being commissioned now sir.

Putting everything in perspective, it is mischievous to say Obasanjo "squandered this golden chance".

He (Obasanjo) actually started these projects, the completion of which we are witnessing.

Some of the power plants you cited above were not started and completed by the same administration.

Government is a continuum, the important thing is to see to the end of a project(s) in the overall interest of the public.
In case you don't know Nigerians never had it so good 'monetary wise' in recent times but under Obasanjo it was Money-rain left, right, centre! He was privileged to witness the pardon of our debt from the Paris Club, yet he goofed and you are trying to 'educate' me on what its already known undecided Sorry, you are being economical with the FACTS cool

alj harem: That is why I have said it that SOUTHERN NIGERIA CAN NEVER WORK. Yorubas would go their own way along any group/s that think they can couple with being equals be it even fulani or hausa.

There is no conspiracy here, Yorubas and Igbos can never mix politically. It is a fact.
This is where I will like to take you on, are we (Yorubas) united politically? undecided
Politics › Re: Prof Achebe's "There Was A Country" Is Meticulously Torn Apart & Shredded by tomakint: 2:42pm On Feb 14, 2013
alj harem: LOL it is very common on this site to find Igbos claim origins they know nothing about not to talk of being from that place.

Example

Akin egba
Adejoro
Ngodigha
tomakint
policewoman
etc

You all are the same, it is the same pattern. Tell him/her to answer my question of her place of origin and I would ask some questions about the place if truly he/she is sure of herself
So if the same 'dayokanu the psychopath' calls you a fool today, are we supposed to believe?

alj harem: You see, YOU ARE IGBO. I told you before that Yorubas especially people like me and likes of Awolowo know how the Igbo man thinks. Who care who is alone or not, who cares about allainaces here, have you been reading my post at all ?. An old biafran man published a book full of lies and you expect people to keep shut about it. You are one funny set of people I no go lie

Whatever you call me does not change who I am. I am Alj harem a nairalander that can chose to be anyone at anytime. I have stayed in Kogi so that is why I ask, what part of Kogi because they don't think like you bigots.

A book published to insinuate Genocide on a well respected former leader among the yorubas should now be sweept under the carpet because it is an Igboman that wrote it ? LOL indeed funny set of people

I just pray this country split so people like you and Achebe can have your country.

Any other group be it Ijaw, Ibibio and co that want to join a country where Igbos believe they are better than other groups can join and likes of Achebe can keep writing crap BUT YORUBAS WOULD NOT ALLOW SUCH if you involve them. Fact
You no go shut your trap for once, someone said he is from Kogi, yet you still have the shameless boldness to question his identity on a faceless forum, are you a wizard? huh

Olaolufred: THANKS FOR AGREEING THAT THE PEOPLE MENTIONED IN THE BOLDED PART ARE NOT INFALLIBLE.
WHAT I HATE IS WHEN THEY CALL SOMEONE WHO RUSHED INTO A WAR WITHOUT THOROUGH REASONING AND PLANING A HERO,
THEY WANT THE OTHER TO BE THE DEVIL.
OJUKWU IS A BIG CULPRIT OF THE UNFORTUNATE WAR.
AWOLOWO'S ALLEGED ACTIONS OR INACTIONS ARE REACTIONARY.
EVEN ZIK, THOUGH HE WAS MADE TO ESCAPE THE JANUARY 1966 COUP BY PLAN DID NOT SUPPORT BIAFRA WHOLEHEARTEDLY.
IF WE MUST HEAL WOUNDS, THEN BALMING OTHERS ONLY FOR WHAT YOU CONTRIBUTED TO IS AN INJUSTICE.
@ the bolded, how so now? He hever wanted war in the first place, he never wanted to be anybody's President in a country he so much believed in, he made many passionate pleas to the 'clown' (Gowon) to see how to stop the indiscriminate killings of his people all over the country especially in the northern parts where the Igbos had their businesses bases then, yet the Clown did nothing despite promising he would looked into it, and you still want the same Ojukwu to believe in that same country where his kinsmen were treated like properties? If only I can dish out thousands of e-slaps to knock some senses into you, indeed you are not thinking properly, this is pure logic and yet you can't figure it out undecided

ypzilanti: My question is this: Has anyone in Nigeria ever been charged to court for withdrawing salaries as ghost worker? We always hear that they discovered ghost workers in states and FG. Somebody opened an account and was withdrawing the salary...why do we never hear of who the people/person is?
That's why they coined the term "Ghost Workers"! Can you see a ghost? Of course they exist, but with false names hence you can never trace them to a personality except you are part of the scheme, that's is one of the duplicitous tendencies of our brothers and sisters up North!

The Man Jonathan and the Myths surrounding him!
His political journey began in 1998; he was not the type that cut his political teeth while in the academics (no sign of student unionism and activism) at least going by his portfolio. He has always been the quiet type while in the university however, fate has a way of beckoning on him the clarion call to serve and right from his days as deputy Governor to Governor of Bayelsa State and vice-President to acting President and eventually President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, GCON, has not looked back to right many wrongs in the checkered political history of this country. The political party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on whose platform he contested for the first time in his political career had come under barrages of criticism for lack of people-oriented policies and not delivering the goods when the occasion arises – no thanks to the 8 unpalatable years of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo!

However, the electorates chose to look beyond the party (PDP) and its shortcomings but consider the worth of its pair of candidate, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Namadi Sambo as a worthy combination of good governance and transparency. He gave an open hand to the judiciary to operate without influencing their judgments; he respects the separation of powers as enshrined in the rule of law! He remains the most criticized, maligned and vilified President in the history of this country because of his presumed “lukewarm” approach to thorny issues, yet he forged ahead to deliver the goods. His administration so far so good had touched many lives positively through his YouWin, Sure-P, Agricultural, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Educational Investment Initiatives and not forgetting the shocking revelations of sleazes going on in the financial sector (pension, banking etc), oil sector (oil subsidy fraud, where over 140 individuals and companies were alleged to have defrauded the Petroleum Support Fund to the tune of billions of Naira), legislature (Farouk Lawan’s case etc) under his watch unlike past leaders who are selective in beaming corrupt Nigerians practices before the public and so far so good, a worthy electoral process that portrays us in good light before the comity of nations!
