WHAT THEY WON'T TELL YOU IS THAT THE LOCK DOWN WAS SUPPOSED TO PREVENT COMMUNITY SPREADING, BUT IT FAILED.
IF WE CANNOT MASSIVE TEST (50,000 TEST/DAY) WE CANNOT CONTAIN THE COMMUNITY SPREAD EITHER. This is not the first tweet confirming this. It has been obvious that we're on a very long haul |

patriotic007: This covid 19 pandemic issue in Nigeria is not clear to me 1)Why is it that politician are the ones bringing out the figures? At least we should be briefed by a well known doctor on what they are going through, the dangers health workers are passing through in attending to this large numbers of allegedly infected people,And what they need in order to perform their duties. 2)Why is it that no single clip or pics of this covid-19 patients on sick beds or ICU beds has surfaced on the media space in Nigeria, the way we see it on CNN and other foreign media instead of showing us chats of yellow green and red. 3)Where are the dead covid-19 patients buried? And. Why don't they show their remains been moved from the hospital like we see in other countries that really have this covid-19. 4)Why do some states have the same figure of infected people for more than a week now?does it mean that the first case didn't interact with anyone at all.? 5)Why haven't we heard of a single health worker been infected yet in Nigeria with our weak health care system and insufficient protective kits,or is it not the health workers taking care of the large figures of infected people? Only your number one point is correct oo |
Health › Re: COVID-19: How False Negatives Are Complicating Testing by tomdon(m): 1:15pm On Apr 11, 2020 |
Mynd44: This is the problem when you start using rapid test kits
1. False positives: someone who is negative and the test shows positive is quarantined and kept with people who have and is exposed to it
2. False negative: someone who has and the test shows negative and is free to go. This person walks around and infected others freely.
But what is done in some countries is molecular testing and not the rapid testing using antibody count. This shows exactly if the virus is present. This is doing in Nigeria.
To make sure people are finally healthy, Nigeria tests the poo of the person. As taking a nasal swab doesn't work anymore since the virus might have moved to the lower respiratory system and the lungs. So as long as the poo shows presence, we don't discharge here.
This is also the reason for the lockdown, stay home, if anyone 1. Falls sick, the person is tested and if positive, quarantined and the immediate people he/she isolated with are tested 2. If the person does not fall sick i.e asymptomatic, the virus will pass through. If the person spreads it, the same is don't for his immediate peoplebisolated together. Did you read the article at all or did you not understand it Whatever you mean by molecular testing |

Family › Re: My Landlord Does House Chores For His Children, Fetches Water For Them by tomdon(m): 7:29am On Apr 10, 2020 |
Micky002: There is this scenerio i usually observe with my landlord and his children which always makes me curious and also raises unanswered question within me. This prompt me to post this here.
My landlord is idoma by tribe and has six grown up children, three boys and three girls. He should be in his late fifties or early sixties. Here is the issue.
This man despite having grown up boys and girls always do his chores by himself while the children will be lazying around engaging in trivial discussions. This man will wash his clothes by himself while his girls, the youngest being twenty years of age will be chatting with friends in the compound. This man will go to fetch water with kegs using a wheel barrow every morning while the boys will sit outside doing nothing.
Meanwhile the water he fetches is used by every member of the house. This man can go up to three to four trips while the boys will be busy arguing about Manchester United and Chelsea with friends.
What baffles me the most is that they see nothing wrong in this because the man doesn't complain and his wife, their mother is also witnessing everything.
My question now is, is this an acceptable norm in their (Idoma) culture? For a father to be doing the house chores while the children will be playing. I'm asking because where I come from, it is unacceptable. The man may be doing it for exercise, doing chores by himself is not a big deal but his children should be taught how to be responsible. He might be intentionally serving a punishment that he imposed on himself |

Undergraduate girls might not be as bad as NL paint them, at least I know few of my colleagues (girls) that are now married, many are seriously engaged (according to them).
