TV/MoviesRe: Which Nigerian Actor Or Actress Can Win An Oscar by tomiobj(m): 4:10pm On Sep 08, 2014
phrezzz: So i was just watching the movie 12YearsASlave. Am not much of a movie freak so you would understand my slowness in watching this movie at this time. The script to the acting to the directing was so on point. Was very proud (Did my research that Narthop Solomon) was a Nigeria-British actor but what drew my awesomeness for the film was Lupita Nyong'o the Kenya Beauty. Her interpreting the Role was Superb. The whipping scene was class shoutout to Mcqueen. And i most totally say she deserves the oscar award. For a second i tried to match any Nollywood Actress who could have acted as Pasty and brought in so much life to the character.
none of dem will win it. Oscars 8 black pple

PoliticsRe: Since When Did Boko Haram 'attacks' Become Equivalent To A 'take Over' ? by tomiobj(m): 4:01pm On Sep 08, 2014
publisher: Ever since 2009 Boko Haram has been attacking several Northern/North-Eastern towns at will. Most times they attack such towns, hoist flags, hang around and flee, sometimes they lurk around until Nigerian security forces arrive and chase them out-yet no one ever presented the narrative that Boko Haram had TAKEN OVER such towns.

Unfortunately, today, Boko Haram through its massive media propaganda partners have included the term 'TAKEOVER' into our national counter-terrorism vocabulary. Thus, if a small band of terrorists decide to conduct their usual deadly raids on a small remote town or village in North Eastern Nigeria, Boko Haram's media network quickly gets to work and tells the world that Boko Haram has TAKEN OVER yet another Nigerian territory.

The strategy here is for Boko Haram to continue to disperse small/medium band of fighters to many remote towns and villages, while their media partners simulteanously continue announcing to the world that Boko Haram has 'OVERRUN' more Nigerian territories.

Innundating the Nigerian polity with multiple media reports of takeovers and overruning of Nigerian territories is meant to plunge our security forces into a state of confusion and disarray with a pinch of hopelessness. This can cause a large number of Nigerian soldiers to say to themselves, "Why bother, these Boko Haram guys are everywhere." -The Nigerian army's morale will gradually continue to dampen and at a later date the insurgents will abandon those smaller towns, regroup and attack major towns like Maiduguri,Yola and Damaturu in full force.

This is Boko Haram's strategy and I hope all Nigerians, especially those with ownership or access to media outlets (online and offline) are listening.

A simple counter-propaganda strategy from all patriotic Nigerian media outlets (and the rest of us) is to continue reporting every single Boko Haram attack for what it really is "A COWARDLY ATTACK" and NOT equate such attacks to territorial gains.

Afterall, in spite of Boko Haram's alleged control of several Nigerian territories, we are yet to see the head of their caliphate (Shekau) relocate or move into one of the airconditioned secretariat offices located in territories he claims to control.

Again, let's join hands and fight Boko Haram with everything we've got.

PoliticsRe: U.S. Pentagon Finalizes Plan To Fight Boko Haram -by Attorney Patryk Utulu (USA) by tomiobj(m): 3:45pm On Sep 08, 2014
PatrykUtulu: U.S. PENTAGON FINALIZING PLAN TO HELP NIGERIA FIGHT BOKO HARAM
(U.S. Operation Likely From New U.S. Drone Base in Niger Republic)
--Attorney Patryk Utulu

Pentagon sources have confirmed that USA is in the final stages of a plan to wage open DRONE STRIKES WAR AGAINST BOKO HARAM. The secret discussion has been on-going between President Jonathan and President Obama and President of France. Finally American and French Intelligence are satisfied that the Nigerian Military can be a capable and reliable partner in the war against Boko Haram.

Based on established protocols the U.S. Military Joint Chiefs and the Joint Terrorism Task Force (Chiefs of CIA, NSA, FBI, etc.) will formally present the Plan to President Obama for review and approval. TWO LIKELY SCENARIOS:
(1) To launch a war Mr. Obama will need U.S. Congress authorization, which would involve debates. Some members of Congress may not approve as election is near.
(2): Pres Obama may use existing global anti-terrorism powers to launch a border security program to help Nigeria combat terrorism.

Option 2 is the likely scenario because Pres Obama favors Hellfire Drone strikes for their agility, precision and devastating power. A Drone can move stealthily and fast, deliver killer strikes and photograph its attack all within 5 minutes. Also the United States Military has just completed a New Drone Base in Niger Republic. It is also noteworthy that Hellfire Drones won't endanger U.S. soldiers because a drone can be operated from a computer screen from deep inside Niger Republic away from the conflict zones of Bama, Gwazo, and Niger/Nigeria/Cameroun/Chad border crossings

Pentagon sources confirmed that the U.S. Military Intelligence highly commended President Jonathan for maintaining absolute secrecy on the Plan while France and USA conducted hundreds of necessary reconnaissance flights to study the logistics and movement of Boko Haram fighters.

Car TalkRe: Your Opinions: Can Innoson Compete With Giants Like Toyota & KIA In Nigeria? by tomiobj(m): 3:36pm On Sep 08, 2014
DStarrx: It was some weeks back that the Chairman and chief executive of the Innoson Group of Companies, Innocent Chukwuma, broke the cheering news of his company’s intention to roll out its first set of made-in-Nigeria cars and SUVs. This effort is the first of such in the country. Though Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM), Innoson’s vehicle production subsidiary and Nigeria’s flagship indigenous vehicle manufacturer, has over the years been into the production of passenger buses and trucks, they’ve never delved into the production of cars and SUVs on a large scale. This expansion into the automobile industry is a welcome development for both the company and Nigeria.

The need to encourage, develop and grow our local manufacturing sector can never be overflogged. Economic figures reveal that only about 15% of Nigeria’s annual GDP is contributed to by the manufacturing sector. When compared to the 21.5% of India, 27.5% of Brazil, 40.6% of Malaysia, 31.6% of South Africa and 45.3% of China, this becomes a paltry figure.

An emerging market is spurred by its manufacturing sector, not the service or agricultural sectors. The service sector, itself being mainly serviced by proceeds from the manufacturing sector, and agriculture (which contributes a whooping 30% to our economy) cannot drive the economy of a large poor developing country like Nigeria. China, Brazil, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, Mexico among others–still very much developing countries–got where they are today because of the strengths of their manufacturing sector. Nigeria is often included in the list of emerging markets along with those countries, but its production industry is yet to kick off. The economy still very much revolves around the service sector, agriculture and petroleum, and we produce less than 10% of what we consume.

Many forward-thinking countries with a huge oil wealth have started looking away from the commodity by adopting various measures. Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates transformed their lands into tourist havens with revenue accrued from oil sales. Norway utilized its own petrodollars in boosting its production industries, leading to the emergence of many engineering and construction companies. At this point in time when oil proceeds are dwindling the world over, Nigeria should be working towards a bright future without oil. This, I would love to believe, the government is already looking into,at least going by some of the recent initiatives they’ve put in place that are enabling local businesses to thrive within the country. Innoson is itself a beneficiary of such initiatives.

In Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM) lies one of the biggest opportunities yet for Nigeria’s indigenous large-scale manufacturing industry to really kick off. Now that the government has laid the foundation, what is expected of Nigerians is our encouragement by patronage, kind words and constructive criticism, not skepticism and malicious dismissal. The bitter truth remains that if we do not patronize our locally-made products, no-one else will. India’s most internationally visible brand, the Tata Group, started like Innoson and many of our local manufacturing companies. Same with Japan’s Toyota and Nissan, the USA’s Ford and many others. Their initial and sustained success depended not only on the ingenuity and determination of their founders, but also on the support of the populace and this made the economic transformation of their various countries possible.

However, it goes without saying that the biggest determent Nigerians have in patronizing made-in-Nigeria-and-by-Nigerians products is their peculiar shoddiness. This inapt reputation has often led to the agelong preference of foreign products over locally made ones. If IVM is to win the trust of Nigerians and stand the test of time, it must prove that it is different from what we are already used to. This it must do by convincing us of the safety, durability and performance of their products.

In addition to that, I share in the concern of many about IVM’s marketing strategies or an apparent lack of it, especially online. I recently googled in futility for keywords like “Innoson vehicle showrooms” and “Innoson car brands.” The resulting information was scanty and brushed over. There is also little or no a television advert promotion, billboard push or newspaper placement. I remember seeing tons of front page newspaper adverts by popular brands like KIA, Ford and Hyundai announcing their entries into the Nigerian market many years back, now they are household names. You can’t count five cars on our highways today without encountering one of them.

In today’s highly competitive and innovative business world, marketing is king. These are the signals customers and potential investors are on the lookout for. We are in the internet age where no online presence means no credibility. Mr. Chukwuma and the entire management should start thinking global and take advantage of the possibilities that abound in the internet in wooing investors home and abroad. He needs to stop thinking of the business as a personal enterprise or what Nigerians call a “one-man business” as well. The possibility of listing the company in the Nigerian Stock Exchange and selling its shares to willing members of the public should be explored.

If the company is successfully listed in the NSE, I’m sure that a lot of Nigerians will be interested in investing in a promising marque such as IVM. With that comes more money and with more money comes greater opportunities. The company can then move into automation, decrease the near 100% reliance on manual labour and open up more factories across the country.

For Innoson, the success of the IVM brand can only mean more progress. For Nigeria and Nigerians, this means a more competitive automotive market, lower cars prices, promotion of indigenous companies, more foreign investment, the emergence of a potential internationally recognized Nigerian brand, more jobs and ultimately more development.

TV/MoviesRe: Is Nollywood A Worthy Movie-industry? by tomiobj(m): 3:41pm On Sep 02, 2014
Djicemob: I think the answer is not far fetched.

Hi peeps,i'm not writing this text as a movie expert or so but as a neutral/avid observer of the nigerian movie industry(Nollywood) which coincidentally finds it self in a country which i love and which happen to also be my fatherland/motherland(gotta have in mind the feminist lol).I would sincerely state that its been a while since i took nollywood seriously,as a matter of fact,i started watching nollywood movies with a comic mindset after the good ol days of Igodo,Ijele, died wretched, last burial, karashika, domitila, ayamatanga, glamour girls, vuga, the price, blood money, cry for help et al.

Gone are those days when you watch a nigerian movie and your heart skipped at one point or another or you cried or almost cried as a result of the highly packed suspense, intrigue, creativity, sorrow, mind captivation, romance, action and so on that were pervaded in those movies.I can't really say the same for movies been produced nowadays. If its not the mind-numbling 'blackberry girls',it would be a 'fazebook babes' fiasco or the '2go babes','girls on fire','baby oku','campus girls','oga on top','bold5 babes' et al Where you see mature peeps trying out childish and fake attempt in acting.

But lemme not bore you with what you already know,as you all know that comparing nollywood in terms of QUALITY with most movie industry abroad would be quite pointless.Don't be deceived when you see nollywood ratings go high, those ratings are solely based on QUANTITY of movies released.I'll just go straight to present to ya'll EIGHT'8'reasons why i feel the industry(Nollywood) is all messed up now.

1.Poor story lines-You watch a whole movie without making any sense of it just to be hit in the face with a "Watch out for part two" allusion at the end.

2.Iteration of actors/actresses-You get to see the same set of actors/actresses in every movie.Kinda boring to watch init?

3.Lack of creative directors-Lets admit it our direction ain't creative enough to pull a full length movie and keep you at the edge of your sit, sometimes the first 20mins of a movie, you see nothing except names, adverts and so on before the actual movie starts and last 30mins.

4.Lack of talents-When i see some of the actresses and actors in a nollywood movie,am like "Is this person supposed to be there at all?" Why not give the role to someone who can actually interpret the role? It musn't be Mercy johnson or Tonto dike you know. Each has their strong point.A non-famous guy or girl on the street can be taken and tutored for a role and he or she would interpret the role better, that's how stars are made(Ask the Americans).

5.Lack of proper funding-Most nollywood movies i have seen have that cheap looks thereby lacking the proper interpretation and quality of story lines.

6.Lack of qualified personnel-I sometimes wonder if all these movie makers(Producers, directors, script writers, other crew members, actors and actresses)are actually qualified like attending movie making schools or having theatre arts degrees or do they have what it takes to make a good movie?

7.Too money minded-These movie makers obviously looks money minded than quality minded.I guess that's the reason why new movies surface almost everyday from this side of the planet and in the end,the all turn out to be crap cos of the short time frame used to make them.

8.Over Acting-They tend to over cry, laugh, cough and do most things in excess and more annoying,u'll see a supposedly village girl biting her tongue on that british accent thereby making the role un-natural and/fake.

Well peeps, these are my OPINIONS,lets have yours...
. Even tho nollywood is d 2nd largest movie industry in the world. It is usually seen as a mockery outside nigeria. Don't let me get started on yoruba movies. They like flashbacks too much, everything flashback. And you found out the whole movie was a flashback and the person telling the movie dies. A person gets shot on the arm (gunshout sounding 'pa') the person wakes up in an hospital with bandage on his head

RomanceRe: The Agony Of A Nigerian Fat Girl by tomiobj(m): 3:23pm On Sep 02, 2014
handysuzy: Saw this post on Linda Ikeji's blog and thought to share it here

Article written by Jennifer Ogoo Okolo. Enjoy...

"The Fat girl ends up miserable year after year. The society has neglected the fuller woman. This has resulted to fat girls feeling depressed, left-out and downcast. The average big lady spends most of their years in solitude, angry at themselves, the society and even their shadow. Many are being laugh at, ridiculed, jilted, abused and sent back indoors where they are depressed and even get fatter. The society is such a big nightmare for this group of people which is saddening."

When they go for shopping which is a very beautiful and fun experience for almost every lady. But for the fat girl, it’s a rather sober experience. In many cases, sizes are deceptive to the extent that a size 12 dress will be tagged size 18. She has to through every cloth in the store before she finds what fits her. Sometimes, she ends up not seeing any flattering outfit. Again, the sadness begins.

Then she turns to her tailor to make a good dress for her. A beautifully styled dress she saw in a magazine page. The tailor makes it, it’s still not flattering. Sarcastically, the tailor says, “I find it difficult sewing for fat girls, it is too hard”. Again, the sadness begins.

Her soon-to-be-married best friend calls, “Wendy, will you be one of my bridesmaids”? “Don’t answer of course you will”. She is excited.“Will call you up later so we go choose the dresses with the other girls”. Her heart drops. Shopping bridesmaids with the other girls, she knows will be a huge nightmare because she is the “fat girl”. While shopping, The saleslady says, "We don't have your size, so here's the biggest we do have," and she gives it a try. Of course, it never fits. Her underarm fat is spilling over, her back fat is folding over the waist, and she can't get the thing to slip over her butt. But it looks beautiful on everyone else! And she is left feeling guilty for being more than a handful. Again, the sadness begins.

At NYSC orientation camp. The fat girl is handed her dress bag. She opens it. The kaki trouser is as small as a size 6’s whereas she is a size 18. “Ma’am, dis kaki is too small for me, can I get a larger size”, she says to the platoon mistress. The lady murmurs, “Exchange with someone else”. (lol, we’ve all experienced this). And she looks around, no one has her size. Most of other corpers, she may ask will reply saying, “NOO!!! I no carry orobo size”. Everyone laughs at her. Again, the sadness begins.

Every fat lady go through post-traumatic dress disorder. It is the condition that occurs when a person, usually female, feels disappointed and traumatized while leaving a clothing store. It could happen when she views old photographs and asks herself "What the hell was I wearinghuh" It could also be the traumatic stress she feels between the moment she post a picture on the Internet and the moment somebody likes it or responds. Fat people go through this stress all the time and the society is not being fair at all. 80% of Heart-related illnesses which fat people suffer are because they spend most of their years depressed, not just about their size but because of social prejudicial.

It’s a fair list, and the truth is that any time lists like this come out, I don’t take it serious, because it’s one person’s idea… No extensive research was carried, no votes were carried out… Lists like this are posed to be decided collectively by stake holders and industry heads alike… And since y’all didn’t tell us how y’all came about this list, I’ll give it “fair”……. That said, Ice Prince and flavor are supposed to be on this list, Tiwa savage is also supposed to be in this list.. Burna is supposed to be in this list… Davido’s spot is spot on

Any way I guess it’s your own opinion. Case closed. But your opinion isn’t enough I must say. Imagine where Wizkid is, number 4. Imagine reminisce and Oritse Femi making the list without Patoranking and Runtown. Are you sick in the head?

Music/RadioTop 10 Hottest Male Artistes In Nigeria.along with the comments of other people by tomiobj(op): 3:04pm On Sep 02, 2014
When a roll call of music’s finest and best has to taken, it’s an inevitable feat that some must just be mentioned before others. Call it competition or whatever you may but as much as these acts keep striving to be notable personalities without motives of outdoing each other, you can’t help but notice the strategies employed that makes them outstanding and ultimately puts only one person at the leading spot.

TooXclusive starts off the new month by continuing it’s top 10 music franchise series by presenting Naija’s hottest male artistes in the ‘A’ category.

10. SEAN TIZZLE

Sean Tizzle sealed his entry in the music scene with a series of breath taking events. From the release of Sho Lee and the controversy that later trailed the track’s success over song writing credits, he rode on the chariots given him by producer D’Tunes and using the platform of Difference Entertainment to carve out his play field. Sean’s sound are majorly African influenced and when they’re married with his comfortable tenor range, genius finds a way to be reached in his sonorous offerings. Consecutively, he released Mama Eh/International Badman, Komole and Kilogbe all to critical acclaim. Then came the Headies… and he won! His title as Next Rated Artiste was met with a variety of indifference. But like we never expected it, he came through with his debut album The Journey only after three previously released singles managed wading through the music storm. He’s remained resolute in his career art releasing follow up videos to tracks off the album including Take It and Perfect Gentleman.

9. ORITSE FEMI

Music taliban, Oritse Femi sure won’t be offended if we refer to him as one taking the bull by it’s horns. Re-emancipating himself from the league of has-beens after a long hiatus would be that moment when his smash hit Double Wahala stormed the music media space with a cataclysmic force. The street classic dedicated to afro beat legend, Fela got industry lovers scampering for downloads. In the wake of the 2014 year, he enlisted the services of O.B.O crooner to power his Sexy Ladies track. Following after would be Double Wahala Remix with a D’Banj feature leaving us unsure if this was born out of popular demand or the need to extend it’s waning glory. Reeling off the sour-tasting frenzy, along came Body & Soul + Redi Dance; tracks tailored after the successes of his previous hit singles. At this point, Oritse Femi had risen fast to becoming sought after. Ice Prince cornered him into assisting vocals on Tears For Naija – a freestyle cut for the #BringBackOurGirls campaign. 2face mentee, Joe El didn’t pass up the opportunity when it came calling and the result would be the OJB Jezreel produced Oya Now. Story Story is no longer what we thought to be a most unusual collaboration as both Iyanya and Femi showed properties of chemical elements, oil and vinegar; both going together but not mixing.

8. IYANYA

It’s safe to say that Iyanya has grown out of his Project Fame repute having fashioned an art and style relative to his music craft. Iyanya bade farewell to obscurity a second time when the vocal single that broke his career waters, Kukere launched him into the deep. Co-owning the Made Men Music Group music label would be the next big thing following the release of his commercial debut album Iyanya vs Desire housing music hits Jombolo ft. Flavour, Ur Waist ft. Emma Nyra, Somebody ft. Tiwa Savage and Sexy Mama ft. Wizkid. While there’s a bit of déjà vu in the sounds Iyanya creates, his visuals are crisp clear and crystal clean (even though not literally) try Lekwa Ukwu and Away. He’s become an act sought-after for vocal features while his most unusual take to Story Story – a recent collaboration effort with music taliban, Oritse Femi is fast growing on fans. Iyanya’s Instagram has become a female folk solace; he pleasures the social populace with eye candy treaties of his ebony skin.

7. REMINISCE

*sighs* Can I first state how difficult it was to get a nice photo of Reminisce in a suit? Well, that tell us how much of a radical he is. When TIME Magazine lists you as one out of the seven World Rappers You Should Meet, then you know it takes a little more than just creative prowess and style eccentricity to achieve such feat. Reminisce first got us with Kako Bii Chicken – a supposed rap track with a vocal delivery so not relative to the usual style of rap we’ve come to know. The song was received with critical acclaim becoming his breakout single and later housed on his debut album Book of Rap Stories to which songs like If Only and 2Musshh followed after. When it seemed we’d seen it all with Reminisce, then came 2013 with Alaga Ibile – a breakthrough album with instant hits like Eleniyan ft. Wizkid and 3rd World Thug even recommending the videos for Daddy ft. Davido and Fantasi. Recently, he put out Tesojue; his first official single for the year 2014 and it’s left us in eager expectation of what else he holds in stock.

6. PHYNO

Phyno’s most striking feature might be his eccentric sense of style but you find out there’s more to his stunnaz, shades and the Mohawk when he’s spitting out lines in his local dialect over synchronized music bars. Phyno is one superstar who has enjoyed loyalty from fans that cut across his Eastern roots. Prior to the release of his debut album, No Guts No Glory, his singles Ghost Mode ft. Olamide, Man of the Year (Obago), Parcel, and Anamachi Versachi catapulted his fame while songs like O Set ft. PSquare, Icholiya ft. Ice Prince & M.I and the controversial Authe ft. Flavour after the album release, kept him on a chilling fourth gear cruise. In like manner, his features have shown his versatility in switching music genres especially on Dr Sid’s Surulere Remix, Mo’Cheddah’s Destinambari, Leriq’s Turn Up and B-Red’s Iwotago. Lest I forget, “Alobam“ has become his business franchise!

5. BANKY W

For as many that didn’t know, there once was a time when Mr Capable sold copies of his album from out of the trunk of cars. This was far back as 2003. When Banky returned to his motherland to put his music art into career and pursue tirelessly, he made indelible marks with hits like Ebute Metta (a cover of Rihanna’s Umbrella), Strong Thing and Sound Sultan’s Very Good Bad Guy. His third studio album R&BW -  a collection of fine love classics housed under music’s many genres was a sure breaking point, with Low Key and Yes/No as leading singles for the pack. Banky is a standard conscious artiste and this is evidenced from videos like Good Good Loving, Jasi and Yes/No in their top notch direction and styling. What’s more, he shows promising rap prowess on Jaiye Orimi and Niyola’s Love To Love You.

Banky is also a patriot and a passionate advocate for human rights and especially, the youths. He has in the past, not only spoken up for but also championed causes aimed at revamping their degraded national structures. He co-owns Empire Mates Entertainment music company.

4. WIZKID

Bad as I don’t want to agree, this Starboy has found ways to keep making it to industry’s exclusive lists. They don’t call him a Superstar for nothing. When he got out with sound treaties like Pakurumo, Love My Baby, Don’t Dull, Tease Me and Holla At Your Boy on his debut album, he fashioned a trend in the new school afro beats section and we were itching to know what this lad had up his big sleeves; this was 2011. Now fast forward to 2014, he’s successfully built a rep for himself that can stand the turf in any international scene worldwide and he’s done this with only one KID-album, a bazillion records and features now too numerous to mention. He also sits atop the management board of Starboy Entertainment under which he’s released hot materials like Show You The Money, Drop ft. Wale, Starboy’sCaro as well as spanking videos Jaiye Jaiye & On Top Your Matter. In the features category, he turned things up with assisted vocals on Jesse Jagz’ Bad Girl, Maleek Berry’s The Matter, Chidinma’s Emi ni Baller Remix, Iyanya’s Sexy Mama, Omawumi’s Warn Yourself, Sound Sultan’s Kokose and Kcee’s Pull Over. This proves he’s got some business management acumen.

In other unrelated news, we’re still in earnest wait for his sophomore offering!

3. 2FACE IDIBIA

African Queen crooner turned music legend 2face, is perhaps Nigeria’s number 1 artist (although on a number 3 spot) who can boast of exclusive international collaborations. The release of his 6th studio album, The Ascension which peaked number one on iTunes Nigeria and secured the 12th spot for top selling albums in the world after it’s release, records impressive features with acts like Machel Montano, Bridget Kelly, Kim Almarcha, Shurwayne and Fally Ipupa with our picks being Go ft. Machel Montano and Let Somebody Love You ft. Bridget Kelly. In like manner, he’s been featured on T-Pain’s If I Got It with Akon, Chingy’s Falling Remix with May7ven and Becca’s Bad Man Bad Girl. While it’ll be difficult to shake off the feeling that 2face has got a thing for “rain” because his songs with the titles Raindrops, Rainbow (the Remix ft. T-Pain) and Dance In The Rain clearly suggests same, he delivers with stellar vocals embellishing it with his Idoma accent. This tiny and probably overlooked detail has kept him endeared to music fanatics across the globe and put him in mentorship of Joe El – a budding musician with same tribal roots, whose looks and vocal difference can’t almost be told apart on his track Hold On.

2. OLAMIDE

First Of All, introduction! Apparently he doesn’t need it no more. He’s Olamide - the Baddest Guy Ever Liveth at just 25, the only Yahoo Boy No Laptop, baddo certified and a celebrated street hop act who is steady writing the revolution of indigenous rap music in Nigeria’s blossoming music industry. While controversy trails him over being Naija’s most consistent artiste, King Baddo’s career can boast a record of features and releases that trump imaginable fathom. Are we talking clean cut visuals for Sitting On The Throne, Anifowose, Eleda Mi, Turn Up or even Stupid Love? Is it hot releases like Awon Goons Mi, Bora Freestyle with Patoranking, Story For The gods, Make Us Proud ft. Wale, Yemi My Lover, Duro Soke, Voice Of The Street or even his features on Lil Kesh’s Shoki Remix, DJ Xclusive’s Ibebe and Phyno’s Ghost Mode? Olamide whipped out the best of his play kit to test his wits when he flagged off YBNL Nation – label home to Kida Kudz, Viktor and Lil Kesh alongside producer, Pheelz. With these, he has shown impressive advancement from the boy who crooned Omo To Shan with Wizkid and Eni Duro.

1. DAVIDO

Davido fizzled in the music space like a typical one-hit wonder with his ‘pave-the-way-for-me’ track Dami Duro. The interesting part would be that Dami Duro turned out to be a premature release; a badly played antic by friends of his who leaked the audio on the music media space which eventually shot the rich kid into beaming stardom. The song would later be housed on Omo Baba Olowo (O.B.O) – his debut studio album on his self-owned music label with other tracks like Back When ft. Naeto-C, Ekuro, Overseas ft. Sina Rambo and All of You. He finally got our attention having slinged multiple winning shots in music’s court and then continued his winning streak with what would be become the two biggest singles of 2013; Gobe and Skelewu with first-class videos to go with. Davido has had his fair share of a newcomer’s treatment. There’s been music leaks here and there and a not-so-amicable split with former manager, Asa Asika. Still, he’s risen above the storms to forge ahead shelving plans for a second studio album in order to promote label mates Sina Rambo, B-Red, Danagog and Deekay.

While we won’t forget quickly the afro ballad Aye and Tchelete with Mafikizolo, he’s held down strong features on songs like D’Prince’s Gentleman, Runtown’s Gallardo, Oritse Femi’s Sexy Ladies and a brisky look at Lil Kesh’s Shoki Remix.
