Gunbiz: how were u able 2 achieve ds feat, wat books did u use and how was ur time management? Took a couple of practice tests, I also read Kaplan's tips for the AW section. I don't have any time management practice; for the verbal section, I usually just rush through the SE and TC parts leaving enough time for the reading comprehension. Renewable0216: Hey Bro! Congrats on your GRE. Wishing you the best in your overall application! Abeg, I'm having serious issues with Verbal especially RC. Any suggestions on how best tp improve? I seriously need help!!!! Plus is there anyone in Warri, Delta State we can study together? I don't seem to have issues with Quants yet... except my tiny mistakes. I usually have issues with the RC passages too (my score is 10/20 on average), I'd advise you leave TC and SE and practice more RC at least for a couple of days. Always read the review after each test, this will enable you to note the subtle differences between answer choices. |

Not exactly as I'd like: V - 161, Q - 165, but I'm hoping the AW score would be better than the previous one. iCool: Hi Topiipii, how did your GRE and TOEFL go? TOEFL was sweet and terrible! I had 20 on the speaking section, writing 29, Reading 29 and Listening 30, I wish I can have your speaking score right now. I'm trying to complete my SOPs now, that's the last part of my application. |

CHYMZZY: you dont have a say here without facts, and were da hell did you get hear that Tinubu was a former PDP supporter or member? Don't bother yourself asking for facts because I won't provide any, it is known that there was a secret alliance/agreement between both parties (ACN-PDP) before the 2011 presidential elections. You're free to ask around from anybody that really knows the political landscape of this country. P.S: I'm not holding brief for Tinubu, I just seem to be the only one here who noticed that his support for both men either openly or secretly seem to be ending in the same way. |

Pr0gressive01: I don't know why yorubas will never learn, it beats me how they go about beating their chests shouting 'Sophistication' while everything is pointing to the contrary.
Benjamin Adekunle took his hatred for Igbos to another level during the civil war when he went about shooting women and children at the outskirts of Biafra while the hausa/fulani were watching. After using him, they disgraced him out of the army without any benefits such that he was looking for small contracts to feed himself before he died. At some point, his son was begging for donations to be made to take him to just Ghana for treatment. We are not even talking of taking him to the USA, Germany or UK oo, just to ordinary Ghana that we can trek into he could not afford it.
Obafemi Awolowo was also used by the hausa/fulani to wage the war against Igbos were he suggested that Biafran children by starved which lead to the death of so many. Awolowo was hoping that the hausa/fulani would compensate him by supporting him to become president but it only turned out he had been used and dumped. The northerners threw all their support behind their son Shagari and Awolowo was never president. As though this was not enough, Babangida was about to arrest Awolowo(which would have been the second time the northerners would be arresting him if it had happened) and to avoid this disgrace, Awolowo had to commit suicide by drinking poison(I think Ratak).
Abiola the yoruba aere onakankanfo thought that he had the north all behind him only for them to cancel his electoral victory and throw him in prison. The hausa/fulani still went ahead to serve him a very special tea which he drank and died. They went a step further by dispatching his wife Kudirat to join him in eternity.
This brings us down to Bola Ahmed Tinubu aka BAT- jagajaga borgu. Like FFK said, Buhari is the spirit clearly behind Tinubu's woes. The hausa/fulani are out to destroy Tinubu and reduce him to one of those agberos running around Lagos shouting 'owomida' at the top of their voices. Again, another yoruba leader has been used and is being dumped.
I keep wondering why yorubas continue to mistake treachery for sophistication and cowardice for wisdom.
selah It would be very wise for you to think thoroughly before you comment on a public space, don't just go about spewing rubbish you heard from somewhere. The same Tinubu supported Jonathan in 2011, what came of that support? |

cuspy: Hello Guys,
Please is it out of place to send one's GRE scores to selected schools 'a year' prior to one's application?
Or you should send your scores only when you're ready to formally apply.
For instance, if my scores are sent early 2017 but I intend applying In 2018, it shouldn't be a problem right? Scores are kept for between 6 months and 1 year before they're discarded. You should check with the school you're applying to, they might just have it on their website. You can also contact the graduate student co-ordinator by email (this is the best option). |

Luckygurl: Exactly! That's what I've observed And atimes, it also depends on ranking. White hard hat for long term employees, green hard hat for short term employees, white hard hat with a yellow band across it for managers and supervisors. And if you get to another company, it becomes a different ball game all together. safetyInspector: Please there is nothing informative about this, it is rather misinforming. There is no internationally acceptable colour code for safety helmets. Each organization decides the colour code to follow. I have worked in a company the Safety uses white, another company green and currently wearing red in my company. Yes white colour is mostly used by Supervision team, but I have seen some companies with blue, yellow for their supervisors and engineers whereas blue and yellow are used by trade men in another. Shell and LNG is a case study, as at 2007 when I left NLG Bonny Complex, Plant Operators uses Blue helmets and as at then Shell staff were using yellow. There is no law guarding the colour of helmet for any profession, trade or position. fr3do: this is not a rule! the company where I'm attached to, red is for safety and fire other colours are used by anybody. Yinkame123: While i agreed with you that helmet are colour coded for identification purposes, however it is not casted in stone that industries must applied the colour coding to their own system. Similarly, it is not contained in any legislation or standards that the way you listed it should adhere to. The colour coding varies as deem fit by various companies. I'm not sure if 'colour coding' is applicable in Nigeria yet, that's why I did not indicate the country. I shared the info so that people know that things like this exist, The UK for example uses one. |

I read the practice book https://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/practice_book_GRE_pb_revised_general_test.pdf and took a couple of sample tests on the Verbal and Quantitative sections, I never had to prepare the way most people do probably because I knew a few things about the topics the test was based upon. Now, it seems the test is harder so I have to do more than take practice tests. |

tblvck: not long ago I finished studying "Solid Geometry" section of Barron gre book, taking the practice questions at the end of the chapter I did terribly, scored 7/15. now I went through the solutions and I understood it and saw my faults but then in the real exam, one gets only one shot per sitting. is there any step by step procedure that can be used to simply the problems given and how relevant is the topic itself during the exam, in other words do questions come out regularly under this topic? Your best option is to practise as much as possible, questions come from different topics, there's no predertermined pattern. |

drhopeful: Thanks for this information. So I just logged into my account to checkout the diagnostic service. Mehn....as much as I hate the GRE exam, the GRE body itself is just awesome! I doff for them!
So I practically failed all my RC questions!!! Terrible.... Just 2/20 right. Gosh! I seem to do well in SE and like 50% in TC. In total for both verbal sections, I got just 17/40 right. The reason I scored 150 was because I seem to get the highest difficulty questions right. Lol.
For quant, I had 17/20 right in first section and 15/20 right in second section. The second section was tougher and I failed the highest difficulty questions.
Helps to know where to improve on for those considering rewriting. I knew I sucked in RCs and its confirmed that I really suck!!!!! I shared the info because I thought you might find it useful, I somehow forgot to mention you at the end of my post. What is SE and TC? I know RC stands for Reading Comprehension, but I've never heard of those before. I'm getting scared right now just reading your (score) breakdown, I hope I'll be able to get a better score than before on the Verbal section and AW. |

seeker88: Thank you very much for this detailed explanation.
However, I followed the steps outlines above but didn't get the desired result. After clicking on "View test centers, test dates and seat availability", a page opened for the next step: In the 1st box on the page ("Please select a test" , there was no drop down box to select from, so i had to type "GRE General Test" in the text box. In the 2nd box ("Find test center at or near this location" , I typed a location following the clue you gave, and finally clicked on the "find available test centers and dates" tab beneath d page. But finally, the last click didn't effect any change on the page as the page could not load to return search result......or could it be from my browser; I used mozilla firefox & internet explorer on PC...? Like you said, perhaps, it a general issue and they might still be working on it. Once again, thanks plenty bro!!!
Please any further assistance from a recent user of this site will be highly appreciated.... I am just seeing this, it seems your post was initially hidden. You may need to update your browser to see if it will resolve the issue. I took the liberty of checking the available dates in case you might find the info useful. seeker88: Hello mates,
Please who has used the GRE section of the ETS site recently??
I just noticed that I can't easily view the test centers and dates as before....has anything changed
Before now, I could monitor and check new test dates, but not any more....the search link "Find Test Centers and Date" doesn't return test centers and dates as before.
Please can someone kindly educate me on how to search for test dates and centers from this site Your swift response will be highly appreciated... There's been a change on the site, I think they're still working on it. To view available dates: click on "test Centers and Dates", next click on "View test centers, test dates and seat availability". Changes have been made on this page. In the first drop down box you have to select a test, in this case choice will be "GRE General Test", you have other options if you're writing a subject test. In the next box, you have to type a location; typing Nigeria (or just the location e.g. Lagos, Ibadan, Benin) will not give you any result. If you're using a computer, you'll get suggestions as you're typing making your job easier, but if you're not you can use the following: Lagos, Nigeria Ibadan, Oyo, Nigeria Benin City, Edo, Nigeria Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria Abuja Capital Territory, Nigeria After entering your desired location, you can then click on "Find available test centers and dates" on the bottom of the page. |

just saw it now, not surprised. Yaya Toure has been left out of Manchester City's squad for the Champions League group stages.
The 33-year-old Ivory Coast midfielder has yet to feature for City in a Premier League squad after the first three matches under new manager Pep Guardiola.
Toure was squeezed out by Uefa rules on the minimum number of locally trained players in European squads.
Although teams can name up to 25 players, eight of those must be homegrown and City's lack of numbers in this area following Joe Hart's loan move to Torino meant they could include only 21 - with Toure the odd man out.
City qualified for the group stages after coming through a play-off tie against Steaua Bucharest, where Toure played in the 1-0 second leg win at the Etihad Stadium.
The English side, who reached the semi-finals last season, were drawn in Group C along with Guardiola's former club Barcelona, German side Borussia Monchengladbach and Scottish champions Celtic, where Toure's brother Kolo now plays after leaving Liverpool.
Man City Champions League squad:
Claudio Bravo, Willy Caballero; Bacary Sagna, Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta, Aleksandar Kolarov, Gael Clichy, John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi; Fernando, Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan, Jesus Navas, Kevin De Bruyne, Fabian Delph, Leroy Sane, David Silva, Fernandinho; Nolito, Sergio Aguero, Kelechi Iheanacho.

Was told that I can't get a late September date as I had planned, so we are working towards early October. I am running late by my calculations, wanna apply for at least two 2017 summer admissions (fall session is toooo far). I will advise you to apply for Fall 2017. Most schools don't admit int'l students in summer besides, you stand a better chance of securing funding in Fall. P.S: I wanted to post that you might not get a September date when you posted a while back that you're targeting Sept. 22, I kind of passed on it afterwards (probaly because you mentioned PH). I registered on July 26 and got Sept 29 as the earliest available date. |
