RomanceRe: What Has Been Your Most Embarrassing Moment Ever by tosat: 8:55am On Sep 20, 2010
it happened last year on the train. For some reason, i could not program my bladder to wait till I got to the town i was traveling to so i went to use the loo and forgot to lock the door. So this oyinbo man freaked out when he opened the toilet door and I was using it. Moreover, it was a toilet for disabled so i could not quickly shut it. I had to wait till the stupid electric toilet door finished sliding open by itself, then i just pressed a button and it very very slowly closed again.

The most embarrassing part: It was a very packed train and there were plenty equally embarrassed people standing all around the toilet trying so hard not to look at the girl with her pants down. Thank God my coat was a little long, it would have been much worse  grin
Christianity EtcRe: Another One: Redeemed Pastor Arrested Over N8m Fraud by tosat: 8:01am On Jul 29, 2010
a lot of nigerians are unbelievably gullible. a poorly written and incoherent article without any credible source and people are criticizing and condemning!

Does one have to be a rocket scientist to realise we dwell on inconsequential matters and waste scarce time pointing accusing fingers at one another's faith/religionhuh?

I look forward to a nairaland where the favorite links on the home page are not the soft sell headlines I see across 'em likes of PM news, but links that are intellectually stimulating, purposeful links that can unite youth to bring about some measure of change to their environment in their own little way.

my point- It does not change the price of fish in the market if the article is true or not. Let's dwell on more meaningful things.
FamilyRe: For The Married Folks: What Happens When The Novelty Wears Off? by tosat: 5:19pm On Feb 06, 2010
great topic. I had to reactivate my almost 3 years dormant nairaland account to comment here. I would say it takes quite some hard work, with God's help of course. You do your part to always try to recapture that feeling by practising the wise tips fellow nairalanders have already contributed plus:

1) Dressing up for him for absolutely no reason!
2) Little suprises throughout the day, text msgs, cards, small gifts
3) Have date evening as often as you can without the kids , stick to it religiously.

Last tip, but most important, consciously pray that God renews your love for one another like old wine.
CareerRe: Project Management (pmp And Prince 2 Certification) by tosat: 12:46pm On Aug 21, 2008
elebiola:
How do i get to be certified in project management. Anyone with useful information on the materials, where to write the exams, the cost for the training. Can u study on your own and go for the exams and all. Anything information would truly help right now. Free books on PMP and prince 2 materials. What are the prospects in Nigeria now and years to come?
Thanks
Hi Elebiola,
im very much in your shoes. Infact, my search for PM info brought me back to nairaland after a 'self-imposed' exile  wink

@Kashif,
i discovered your very much impressive posts while on this quest. thanks to you,modu and an olomo(sumthin) fellow im much more enlightened about PM grin

@Elebiola,
i decided to write Prince 2 and i got  a quote from a training center(can't remember the name now, would say when i do) and the total for Foundation n Practitioner exams cost N340,000. shocked shocked shocked
The woman broke it down n said that its for the 2 exams, your study materials and training.still the tarining alone comes to at least N200k . i still think thats expensive and would really appreciate if there is a cheaper quote in the house!!!

Yes, you can study on your own i hear. Personally, i would prefer a mix- classroom and self study.  so please if there is anyone who has a cheaper quote about the cost of training, please hola!!!!!!!

thanks.

Hello Everyone!

How's the house doing today?! another week, your next level is becoming more visble with each passing day,

Edoblakky:
i want 2 say a big congrats 2 Robbielex.i'm so happy for you.
2 all hopefuls who are yet 2 be contacted,something happened precisely on 26 February.Having waited without any news from Shell,i was advised 2 call Shell's H/R.I did & was asked 2 send am email 2 whoever invited me 4 my SRD.When i sent the email,by a default setting i received an email stating that i was not successful.
I was so angry that i sent another email asking them why they had 2 wait 4 my mail before telling me that i was not successful,2 this ,they asked me 2 call a certain number 2 which i refused.Making them know that i was & am successful even as my friend in SITP confirmed.I wonder what is going on in Shell.Why did they have 2 contact some & forget others?Why didn't they send at once all the mails or at least within a short period?Why are they giving us room 2 doubt their credibility?Anyway,i'm not moved by the mail.I'm only moved by God's WORD that tells me that all things are possible 2 him that believe & i'm a believer.But one thing i know is that if God has given me the job,then no body can deny it me.Lets keep praying
yes, edobakky i totally agree with you, being only moved by God's word is the only way to make it in life oh, (I know exactly what u are going through  Believe grin)  We just gotta keep trusting God for the very best for our lives (which He is already busy sorting out anyways)

Its been pleasurable having like-minded folks on this people on this thread, y'all add some brightness to my life somehow and i take advantage of every opportunity i have to everytime i log on to nairaland to see whats happening with you great people be it weddings n all grin

Y'all have made this period enjoyable for me, and i can't appreciate you enough

I pray God takes us to our next levels in every aspect of our lives and even the levels we have not humanly conceived, yet He has concluded shell and beyond (God's awesomeness simply beats my imagination!)

@ robbielex,
really don't you think its time i unveil your secret to the thread grin grin grin? im out of credit. would call you as soon as i can load. Hope you are through now?

Have an unusually favored week, house!

@deinwei,

Hi pple,

@ Oyin
I know two people shceduled for yesterday, 16th jan for procurement trainee analyst.

Yes, they checked all the documents including their i.v for the test (with all these multiple invites u guys have complained about, just take along the most relevant wink. One of my friends was allowed in cos he had all requirements, the other was not allowed in as she made a 2:2 and as she said, they turned away quite a number of them.

To the test, he said there was no skill test for procurement trainee analyst position. it was basically SHL format q's, verbal and numerical.

All the best, people! wink

Mister,
quite enough of us have very good jobs on this thread as well, very good i say again. (i dont need to mention my coy wink) However, if you are that content where u r, why did u apply to shell? huh huh huh

i just think everyone on this thread has something in common- to get into Shell[sub][/sub]irrespective of where we r coming from(for us that have seemingly good jobs wink) so lets keep that in mind and enjoy the waiting period.

But then, after all said, this is just my opinion wink

Let's keep in mind - its a free world.

Good evening everyone.

@cutesy and all Fin/Hr folks
My friend had his interview today and he said the result is coming out like btw 10-15 days time. heard there's an SRD day after the result of your interview comes out.  Been trying to figure them Shell out but huh huh huh

Hi guys, seems u people have free internet to browse with, otherwise i would not understand why this page's become so boring and blase. We've filled this forum with too many things that does not relate to the subject and so it doesnt excite as it does before, else how can we explain the fact that people resume to work in the morning and first posts a good morning greeting on this page. If you don't have a new fact even if its an hearsay to post forget it and if you do go ahead. There's no end to prayers for the things we desire and that is the more reasons why prayers shld not be found on this page. Those are not prayers, just wishes; when u pray you'l be dead serious about what u say and not just utter it flippantly. We need facts relating to the result of the SRD, renumeration, how the SITP program runs and other vital information about Shell that would stimulate us the more to pray(in our closet). Shell will come and go, our lives does not depend on it however good it is. If you dream it you'll achieve it. It works all the time. Wish you guys a good day.
Geez!  shocked shocked shocked are you angry with shell or something? take am easy oh.
Personally, d greetings matter to me as i see this thread beyond Shell,  i see it as a thread where great friendships can be made, so if its all about Shell to you, thats ok u don't have to read all the posts then and if una no want prayer no need to say amen. grin grin grin, very simple!

You sef, u did not practise your first sermon wink, any Shell update for ushuh

fmonopoli:
Okay guys, I had a SHELL CAR ASSESSMENT. Has anyone in the house had the assessment?
I think yours might be different. i had SRD day like robbielex and there was an advice about what the day would be like in word doc attached to the invite. Capacity, Ability,Relationship was part of what we were interviewed based on but it was not called CAR assessment. It was called Shell Recruitment Day. It is quite likely you didnt write the selection tests, did u? How long did your interview take? Mine went from like 9am-6pm.

@ SITP people, dont get confused. thats Finance/Hr yarns grin

@cutesy,
i told him to join nairaland but he's not interested so i would jus try n get info from him n pass it on grin grin grin
my friend's venue was changed from ph to lagos yesterday. He is scheduled for 16th Jan. He got a mail saying his interview would go on for 45 minutes in total. 5 minutes about his career objectives, 30 mins for CAR qualities, somethin like that. im not sure of the breakdown. Have you gotten the mail? I'm thinkin yours might be like fmonopoli so you could ask him about his CAR assessment.

@majikprof
i hrd the same as par pay like N300k take home monthly for entry level, excluding some allowances.
Haba, na only SITP wan collect letter for medicals ni grin warn yourself oh grin grin grin
I have to agree with you, its likely you guys get called up before Hr/Finance hopefuls from the look of things. Hr/finance reconstruction just started this week i heard.

@tonia88,
i know someone as well who got invited for an interview. He was asked to choose his interview date out of a range of available dates in January, where u asked to do that? He was told they wanted to know his career objectives & plan to see if he could fit into Shell. His correspondence contact no is in UK so i'm really dont understand it myself. I'm not sure it would be SRD cos they have not sent u d WORD attachment so it just might like a regular interview.

@fmonopoli
I was also interviewd for the finance dept. Congrats as regards ur mail, at least u ve received confirmation you passed. I dont know the level of your work experience but i heard their on-going recruitment is for entry level only. I really cant say how long it might take them to get back to us, just try to relax, things would work out in Jesus name

@onavae
i herad the same as you oh! i hear say na mass laying off n reconstructurin would that place in January n recruitment for only entry level, so frankly guys, i'm thinkin maybe end of January, they would get back to us.I'm also thinkin they have like March in mind for resumption, all this is speculation oh! though personally, that would favor me sha grin

Happy new year everyone! may we always have reasons to rejoice this year!

Cheers,

Hello people,

This is my first and most likely only post on this undescribable thread. I'm one of your 'silent followers'.(I'm challenging the rest of my category to come out grin)
I joined nairaland end of October and somehow i've been drawn to the great minds on this thread(opoks,kuwena(im sure u wud get over NLNG and even emerge stronger),PGM, Kenosky,tombri,johnsonlaw,aniffy,wandel,tommylex,biolabee,pak,skeelo, pardon me if ur name is not included.

I didnt write the test and therefore have no personal interest in NLNG but somehow i've found myself checking this thread daily at work cos i recognise that great and intelligent people discuss here and i would like to learn from them somehow! grin

To the great ones that made it into NLNG, congratulations, remember the Sky is not the limit, there is more ground to conquer, don't get comfortable for too long when una start livin large oh!!! grin

To the equally great ones for whom God is working something unusual and beautiful other than NLNG, (it might not be apparent at the moment), congratulations.

This is one of your silent crowd applauding your individual intelliegence and greatness, I admire every single one of you.

Merry Christmas in advance, Please remember Jesus is the reason for the season and even beyond the season,

Cheers!
