pDude: Did you by any chance school in Nigeria? huh

Your answer will give insight to your statement.
I schooled in nigeria but i dont remember the toilets in my schools being as bad as that.

In college, the toilets didnt look like that in my dorm ( dont know about other people's), to the best of my knowledge.

As long as we had water, at least the things flushed.

Dont know about now however, maybe everything got worse.

pDude: They were used to brush teeth and wash yansh cheesy
I dont think people can brush their teeth in that toilet. When they can as well do it outside by the nearest bush if no bathroom is vacant?

I said brush teeth o, not use potty.
NYSCRe: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly Of NYSC Lagos Camp In Pix by tpia1: 3:25pm On Dec 11, 2012
Why did we have to see the inside of the toilet, dear.

And why are there bottles of water on the floor?

Why is there no dustbin?
PoliticsRe: Why Is The United States Called Motherland And Nigeria Called Fatherland? by tpia1: 3:18pm On Dec 11, 2012
Fatherland is germanic in nature, a lot of nigerian cultures have that influence.

Ask4bigneyo: Could u pls share d implications wit us...?
The "implications" are what was discussed earlier on the thread, namely the beliefs attached to it.

SHE didnt say she adhers to them, only that she has safety pins on her occasionally for when she needs some.
FamilyRe: Why Do Pregnant Women Attached Safety-Pin(s) To Their Clothes/wears? by tpia1: 2:37pm On Dec 11, 2012
coogar: so will you be attaching one to your cloth when you get preggers? if a woman travels abroad while pregnant, can she also ward off the evil spirit or are these foul spirits only present in nigeria?
I doubt it matters if i do or dont, since its not your business, is it?

FamilyRe: Why Do Pregnant Women Attached Safety-Pin(s) To Their Clothes/wears? by tpia1: 1:34pm On Dec 11, 2012
OILOFGLADNESS: my dear thanks for this post, i ahve been wondering why too,
i had knowledge of this superstitious believe cos i am fond of putting safety pin on my cloths so that i wont misplace them, on one occassion someone called me and told me that she respects me so much and believe that i am so principled, what happend, i never understood, she now asked me why i put pin on my cloth funny enof very close to my stomach
i told her nothing, that was when she told me the implication, since then i become so conscious of it.
I do that sometimes but dont place the pins where they can be seen.

CultureRe: Most Plausible Reason Why Some Binis and Igbos Have Fairer Skin Colour by tpia1: 1:54am On Dec 11, 2012
Exactly, she looks regular Nigerian.

Yet that "skin tone" is always claimed to be a sign of Mixture
not always.

it IS a sign of admixture, but at the same time, isnt the only sign of admixture.

neither is it considered a definitive proof of admixture.

besides, it can come out of a bottle.

in addition, all the extra stuff used by women nowadays, are designed to mimic admixture, so one needs to see the natural facie first in order to have an informed opinion.

Once again, Hair tells more about admixture than Skin Complexion.
true
CultureRe: Most Plausible Reason Why Some Binis and Igbos Have Fairer Skin Colour by tpia1: 12:10am On Dec 11, 2012
the prominent features are indeed very pronounced, but most igbos with prominent features, and who are light skinned, would still not be mistaken for mixed.

two totally different facial structures here, the only common factor is light skin, which is probably one reason for the confusion.

igbos have a differing range of phenotypes, but all are generally recognizable as igbo.

besides, people tend to ignore the capoid features in igbos as well, not sure why.
CultureRe: Most Plausible Reason Why Some Binis and Igbos Have Fairer Skin Colour by tpia1: 12:07am On Dec 11, 2012
all light skin igbos arent necessarily mixed.

however, a number of light skinned igbos are indeed, mixed.

what's the skin tone of the facebook lady? She looks like a regular nigerian to me.
TV/MoviesRe: Is Omotola's Reality Show A Hit Or Miss? + Photoshoot by tpia1: 11:53pm On Dec 10, 2012
her latest interview was ok.

has she thought of writing a book?

she tends to be quite concise, interactive and pretty thoughtful when she talks.

not sure why that other guy [the one who abused everybody] was calling her a diva.

Getting paid, not getting paid. Either way the story ends up, those kidnappers are bleeped till kingdom come. They aint living dis country alive or dead. And I bet as dumb as dey are to kidnap not jt a royalty of a rich community but d mother of 1 of the greatest women nigeria has ever had, they have not planned an escape route.

Dis is a shout out to dem kidnapper, dudes intro to planning such kidnapping : always plan an escape route first for u n d money even b4 planning d job.

Advice: jt let her go, u aint getting paid n their is notin in this whole event that will work out in ur favour.
goes without saying.

Christianity EtcRe: Why do Yoruba Movies Portray WhiteGarment churches as spiritual problem solvers? by tpia1: 11:42pm On Dec 10, 2012
PAGAN 9JA:
you dont understand these Yorubas. let me give you an example:

‎'Segun Osoba, a renowned Professor of History, once ended a narrative on a similar subject with an anecdote about one of the few Yoruba Ijebu converts to Christianity. This particular man became a 'Pastor' as is commonplace today; once, a member of his congregation vexed him (names and details withheld) to a degree that he had to take off his pastoral regalia (not sure what they used to call that), thus revealing the hitherto concealed attire of a Juju Priest (Pagan Priest).

That anecdote represented the suspicion with which the Ijebus held Christianity while yet practicing it.
not sure of your point, but yes, quite a lot of yorubas mix traditional religion with christianity.

however, its not yorubas alone who do this- most nigerians do the same.
Christianity EtcRe: Whats Your View On Household Wickedness? by tpia1: 11:38pm On Dec 10, 2012
being a christian doesnt mean you'll be immune from diabolical attacks.

however, you have the power to overcome them through Christ Jesus.

but if your lifestyle leaves loopholes for the devil to enter, then that's another matter entirely.

kind of routine, not unusual.

Abagworo: Igbos are not mixed and not even as light skinned as people make it seem. We have more light brown skinned people than most other Nigerian black ethnic groups but not in any way white skinned. Is singer Chris Brown light-skinned?
chris brown is mixed.
CultureRe: Most Plausible Reason Why Some Binis and Igbos Have Fairer Skin Colour by tpia1: 10:44pm On Dec 10, 2012
ezeagu: European genetic ancestry is the most researched and diverse in study, therefore it is easily identified when analysing peoples ancestral lines. No one, absolutely no one come up with anything less than 99% African, the other 1% being an error.
my point remains the results depend on the selection process, or test sample.

not to mention the research process itself isnt above review.
CultureRe: Most Plausible Reason Why Some Binis and Igbos Have Fairer Skin Colour by tpia1: 10:35pm On Dec 10, 2012
ezeagu: No it is NOT, unless you have DNA evidence of this from all the testing that has gone on on the coast. Again, even the Wodaabe scored low on Berber DNA, Igbo people (both dark and light) have been tested and there hasn't been any case of ANY European ancestry.
This is why i'm trying to pin specific looks and features to specific regions.

You cant make a general statement of this nature because its too vague.

What you mean is some Igbo were tested either rightly or wrongly, and no (or little) european ancestry was ostensibly identified.
