Nigerian case is sickening, nothing to be be happy about.

Honestly, the way u defend the nigthmares most times point to the fact that u directly or indirectly have something to do with it,
thread is about OBJ's late wife (who you're raining curses on btw. As for me, I no know the woman before).

You say you want the politicians to experience fire and brimstone.

so why you wan turn everything on tpia head?

abeg stick to the original program.

If you want to comment on nuzo's allegation, then do so on the relevant thread.

but wont wanna hijack the thread.
Do you mind letting women say which one they find better? wink

You yourself- would you prefer living in the same house with other husbands of your wife, or being one of the outside boyfriends.

Morality aside, which one is more convenient for the woman? Think crabs in a barrel.

The man leaves the woman with emotional scars regardless of how you look at it or disect it.
Or it is lack of education that made Abiola has more than one?
religion and culture? huh

and no, if you're not an enlightened woman, you wont know there's a difference. Being educated doesnt automatically make someone enlightened.

U are talking as if u can't see the chaos the politicians are in nigeria?

They are just lucky that nigerians are too docile to react,i wonder how long they will continue to be like that, docile and timid?
dont know what your definition of docile is, but in Liberia, which you referenced, the politicians and the ordinary people shared the same fate.

So your post here:

redsun:
She is just lucky she is dead, she should have paid her price here, like i know one day obasanjo will.

Do u remember sergeant doe of liberia?what happened to him will be too minor compare to what will happen to nigerian politicians when the bubble burst.
isnt telling the whole story.

There is hardly any difference btw a man that has 2 wives living under same roof and a man that had a wife and have a mistress 2 blocks from home.
Which is what most developed world are doing.
if you're not an educated/enlightened woman, you may not know the difference.

you shouldnt be scared to be happy even if you feel it will bring bad luck.

Life has its ups and downs and there's little people can do about it, really.

However, if you know people around are the type who rejoice at your misfortune and mourn at your joy, then be careful how you spill your news.

Politics › Re: Umaru Yar’adua Regime Launches $5 Million Online War by tpiah: 5:12pm On Jun 17, 2009
@ topic

I doubt if $5 million will suffice.

The anti-Nigeria group has much more than that as resources. Think oil income and various 419 and credit card scamming revenue. Not to mention foreign mercenaries who also have an interest in Nigeria.

Follow the money trail. Professional badmouthers have something to gain from doing so. That's why they do it.

I've said it before- oyibos will come and fix your problems for you just like they did in the past. Whatever they start they also stop.

Though the idea sounds new, it's already being carried out by tpiah, i_laugh and his numerous online IDs. Who doesnt know that these guys are working for the government?

culture, greed, poverty, pressure, revenge ,envy etc.

who was saying good sex? Forget that side. The sex isnt better than a single guy's own.

Unless na money or the thought of getting one over on the wife/wives, is what "sweetens" the sex.

wedding is a process, not a destination.

I doubt you can know everything there is to know about a person before marrying them.

Though of course you should know or find out his/her basic character at least.
did you guys read the topic?
she never said africans were ugly. she only asked why she was approached differently for her african looks and wanted to know if we africans get the same responses from AA the way she does. people started attacking her and someone suggested (davidylan) that "maybe they think you're ugly." It was that comment and other "west africans have ugly features" comments that brought her down.
most of you guys were not nice to her at all. lol
her story has a gigantic Q leg when you think about it.

The girl came here trying to hang herself on somebody's neck. grin How do they say it in Yoruba. There's a specific phrase for this phenomenon cheesy

The person or persons who called her ugly should marry her oh wink

Politics › Re: What Exactly Is Nigeria's Population? by tpiah: 1:34am On Jun 17, 2009
Is not knowing Nigeria's population directly related to our tradition of saying a man never counts how many children he has?

Just wondering if that ancient polygamic mindset is still affecting us today.

People believed counting households was taboo, and could bring bad luck.

Cant say the censuses have proved them wrong a la the constant fighting over numbers and the readiness to doctor results before they're out.

CyberG:
@ Tpiah. . .

I should point out that the issue is not with the browser itself. . .and I use multiple browsers at home and at work. This issue comes-up at work because of access restrictions that have been placed on such websites. . .remember that most big organizations run enterprise networks that have all kinds of 'toys' to monitor and control everything that happens on the network. Having worked with those toys for a long while. . .I am in no doubt as to what is happening but what can be done about it when I know the kind of news that is coming out of Nigeria? Sometimes, we may think that these people don't care or don't know but the reality is they know a LOT of the current issues and unfortunately, what they HEAR and SEE is BAD news!

At home, of course, everything runs fine. . .so since I noticed that access was blocked to Nigerian sites (e.g. Nigeriaworld.com), I just wait till I get home before accessing any such site.

Well, as for the ladies thing. . .though I know all kinds of crazy things happen in the dating arena, I am specifically referring to people who have not necessarily dated a Nigerian guy but they hear 'stories'. . .which they may not care to verify or just conclude based on the stereotypes that has come to live in their heads. However, there are still a lot of others who will not pre-judge solely on that issue.
I actually wondered if you were joking about the Nigeria thing. Thanks for explaining anyway.

yes, some companies do that because of the high level of fraud and scams associated with the country.
Romance › Re: What's the difference between looking African and African American? by tpiah: 1:26am On Jun 17, 2009
on the other hand, I do hope Tisha isnt trying to tell Nigerians they're ugly because the Michael Jackson thread hurt her feelings? The one about Jacko's kids.

But really, are Nigerians the only ones discussing them? huh

I'm just wondering why she came to vent on a west African forum saying her fellow AAs say she's ugly, instead of heading to blackvoices or some other AA site to ask them why they're calling her west African.

Doesnt really make sense.

Some white guy recently killed someone in DC because he was angry about race mixing. You wont see that one now- na cry you go dey cry anytime Nigerians talk.
