We reside in the southern states of the USA and never leave our bedrooms.

So,  this is no scam and when I said get I meant into serious relationship that will eventually lead to marriage. Do you think that American women and Naija men are too culturally different for my sister to imagine such a thing?
@ bolded:

good for you.

@ the thread:

maybe you should check the dating section for some tips?

Instead of the cultural blah blah blah, why not simply start a thread saying "American woman looking for Naija guy for my sister who meets these requirements. Here's my info, photo and statistics"

Much simpler, I should think.

Especially since Nigerian/American relationships arent that rare!

Different strokes for different folks I guess!

Culture › Re: What Is A Tribe? by tpiah: 2:25pm On Jun 04, 2009
una don come again with una grandiose delusion.

You are a tribe as long as you have a tribal (ie closeminded) mentality.

Before jumping on the racism bandwagon look at the countries which dont subscribe to this tribal worldview and see what ways they are different from those who have that.

Native Americans are called tribes and/or nations.  However, most of them live on reservations and limit their interaction with the general US society.

I once asked my anthropology professor(a white man) why the world calls us(the igbos) a tribe while nobody calls societies like the Irish of United Kingdom tribes.  The professor smiled at me and said in a quite tone, "racism."
Wasnt that what you wanted to hear? Oyibos are accommodating.

Tribe shows you are static, not changing. And holding on to ancient mores, boundaries and grudges. It shows the level of development, in a way.

Sorry to butt in o. But 73.4% of the people in that jail had not been convicted of any crime.
I guess that means they may not all be convicts.
so should all the Nigerian jails have similar breakouts? I know some of you would prefer criminals roam the streets at random all in the name of fighting the system.

Not to mention your statistics are faulty.

I dont know what makes Nigerians think they have so much right to anarchy as if they're seeing what nobody has ever seen before. Very lawless and indisciplined people.

What makes him incompetent?
the fact that a jailbreak of such proportions occurred under his watch.

150 convicts cant just be allowed to break out of jail like that and start terrorising ordinary people going about their daily business.

Hitler also emptied the jails by making the worst felons overseers and concentration camp bosses.

Enough with the sme sme going on in Nigeria. If the current crop of rulers dont know how to handle the country then they should invite the Brits or Russians to run it for them.

Jail breaking is a serious offense, but if it was in Britain, almost almost all of them would have served their years and moved on with their lives. Those still left behind will be provided with a comfortable environment to learn, work, earn money and recover.

Imagine a situation where the CG has to sympathize with them.
too bad Nigeria cant be physically transported to the British Isles and share their exact longitude and latitude!

who is that incompetent CG? when they replace the buffoon with a more brutal one now, the idiot will start babbling all over the place.

true.

However, unless someone is an albino (and even then), the sun does have an effect on skin.  Even on whites.

hence the scepticism and need for "maintenance".

Dude. He is a wanted man, and as far as am concerned, his case must have been very serious for him to make the top 10. Yeah there are similar criminals, but he appeared to have out-performed them.

Oga/Madam [sorry not sure which is yours smiley] I am not supporting, defending or denying your view, I am just wondering if there is a KNOWN figures like your post would suggest. Issue reported in the media are not exactly the ideal way to go. For example, during the recent report of Knife crime in the UK, outsiders would think it is something that happens literally every day. Yet in actual fact, it aint the case. Hence why I am asking you if there is a "proper stats" like you are claiming.
in what way do you think he's outperformed murderers and rapists? huh Plz explain.

There was an outburst of knife crime in the UK last year or so, with new incidents reported almost every day or was it every week.

So depending on how you look at it, the stats can apply.

But from my own perspective, I think there are more Nigerians involved in shady activities than there are those who arent.

vis a vis culture and secrecy.

And when they get busted, everyone shouts to high heavens from shock and failing to understand the scope of the problem.

I'm not saying other nationalities also dont have a significant number of legally liable criminals. However, Nigerians seem to be blessed with selective vision on most issues concerning themselves.

and to answer your question:

there are obviously no known figures for Nigerian crime in Nigeria, since much of it is disguised as something else which people find easier to tolerate depending on their viewpoint.

Erm. You are missing the point. He is a wanted criminal, what his crimes are somewhat irrelevant. He is a wanted man and that is the point.

Let us talk about his crime for a minute. Judging by the story, he appeared to have posed as a doctor in a mental home when clearly he do not have the right qualifications and know how. During his time as a "doctor" [a fake doctor that is] he may have made decision that have altered the life of a patient in a very negative way, he may have made decision that he shouldn't not have made as he wasnt even suppose to be there. Is that a horrendous crime enough for you? If it isnt, I wonder if you would be happy if a dubious doctor looks after you, or better still prescribe some medication for?

Who cares about voodoo? huh

You claim that statistics are showing that fraudulent, dubious and criminally minded Nigerians abroad [UK?] out numbered the honest and hard working one. Where you got those stats from is what I want to know.

What evidence? Surely it wont be too hard to point to "these evidences"?
I'm not missing the point. All I'm saying is why is he the only person listed on that site as being wanted for having fake documents? Surely he isnt the only person in Britain who's in that situation? Where are the others- everyone else on the site is accused of murder, rape and whatnot. Why is his own crime elevated to that status? huh

The only logical explanation here is the police want him for some other offences which they havent made public yet. However, that's still guessing, at best.

You may not care about voodoo, but that doesnt mean the majority of Nigerians dont.

The media evidence, crime records, 419 etc. Not to mention the many cases back home which most know of- kidnappings, ritual murders, armed robbery, scams, etc most of which are never prosecuted.

At some point we have to wake up and smell the coffee- the "good" Nigerians may be a tiny minority compared to the shady ones. We cant keep on denying this forever.

Denial fosters more of what we're denying.

Who do you want him grouped with? Obama, Fashola and The Queen? He is a wanted criminal and as such he is grouped with WANTED criminals. Duh

There are loads of hard working and honest Nigerians here. However, the reputation of the bad one have preceded that of the good ones.

As for your stats, it would be interesting to know where you got those from.
well, I dont think being wanted for having fake documents is the same thing as being wanted for murder and rape.

Is he the only one who has been arrested for this kind of thing in the UK, and where are the others? Why arent they also on Crimewatch?  I checked most of the other names there and they were all murderers and rapists. Is he accused of rape?

As for my stats, if you dont know the majority of Nigerians rely heavily on juju in one way or the other, then open your eyes.

And yes, all the evidence is pointing to the fact that the number of untrustworthy Nigerians seem to outweigh the honest ones.
