I believe the punishment is too harsh but I don't see any embarrassment to academia at all. It's purely a political appointment.

The fact is, if you are a commissioner or a minister, there is still a limit to your powers. There are certain decisions, approvals or contracts that you can't just make/give without informing the governor or president. I don't know about now, but few years ago, a commissioner can't even approve a contract or spending of over N50 million without the direct approval of the governor.

The only name there that you could see in a few parts of Ikwerre is Ejike but the rest are not Ikwerre names. Chinesi, Omuka, Enebenchu are Igbo names that do not make any meaning to Ikwerre people. Infact, as I am typing this now, I am seeing over 20 people on facebook who are from Enugu that bear Omuka but you are now denying them...oh I forgot that Enugu people are not real Igbos.

Nobody is forcing anyone to take IELTS every 2 years. It's your choice to take it or not to take it.

If you feel it's a requirement for what you are looking for, then take it. The last time I checked, even people whose mother tongue is English from countries like Barbados, Jamaica, New Zealand or even England do take it if it's a requirement for them to migrate to other countries.

There are other issues Nigerians are facing that requires your attention and IELTS is not one of them.
