There are 200m Nigerians with about half being youth. It is not realistic for everyone to japa. I have colleagues who also said they cant japa but of recent they are changing mouth. One in Chevron reached out to me, he wants to learn french for Canada express entry. The last time i came to Nigeria and visited him he was still anti japa. E go better

I remember the debate between Trump and Hillary where she accused him of not paying taxes. Baba agreed with his full chest and said you have been in Congress for donkey years, why haven't you changed the rules, your donors take advantage of the loopholes too.
The reason they are making noise is to give them an advantage at the polls, I Don't want to believe labour MPs and supporters don't avoid tax tax using the non Dom rules.

Two conclusions I have come to with govt and the economy are: 1. Government does not care about you 2. You can't tax your way to prosperity.

I was in a position like this years ago at one logistics company like that giving juicy routes to our people. Just one day where I knew the supervisors were watching, did everything by the book 100% ant our people didn't get what they wanted, I was called names by same people I had always given an advantage. They expected me to favour them at the risk of me losing my job then. People are selfish and of they don't get their way there is always tag you badly.

I agree with you more brother/sister by your economic asteteu in postulating simple elementary economy theory to averting make our beloved country a dumping grounds for all sorts of foreign goods to the detrimental of our local industries who juxtaposes to create employment opportunities for our army of unemployment youths Although ours is not a producer economy but

Available choices are predetermined in every western country, that's how they control their borders and labour market.

It is a free choice between coming/ staying in the UK and going elsewhere. As far as the government is concerned, they are not forcing or even asking anyone to stay in the UK, therefore they cannot be accused of deliberately steering anyone towards care or any other work route.

When comparing countries immigration policies, you need to first understand the underlying drivers.

Canada is a country of 40 million that lets in over 500k people yearly. When UK ended the PSW visa years back, it was the likes of canada that reminded them the market is hotly contested.
-The US satisfies most of it's labour needs by thousands of Mexicans and South Americans trooping and has the wage advantage to also feed off the UK and EU.
-Australia sits on vast reserves suppling many raw materials to China. Just like Canada, they have the wealth to scrape from the UK and other Western nations.
-The UK is not rich enough to source talent from any English speaking Western nation. They have left the EU hence no cheap European labour. They turning to Asia and Africa is not out of want but need.
