Yesterday, a friend told me of a fuel-less generator and as a kid, it has been my dream to create something like that to help the nation.

He is an engineer — Masters degree holder and going for PhD soon, but I told him to chill and focus on book business and cry.pto.

I trust him — grew up together, but as kids, the only time I didn't trust him was the day his dad gave him his Jeep to go to the nearest community to get something and he told me to hop in. Trust me, I was scared because I have never seen him drive.

Now the trust part is out of the way, let's continue.

After telling me about the gen, I told him I'm in. After speaking with the seller from Kaduna or Sokoto, I chose the 10KVA one for 150k.

Luckily, someone from Rivers state also placed an order and both will be coming together in 3 days time.

I paid half of the money 75k (50k to the company's account and 25k to the driver).

Light is not an issue in this place — there is constant free light here. Also, my generator uses both fuel and gas (I use dual carburetor).

I bought it for emergency sake. At times, when transformer spoils of poles fall, there is always outage for a day or a week.

For the Eco Tech fuel-less gen, it will be arriving in 3 days time from the North.

I didn't do research if it's a scam or not because I trust my man.

Unfortunately, I decided to check online after 50% payment and saw lots of accusations on the Eco Tech company of being a scam. I watched a video of the gen powering a house and liked it.

No, I'm not bothered about the 75k upfront payment I have made, but if it ends up as scam, I'll get them — not because of my money, but to prevent more victims.

Luckily, I feel like I can't be scammed. Even if someone ends up scamming me, I will just smile and work underground.

So, I'm waiting for my blue-colored fuel-less gen in 3 days time.

Forget about the 195v written on the Felicity charge controller. Don't give it input voltage more than 125v or else it will bring out fault light at every peak generation.
Since your VOC is 41.30v so I recommend 3s i.e 3x41.3= 123.9v.
Also since your charge controller is 100A,
At 48v the maximum solar panels used should not be more than 4800watts,
At 24v the maximum solar panels used should not be more than 2400watts.
At 12v the maximum solar panels used should not be more than 1200watts.
So if your battery system 48v I will advice you buy one more panel to make it 3s3p, if the system is 24v or12v your panel is more than the capacity of your charge controller if properly installed.

I just read on YouTube from a user with this same 100A variant.

These were his comments about a year ago "The most you can connect is 3 series. I tried 4, it brought the fault code 21 . When open current got to 171 volt. I use 100amps", although he didn't state his VOC.

My question is will this calculated 4s 165.2v increase on any condition (hold/hot weather) or will it only decrease?

Secondly is there a way to know/get the maximum daily yield from these Felicity CC?

Full Specs ==>
Maximum Power(Pmax): 380W
Maximum Power Voltage (Vmp): 34.74V
Maximum Power Current (Imp): 10.94A
Open-circuit Voltage (Voc): 41.30V
Short-circuit Current (Isc): 11.68A

On the other hand there's a 100A Felicity CC with below details,
Max Pv Input Voltage = 195V
PV Array MPPT Vol Range = 160-170V

My question now is, can Felicity 100A with above spec take the 8 panels using 4s2p config?

Or should I use Techfine 60A/80A with (Max PV Voltage: 150V) and go for 9 panels using 3s3p config?

Please I need the one that will produce optimally so I know the total number of panels to purchase and the exact CC to go for.

Ok gu3ss the minimum start-up volatge of 120v is what is keeping it going, but am fairly certain the performance would be sub optimal

Most likely, because Felicity IVEM3024 is the 3KVA variant that will give such HV.

If you can, add additional panel and connect 3s3p.
My setup was 8 270w initially and I rarely get above 1000w solar generation. I added a panel recently and change it from 2s4p to 3s3p. The peak instant generation has jumped up to around 1.8kw. That's more than 50% increase

#@Bolded, this is a very poor/inefficient setup, for a hybrid hv inverter of 500v voc, the avg voc of a 325w panel wud be about 42volts, so you would be sending about 160volts...which will drop to about 110volts when the inverter is working---. what is the nominal input voltage of the inverter?. whats the make/model

I installed my PV array in the series/parallel format as shown in the picture and it gave the following readings at peak

Isc=12.25A
Voc=96V

I am considering changing the arrangement to complete series since the MPPT CC can take PV input voltage of 230V

Would that be advisable?
