I disagree - this is a facility intended to provide a suitable meeting place for RCCG members when they come together. That is a valid use of RCCG resources for the benefit of RCCG members.

Brother, do not give the impression that the choice is between building facilities for brethren to meet together or following Jesus. Both are compatible.



Good admonition - however, contributing to this building is not equal to abdicating responsibility for one’s salvation to Adeboye/RCCG. Don’t conflate issues simply due to your opposition to this specific project.

superior1: Those are your opinions and you are entitled to it. The project is wrong because there are many hungry people in the land?. There will always be the poor in the land and while i support churches in sharing their burden, i don't see it as a reason for not contributing to church projects and expansion.

b) Ability to tolerate some members.
c) Time seems not to be an issue.
d) Demonstrated ability to lead.

Cons:

a) Not a fan of a lot of Catholics.
b) Yet to demonstrate an ability to work with Maclatunji.
c) Seems to be concerned mostly with matters surrounding the Trinity doctrine.

Pastor Kun: Nice thread @Stricklymi, seems a lot of hard work as gone into putting this thread together. However i have reservations about your appraisal of me. I don't have a problems with muslims and i have a lot of muslim friends and relatives. What i detest is the extremist and terrorist amongst them. In the case of maclatunji you are right i can't get along with someone of his level of hypocrisy and intolerance. As per date i registered on NL i resgistered with my original I.D sometimes in early 2007. pastorkun is a later day moniker. Finally i would like to recommend Stricklymi for the post of moderator he seems to have all the qualities a moderator should have, he has the ability to accomodate all views and is not in any way biased in his posts.

I have a suggestion to make that might prevent similar situations like this MWM/Mac debacle from happening again. Here it is;

-I recommend you create another section called Christianity for Christians where Christians can come together for discussions and debates, and supervised by a Christian. Muslims are already enjoying that privilege, so why not extend it to the Christian folks as well? What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

-The general religious section, which is currently being shared by Christians, atheist, Muslims(They have their own private club), Agnostics, Satanist, etc, should remain but unlike before should now be a true(real) meeting ground for debates from all people of the denominations I mentioned earlier. This is the section where a Christian should question a Muslim, and an atheist a Christian...and vice versa. This section should be better served if an Agnostic moderator(s) supervises it.

-A Muslim shouldn't be allowed to castigate the Christian religion in the Christianity for Christians section and vice versa, instead it should all be done at the general religion section. Any post addressed to Islam by Christians should be created there. The same goes to atheist and Muslims.

-Atheist will really like that because it will now give them the freedom to attack Muslims and Christians alike like they are wont to.

-Christians will like that because they now also have their own private club where they can discuss among themselves without looking over their shoulders all the time.

-Muslims are already enjoying that privilege and so would care more or less.

-Everyone is happy.

toba: Seun, as i posited earlier, if indeed you're on the verge of appointing new mods,(cos u said Jesoul was/is inactive) please appoint reasonable people that would not make you regret doing so.

Now on Nl we have different christians. the anti tithe, anti trinity, anti giving and pro everything. Make sure you dont appoint a bisaed person that the other party would feel cheated. Appoint neutral christians.

Like Lagoshia would say in the islam section, the sunnis are cheating the shia muslims.

Also dont appoint immature newbie, except the oldies that knows well about the politics of nairaland 2005-2008. Both Jesoul and MMW were part of the old generation and they did well. A_K_O recommended Jesoul in 2010 and she hasn't done badly at all.

I don't know what he is planning exactly, but we do not tolerate any threats against the forum made by people who are supposed to be the defenders and protectors of the forum. Most organizations have certain offences that are strictly prohibited and if you do them you will immediately lose your job.

Seun: Well I do. And I am not in the habit of waiting until our great forum has been damaged before dealing with threats. If a person is considered to pose any threat to the forum, such a person will not be allowed to wield the immense powers of a moderator. We have no tolerance for that.

Kay 17: Yes God can do whatever he wishes with us and it is a demomstration of his Strength. However, if you claim God has an absolute discretion over human lives to an extent that such discretion is beyond ethical questioning, then whatever the Amalekites did is irrelevant.

Also it is weak for God to seek moral justifications and approval before every action.
