Wow! a TALE of two secessionists fighting & championing for a course they deemed just & fair. One adopted a very brutal, violent & terror-like approach, killing anybody he perceived as working against his course(even killing his own ppl to spite his perceived enemy). While the other one, an illiterate, was more of a rabble-rouser cuz he's using common 'man on d street'... Okada riders, touts, artisans & d likes who saw reasons to align with his thoughts & agitation. He never used UGM to maim & kill his own ppl he thought were not in agreement with his action. He waged war against Fulani herdsmen using these ppl. In d end, one is enjoying freedom(u can say it's temporary), while d other is cooling his fin in DSS detention. A lesson there.

There are two types of doctorates /(PhD).
The traditional Doctorate is to gain PHD admission after masters and be conferred a PHD academic degree at the end of studies /project final year. PHD program may be 3 or 4years,etc depending on degree choice and country of studies. Eg a 4years PHD program in naija can take 3years for same course of study in USA, ETC


The second type of PHD is called Honorary doctorate. It is conferred by higher institutions to outstanding members of the public in recognition of Excellence contribution to society in different capacities/fields. Or extraordinary contribution to a particular field of study. Eg

Flutterwave and Andela co-founder Iyin Aboyeji who is Infact a graduate of Legal studies from University of Waterloo, but has made significant contributions in Tech space , Covenant or Unilag can decide to wake up today or tomorrow and award Honorary Doctorates on him in Computer Engineering or Entrepreneurship or computer science, Machine learning/Artificial intelligence,etc as they deem pleased.

Proff. Wole soyinka who made the nation very proud by winning Nobel prize in Literature, The government can decide to confer several lifetime achievement awards on him.Any university on earth, even in South Africa, even in Nigeria and not necessarily in his home state Ogun/Abeokuta can just wake up and decide to confer Honorary Doctorates on him in recognition of his outstanding works.

Everything nor be book book school school. Some individuals are really outstanding in society, and made remarkable contributions to certain fields/human & scientific & artistic endeavours without even studying something related.

Speaking about the CBN limitations to the BDC, don't forget that for some time now, they have been sourcing their dollars outside the CBN.

Even when they were sourcing dollars officially from the CBN, a single BDC operator may have up to 10 -15 different licenses.

Occasionally you find situations when almost all the dollars in the Wuse BDC market is mopped up because some big men came with large dollar demands.

The policy will certainly drive the Naira value down wrt the dollar, euro and pound sterling. I will not even be surprised if people buy Chinese currency just to evade taking monies to the bank.

The CBN had always acted as if adjusting monetary policies would strengthen the Naira against the dollar. The economics is so simple that they miss it. They speak big economic grammar to no effect.

In the case of Nigeria: government is the number One killer of the Naira. They made sure Nigerians are IMPORT dependent because they make most of their Naira from duties and sales of dollars rather than income and company taxes. Is there any nation that is import dependent but has a strong currency?

I hope the dollar doesn't hit $1 to N900 by January 1, 2023
