chommi: hello ,
I am having a bit of dilemma on the occupation to choose on the occupations's list.
I have a BSC in Economics from the University of Nigeria. I worked as a Sales Executive for 6 months Switched to one of the Discos and worked as a Sales representative for 3 yrs got promoted to a Sales supervisor and worked for 3yrs Now I am currently a Data/Business Analyst. I have been on this role for 1 yr and 7 months.
I am yet to see any occupation that closely decscribes what i have done.
Also i noticed that VETASSESS have not updated a role for Data/ business analyst.
So i am stuck between 225499 Technical Sales Representatives nec and 611312 Sales Representative (Business Services)
Pls can anyone give their suggestions on the way forward.
Thanks in advance
Also, pls if there is any telegram group or whatsapp group, pls i would like to join Technical sales rep is a level 1 occupation and your degree does not qualify. 611312 is not being nominated for any visa. your other option is to explore student visa. |

Currently I work as a plant control room operator in one of the leading FMCG’s in Nigeria and would like to know my chances of getting to Australia..I have been working for almost 3yrs now 2. Hilderbrand: Hello Tunlex01, Just a question. If you are residing in Aussie currently, is it good to lodge an EOI using "Australia" as usual place of residence? Or can one still use Nigeria? Let me know what you think because I have racked up to 80 points for 189 and 85 for 190 but i am yet to hear from them regarding 189 or 190 visa. Thanks. you cannot state you are offshore if you are onshore. That's misrepresentation and could lead to nomination or visa refusal. What is your occupation and which state? |

Bodacious1: Hi,
On this, is there a minimum duration for acquiring training in this profession? For more context, would a 3-month course be sufficient and 5+ years of verifiable work experience be eligible for TRA assessment? Thanks. very likely, I am not sure. It depends on the occupation you are assessing. A level 2 occupation requires AQF 6 for assessment than a level 3 occupation. It may or may not work. You can also call or email TRA. |

denzel231: the family member is in Melbourne and they were looking after her . The agent who did the initial visa didn't even brief her that she will have to move to Adelaide and now this happened all of a sudden. What would you advise? I don't think it's part of the agent's responsibilities to tell an applicant where to live. It's a no-brainer to live in the location where your school is situated. She needs to move to Adelaide asap before she loses the studentship. |

denzel231: Emergency please help..
A friend of mine got admitted in Torrens university and she's in Melbourne. She did her trimester 1 online and now she just registered 3 courses for the trimester 2 few weeks ago and she paid already. Yesterday, she got an email from torrens university asking her to change her course from online to face to face which is campus because refusal to do so, they might likely report to home affairs. She went online and checked her course, among the 3 courses she registered for trimester 2, only one was fully online and the other two had the option to change to campus courses but the thing is that, the campus is not in Melbourne. She's just devastated and doesn't know what to do. Please your advice will go a long way, thank you family. Why did she apply to a school in Adelaide if she has no plans to move there? Was she planning to graduate from Torrens while living in Melbourne? I'm trying to figure out your questions so I can advise properly. |

Oge90: Hello
I have a question. I recently came across a video. In it, something was said about health care visa sponsorship. It said you could leave/pause your studies if you got the health assistant, diasability support worker visa sponsorship. This is for people in Australia.
Is this possible? Wouldn’t one have issues with the school and migration if you got the visa sponsorship? yes you can stop schooling if your visa changes. My advise, make sure the visa is approved before withdrawing your student cos applying for work sponsorship does not guarantee it will be approved. I have seen employer sponsored visa rejected and the person could not go back to school because they cancelled their studies |

felixzo1: SC1: B.Ed from Tier 1 University = positive assessment. ( AQF 7 + ITE)
SC2: B.Ed from Tier 2 University (4 year course) + Pgde =positive assessment (AQF 6 + ITE)
SC3: B.Ed from Tier 2 University (4 year course) + M.Ed = negative ( AQF 6)
SC4: BSc or B.A from Tier 2 University (4 years course) + Pgde =positive assessment (AQF6 +ITE)
SC5: BSc or B.A from Tier 2 University (4 years course) + M.Ed =negative assessment (AQF 6 ,no ITE) not even possible to get M.ed without a pgde.
SC6: BTech/BEng from Tier 2 University (5 years course) + Pgde =positive assessment (AQF 6 + ITE)
SC7: BTech/BEng from Tier 2 University (5 years course) + M.Ed = negative( not possible without first doing pgde. No ITE, AQF 6)
SC8: BSc/BA/BTech/BEng from a Tier 1 University + Pgde =positive (AQF 7 + ITE)
SC9: Bsc/BA/BTech/BEng from a Tier 1 University + MEd = negative (not possible without first undergoing pgde)
Points to note You can only do M.ed if your background is in education example B.ed to M.ed Or B.sc to pgde to M ed. M.ed is not same initial teacher education.
For B.sc, B.tech, B.a your ITE is your pgde which is 1 year inclusive of 45 days teaching practice. Thank you |

felixzo1: I know you have a lot on your plate , you have helped a lot of people both online and offline regarding immigration issues. Your YouTube channel is wonderful, I have learnt a lot from there my self. I understand perfectly any degree from a tier 2 university is access as equivalent to Aqf 6 which is a associate degree. But there is a difference between B.ed and a B.sc. B ed has the initial teacher education incorporated into the standard 4 year courses in a tier 2 university ( seen as AQF 6 by AITSL) B.sc also is seen as a standard 4 year course (AQF 6 ) by Aitsl but without the initial teacher education incorporated into it as a standalone degree.
But when you add the initial teacher education at a post graduated level , it becomes a 5 year course now comparable with AQf 7 of Australia standard.( now seen by Aitsl as AQF 7). This information is even available on their site.(check list pages 7 ,
There is an option for AQF 6 qualifications + ITE.(initial teacher education ) please analyse all the information on have on this subject you will know I am saying the truth. I have someone that will assess before the end of the year .(I think ATM the pathfinder has information overload.) I'm responding based on the feedback from the assessor even after quoting their guidelines to them. Can you clarify with the following scenarios (SC) and state whether positive or negative assessment should be expected? SC1: B.Ed from Tier 1 University = SC2: B.Ed from Tier 2 University (4 year course) + Pgde = SC3: B.Ed from Tier 2 University (4 year course) + M.Ed = SC4: BSc or B.A from Tier 2 University (4 years course) + Pgde = SC5: BSc or B.A from Tier 2 University (4 years course) + M.Ed = SC6: BTech/BEng from Tier 2 University (5 years course) + Pgde = SC7: BTech/BEng from Tier 2 University (5 years course) + M.Ed = SC8: BSc/BA/BTech/BEng from a Tier 1 University + Pgde = SC9: Bsc/BA/BTech/BEng from a Tier 1 University + MEd = The aim is to be able to help as many people as possible. |

felixzo1: I have seen in South Africa 3 year degree and a pgce but not for Nigeria We have not also seen a refusal with pgde and B.sc or B .ed. Aitsl emphasis is more on the initial teacher education at post graduate level and teaching practice and English test. South Africa updates their Education profile with Australia Noosr every quarter so a 3 year degree meets AQF 7 whereas Nigeria’s profile has not been updated by NUC since 2013 August. No their emphasis is not initial teacher education on post graduate level. What they said 2 weeks ago when we went back and forth to dispute the result was that they will not consider post graduate degree if your initial qualification is not an AQF 7. So someone with an engineering bachelor degree (5 years) and a Pgde or MEd will get a positive assessment. |

Larry456: @felixzo1 @tunlex01 so with a 4years B.ed from University of ilorin, 45days teaching practice, IELTS band required by aitsl one can't get a positive assessment? And please what is the initial teacher education again? From recent reports, it won’t fly if your first degree is not from a tier 1 university. We even went back and forth over email to convince the assessor to use the MEd and the teaching practice but they declined |
