AussieJoan:
Questions for those who came with their spouse on a dependent student visa

1. Did you travel with the main applicant for the first entry? If No, how long did you wait before you traveled to Australia?
2. Have you traveled outside Australia alone on the dependent visa and what was the duration?

@tunlex01 and others
1. it's up to you. it can be 6 months, less or more.
2. you can travel anytime as a dependent, there is no restriction as long as the visa is valid. Just note that your travel times will also be factored into calculation when you want to apply for citizenship especially if you stay longer outside AUstralia. it may delay your eligibility if you plan to apply for Australia citizenship

Morp:
1. Not advisable. Proving that your generous uncle would leave you and everyone directly related to him to sponsor someone that just married into your family is not that straight forward and your application should be as simple as possible.

2. If you arrive Australia on student visa, you can transition to 491/190 without problem and you won't be the first. However, submitting 2 application at the same time isn't advisable.
In addition, @stevepeter2100, the timeline will determine if you can apply.
If you have a student application in progress which have not been granted yet and you get invitation for skilled visa, if you apply for the skilled visa, your student visa will be declined due to GTE as you will no longer be considered as a genuine temporary entrant for a student visa. However if you have landed in Australia on student visa, you are good.

Also consider your circumstance. You are currently claiming points as a single, ensure you update your EOI as soon as you get married because you are not allowed to enter into a relationship or get married if you get ITA for 491/190 until after you have landed in Australia. That's an easy refusal of your skilled visa for the CO.

If you eventually want to go ahead with the student application, ensure that you pick a uni in the state that has your occupation on their list and you can meet their criteria. The moment you land onshore, your chances go from 8 of 8 states to 1 of 8 states because other state will not nominate you except you live, work or study in their state. Only WA made exception to this rule in this financial year and that may or may not continue next year.

Just a few points to take note.

Good morning, please I'm new to this thread. I wanna relocate to Australia through the study route, after going through all threads, i still find some of the processes difficult. I would like if there's any WhatsApp or telegram group i can join, or anyone willing to respond to my questions.

My plans are to start now by gathering all my docs ahead of 2024/25 by God's Grace.
this thread is solely for skilled migration. You can visit the student thread for student application details.

Please I want to know the chances of being accepted in this category…

Please anyone…?

I have a BSc in Sociology and Anthropology
And a PD in Criminology
I have a 4years-present working experience with the Nigerian Correctional Service
Thank You
these occupations are all employer sponsored visas and the likelihood of getting a job as a security consultant from outside Australia is almost zero.

I think i have raised Social Professional NEC occupation with you. That's where Parole officer occupation is, however it's a level 1 occupation which requires a bachelors degree.

Is there anyone who has assessed a level 1 occupation with Vetassess with BSc (tier 2) + PGD?

I thought their request is clear.
Provide all that is asked for. They just need clear evidence to indicate the company exists. Bills you pay like PHCN, delivery payment, your company bank statement, pictures etc

Good day to you all, please I have a question, I want to come over to Australia for my master degree in quantity surveying, I am a female, I don't want to return back, my question is, is quantity surveying a good career in Australia, I mean, it is very easy getting jobs after study and will be easy to get work permit and leave in Austral after masters degree or should I switch profession. Thanks
QS is a fantastic job here.
If you have experience, I will advise you go through skilled migration instead of student visa except if getting a masters is really something you want.

pls this needs to be clarified.
From their checklist, it indicated that other other qualification leading to a 4 yr course should b equivalent to their AQF 6 which is associate degree + ITE. Pls @tunlex, if u knw anyone that has a negative outcome u tell us, or if there's a place we can get the information of what u r saying,u let us knw
I have reviewed the report again. It's the ITE that has to be AQF7.
The person actually submitted NCE and AQF7 and still got a negative assessment.
I have recommended applying again with just the AQF7 degree

Qualification and employment criteria
continued...
A positive assessment of both qualification level and
employment duration is required for a positive Skills
Assessment outcome.
Qualification
AQF Diploma or higher qualification*
Highly relevant major fields of study include:
» Building Surveying

I am a civil engineer though my job description is building Inspector. I didn’t do building surveying in school, what I did is engineering surveying.

Will this factor affect my assessment?

Cc tunlex01 and other gurus in the house.
It may pass for the occupation, so give it a go.

Was the engineering surveying in your transcript?

I really don't know. I'm just saying that the ITE is what aitsl insists should be on AQF 7 and other degrees can be on AQF 6. I thought maybe you know someone that has gotten a negative assessment with a tier 2 degree +pgde that's why the new update was put out. I also don't know.
I have just reviewed the report again from AITSL. You are right, It's the initial teacher education that must be AQF 7. Other non-education courses can be AQF6 and above.

I will modify the update.
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 2:56pm On Nov 15, 2023
@laurelbae, so I don’t debar you from assessing, pls give it a go with AITSL. Since you have a Pgde with that’s AQF 8. I’m hopeful it will pass.

Sorry o, this is contradicting what I understood from what was stated on the website in my opinion. Aitsl specified that the ITE should be on level 7, not that the first degree should be on level 7. Please correct me if I'm wrong
Are you saying with a tier 2 qualification but with Pgde, it will pass for assessment right?

First degree was 4yrs..
Nnamdi Azikwe University
YOu are not eligible then as your first degree is AQF 6 - Associate degree. AITSL requires first qualification to be AQF 7 - bachelors degree

update; pls give it a shot
The evidence I have is for people with NCE or BEd from tier 2 qualification.
Your degree + Pgde may fly.

I have similar situation. @Remix01, @vbabs, @Tunlex01, @Dollytee007, @Vincentosa
Am request to submit tax documents from Lagos State from my office, but my office is based in Abuja, during my stay in Lagos from 2008 till 2013 I worked in private firms and they don't have tax of pension scheme for workers, so I have no tax documents from Lagos State during that period, but my current job from 2013 till date with a reputable construction company has pension and tax, I guess they just have seen that from my payslip because they asked for Lagos State and delta state tax documents under my current job name, not under the name of the companies I worked during my stay in Lagos, I never worked in Delta, I only lived there as my place of birth.

Please I need someone to guide me on the best way to reply, I don't know if they are asking for this current job tax documents?
it should be for the current job cos Skills assessment only covers experience within the last 10 years. (ACS is an exception for people go through RPL)

So provide the tax statement or pension from 2013 till date from FIRS (being an FCT resident) to the assessor and add a few lines in the comment box explaining that tax is based on the location of the worker in Nigeria.

Did you read the MSA booklet before applying because this was stated clearly as one of the key requirements.

Hello everyone,

Please is this still valid for 2023-2024 migration? I have EOI 491 and 190 for Vic but I want to do 491 for SA.

Can I use the same email?

Also is the family sponsored 491 visa still active ? I can't find it anywhere except in the picture attached. I have family in Australia who is suggesting I do that since it will get me 5 more points.
Yes, it's still valid and depends on your occupation list.
For MLTSSL
One EO1 for 189, another 8 for 190 for each state and another 8 for 491 for each state (this is applicable if you are open to all the 3 visas and you have up to 65 points for each of them)

For STSOL
8 EOIs for 190 for each state and another 8 for 491

For ROL
8 EOI for each state.

Then proceed to check the state migration websites to check if your occupation is on their list and you meet their requirements.

Family Sponsored 491 will give you 15 points but your family member must be living in a regional area and be PR or citizen and you must be related. You just need to select it on your EOI

Thank youuu for the link.

I left corporate and officially registered the transport company with 8 staff at the moment so technically, I'm manager/Founder.

On the EOI part, I have a positive skills assessment and active EOI as an insurance agent (former career). On the EOI, I chose Vic - 190 Visa (70 points total) and 491 Visa (80 points total). On VIC's ROI, I chose 190 (you can only choose one visa type). I was wondering if I could do another EOI and choose another state to increase my chances without affecting my EOI where I chose VIC. Is it allowed and legal?

I know I probably should not worry but they've done 2 nomination rounds since I registered (was informed via mail) and I'm beginning to worry and consider my other occupation options just in case this doesn't work out.
Okay. If you have at least 3 years experience with documents to back it up, you can go ahead with the TCM.
hmmm..70 for 190 is a long shot. Apply to other states. You can create multiple EOIs choosing a state per EOI using one email address and password. Yes, it's allowed and legal.

Good morning everyone, I am considering skilled occupation in Australia but I don't know where to start from, I have the following credentials:
Educational Qualifications
1. HND (Office Technology & Management)
2. Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration
3. MBA (though the result is not yet ready but to be ready by December 2023)

Work Experience
1. Administrative/Account Officer (4years plus in private hospital)
2. Confidential Secretary (5years in government Teaching Hospital till date)

Age
39year old

English test
Not yet taken

I have searched the occupation list and find the following occupation relevant to my work experience:
1. Company secretary
2. Management Accountant
3. Corporate Services Manager

Please I need advice on the most suitable for positive assessment and the assessment body.

Thank you for your timely response
Company secretary is not related to confidential secretary - they are not similar roles so your experience will not count for that
Management accountant - not eligible because this requires an Accounting degree or ICAN/ACCA which you dont have.
Corporate Services Manager - it's a level 1 occupation and because you don't have a bachelor's degree, you need to have at least 12 months post Masters certificate date experience and you need to be an Admin manager managing teams to get a positive assessment.

Good day everyone,

Thanks for creating this corner.

I am 30 years old,

2 years Experience as a transport company manager

BTech graduate of Meteorology at FUTA 2016 - No experience

All my other experiences do not apply so I am working with these.

Please is it possible to apply for VETASSES skills assessment for meteorologist and another one for transport company manager without breaking any rule?

Also, is there a way to check the minimum experience I need to get a positive skills assessment for meteorologist.

In addition, I have seen people say they did multiple EOIs. Please what are the advantages and disadvantages?
Thank you.
You need at least 3 years experience which will be deducted (2 years for unrelated degree and 1 year for deemed skill period). https://www.vetassess.com.au/Portals/0/Downloads/qualification_assessment/SRGO%20Infosheet_Transport%20Company%20Manager.pdf
Also, did you become a manager straight after uni?

To assess as a meteorologist, you need at least 12 months experience.

You can check on Vetassess website.

EOI is after you get a positive assessment.
