You option is to start looking for jobs in your field of study as soon as you land so that you can assess with that upon graduation. Your previous experience won't count then.
OR
If you don't want to wait, assess your Engineering first degree with EA (CDR option) and get a positive assessment without claiming points for experience. If you can get up to 65 for 189 or 190 or 491, then you may be able to get nomination from your current state before you even finish your masters.
Waylesdowels: Great jobs you guys are doing here. Been following since 2017. Already in NSW since 2019 on a 190 Visa. Never regretted the decision for a seconds.
Asking for a friend - if NCE in Electrical and Electronic Education can be used as formal qualifiation for Electrical Engineering Technician for TRA.
Not sure. The person should give it a try if over 80% of the transcript content covers electrical/electronics. Also they need to have experience in the field.
I was remitting tax while with my previous company which my information was carried over to this current company ( my tax ID).
As a matter of fact, my etcc card (Tax certificate) carries my previous company name with my name on the card becos im using the same tax ID. but since i cannot get my tax records from 2010 - 2017. i'll be using the payslips cos bank statement doesn't carry any company name.
i also noticed on the etcc card (tax certificate) a letter in my middle name was omitted as printed on the card and in the information on it. hope this is not a problem?
TCc card is not same as tax clearance! Obtain your tax statement which will show all payments made from 2010. Name spelt wrongly should be corrected. Payslip cannot be used in place of tax. They are two different documents. One is issued by an organisation while the other is a government issued doc.
Using this opportunity to appreciate all those who have been supplying quality information on this platform. God bless you.
Please, I noticed most Nigeria Agents keep advising me to go for UK or others, when I tell them I'm 40yrs. Is it that Australia don't grant 40s visa or what? I am going for MBA. Kindly advise with pls
You may consider skilled migration route first! You can get student visa as a 40 year old as long as you can prove your GTE
Pls i need ur advice for submitting for ACS assessment.
1. I have 13years experience in ICT which i worked for a IT service provider for 7years ( attained 2 different positions with same company).2010 - 2017.
2. Currently working with a teleco for 6years now in IT related as well from 2017 till date. I have all payment evidence for my current job but i'm trying to get my payslip for my previous company which is over 10years ago, but dont know if i can use my tax certificate records which can only reflect for the last 3 years remittance for my current company and not the previous. Unfortunately, i do not have pension while working with the previous company and the bank statement does not show the company name..so for my first company im left with Tax records & payslip.
However, i read this below on ACS website for employment payment evidence older than 10 years:
Please note, in some cases obtaining payment evidence older than 10 years before the date of submission may be difficult therefore ACS will take this into consideration when assessing the overall merits of an application
Pls help
I will advise you submit all you have with employment letter and the bank statements (highlight the salary) and include a letter of explanation as long as the salary consistent.
DO you have tax records for your previous organisation from 2010-2017? for your current company, get all your tax records not the last 3 years only. If you work in lagos for example, obtain that from LIRS online chat. It's a statement showiing PAYE tax paid by your company on your income from 2017 till date
I am new here & I have followed up on the previous threads. I'm in my mid 20s and have a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from a Federal University. I also have 1 year+ of experience in working in an Agro-processing factory as a Production Operator. Mech. Eng as an occupation appears to be an obvious choice for skills assessment, but I understand one can stand a better chance of getting invitation using other related (lower skilled) occupations. Considering my profile, please what occupations and perhaps visa types should I consider at this stage. Thank you
In your case, there is no option other than Mechanical Engineer. Mechanical Engineering Technician requires 3 years experience while Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson is on 491 ROL). Stick to M.E.
SundayphilipNic: sir, Please i don't understand your question. make it more clearer. i don't know any occupation That's related to my experience or the Course I'm about to study. thank you.
Both - are they not related? I meant which occupation do you intend to nominate in the occupation list?
Guide to check occupation code: Visit www.anzscosearch.com You may need to register on the website to view the details below Desktop/Laptop: 1. Select ‘Lists’ at the top of the webpage. 2. Click 'Skilled Occupation List' 3. You will see about 500 occupations on the list. 4. Keep scrolling till you find occupation(s) that align to what you do. 5. Click the 6 digits ‘ANZSCO' code on the left. It will load the full page 6. Select 'ANZSCO' and scroll to tasks. 7. Check if the tasks relate to what you do.
Mobile Click the hamburger icon (3 horizontal lines) Select 'Lists' > 'Lists 2022-23' > Skilled Occupation List Follow steps 3-7 above.
You may find more than 1 occupation. Revert here with the occupation(s) and the Anzsco code(s)
damiontop: Thanks for the advice.1. Pls am i using the same email and every other of my information to fill the respective visa's/state? hope it'll not jeopardize my chances? thanks in anticipation of your reply
val56: Quick one please, has anyone tried changing campus on arrival before resuming studies. Let’s say my School has their campuses both in Brisbane and Townsville. And I wish to join the campus in Brisbane. How best can one go about it before resuming studies??
ugonology: I One of occupations on the list has the same job descriptions and functions with my proposed course of study, should I just go for a masters in environmental management proper, to avoid stories that touch?
If you are not a manager, don’t go for environmental manager
Vincentosa: Hello guys, I recently received invitation for 491 visa from NSW (onshore). However, I also lodged eoi for 190 just few days ago as I complete compulsory 6months stay and continues stay in nsw. Now I want to know if it matters to use the same email address I used in the eoi for 491. I really want 190 due to family size. If I were single or we don't have kids yet I would probably just take the 491. But I only accepted it and just waiting the next 60days to see when my 190 invite will drop. I have the faith it will drop. Do I create another eoi with a different email address instead? Or it doesn't matter if I use the same email ID for different EOI account? Pls your advice is needed from anyone who has had similar experience...
You can use same email. If your current visa is not expiring soon, pls ignore the 491 invitation even after 60 days. You have a good chance of getting 190 and it’s not worth paying double fees
holatunjy: Hello, good morning sir / maa. I have been a silent follower, reading and following up on the Japa to Australia topics.
am 32 years i graduated 2016 as an architect from futa, served for a year 2017, since then I have been working as a self employed architect ( I registered my companys name in 2018 and I have been doing designing, construction and consulting ) and also working as a remote architect doing 3d / 2d designer for one of my oga but he didn't offered me employment letter , though I can request for it if needed. I will like to know my chances applying as an architect draftsman or as an architect or landscape architect. the ANZSCO CODE IS 312199... please guys kindly help us with your advice. may Almighty God lands us to where our hearts desires.
my wife is 32years she is a quantity Surveyor with HND holder as at 2018...
You can assess as an architectural Draftsperson as long as you claim that. You cannot claim or have any resemblance of an architect in your profile. Do you have your tax filings from 2018?
Your spouse cannot assess as a Quantity surveyor cos it’s a level 1 and HND cannot assess level 1.
4everEdward: Hello guys please forgive my ignorance, I have an Australian girlfriend that I am dating and she is coming to Nigeria next week please I want to know after getting married in the court, how long or how do I start to go over there with her, because both of us have little knowledge on how it works
Several options: She can file partner visa for you (There is the temporary one then the permanent one) it takes a long time though.
If you have a skill in the occupation list, you can also go through skilled migration and get 189 or 190 faster!
Pls can i file an EOI for Visa 189,190 & 491 at the same time?
I await to read your response. Thanks in anticipation.
Yes but advisable to do EOI 1: 189 EOI 2: 190 and 491 for a state EoI 3 : 190, 491 for another state and continue like that. Only one EoI for 189 please
I am new here & am making enquires on behalf of my Husband Please, what are his chances in this Australia skilled workers.
Hubby is 41yrs of age Graduated from FUTO 2016 Studied Mechanical engineering Has over 15yrs of experience in Mec. Eng. On the skilled list I saw Mechanical engineer ANZSCO code 233512
Wife has a Bsc Marketing With 5yrs experience in Sales & Marketing
Questions? Do you see this flying Sirs? Under Australia qualifying framework, (AQF) what tier is FUTO ranked? Also, can he apply for a level one occupational assessment? Will He get a positive assessment? Also, please what's CDR?
I don't know how to go about the accessment cos I just stumbled on this page & and am still reading and gathering information.
Your advice & response will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
His profile can fry. Does he have pension or tax statement for all those years?
15 years but graduated in 2016? Since he studied a 5 year course, university tier does not apply. That means he can assess for any level Check EA website for what CDR is and what it entails
NHQGUY: It's a lot to type but you can do your independent research. In summary, the case officer will look at the whole years claimed (including that cut off by any assessing body). As long as you are doing the roles described in the occupation list and you have supporting documents, you will be deemed skilled in the eyes of DHA.
I get you but I have my own concerns with this! No one wants to go through that stress of putting the decision for DHA to refuse or grant your visa because one decides to claim extra points.
Until DHA and assessing bodies agree to scrap those deductions directly, I won’t advise anyone to claim points not approved and have high blood pressure on “what if” DHA decides to support my assessing authority decision and refuse my visa. #justmyopinion
SundayphilipNic: Good afternoon Friends. I have study visa for july intake to study master of Engineering Professional, majoring in Technology and Management. Also have been working as a quality Control Welding inspector for 6 years with Certification Cswip 3.1(this is like a license from Training institute in the UK) and i intend to continue with my Profession in Australia during or/and after my Masters program. my question to the gurus in the house is my chances of getting Permanent resident after study. Note: my Bsc is in agricultural and Bioresources Engineering in Nigeria. thank you
Has anyone been assessed for procurement manager. I will like to know how he handled his documentation on organizational chart bearing in mind that the company (or companies) worked for will not sign and stamp it to be used for migration purpose.
I didn’t assess as a procurement manager but I did assess a different occupation. What I did was to send the request via email and my company responded declining my request. I took the email request and designed the organogram using the company chart as at that time. Then visited High court in Lagos to get a statutory declaration for it. I attached my design, stat declaration and email response from my HR to my application and got a positive assessment
hemekhar: Thanks boss, what do you personally recommend?
That's a big question. I have given you the options, you can make your choice. I have seen a one person with the usual one year deduction from Vetassess being approved by DHA. I havent seen a 3 or 4 year deductions before
ugonology: Please am a bit confused with my course application process, I intend to apply for masters in environment and climate emergency, but the only related occupation on the skilled occupation list is environmental manager. Can a masters in environment and climate emergency earn me the title of an environmental manager, so I could easily transition into PR after my studies? The absence of management in my course title is what is getting me worried, please gurus in the house, your input will be greatly appreciated
No, environmental manager is for managers in the environmental space. There are 5 other environmental occupations on the list. You should check the list thoroughly.
Please forgive my ignorance. When an accessing body deducts 4 years from a 7 years experience, does this mean you have to fill 3 years in your skills calculator or the deduction is just for the skills assessment? Make person no make mistake chop ban
yes. You can fill the 7 years but claim points for 3 years and not claim points for the 4 years
There has been a recent update from DHA that if your assessing body reduce your years of experience, then the Visa Case officer can review that and do their own assessment. This means you leave the chance to the CO to either accept the points you claimed or the ones approved by the assessing body. Most people avoid this cos you don't want to get to the stage to have your visa refused. So the choice is yours.
snowburn: Or will a positive outcome be more likely applying to VETASSESS for Social Professionals NEC instead of Public Relations Professional?? --This is due to the qualification being in Political Science??
snowburn: Just piggybacking on this post; Will a Political Science degree from University of Nigeria Nsukka and 8 years experience working as Public Relations Officer for an NGO get a positive skill assessment from VETASSESS?
Apart from your degree not related, UNN is a tier 2 university and your 4 year degree cannot assess for a level 1 occupation with Vetassess. it's an automatic negative assessment.
I am a graduate of industrial chemistry from a state university. I have 5 years experience in banking, currently in sales and marketing unit. I have carefully studied the 189 occupation list and can’t seem to find anything related to banking.
Please gurus in the house, do I still have a chance of applying and what can I do?
Thank you
none. Check out student application or other countries
On the form 80, there's a section that asks to include details of friends or relatives in Oz. I have a handful of friends there (like 3 really all in different states) but we do not communicate constantly. Is it ok to not include their details? I'm not keen on asking them for things like their address information.
Thanks.
Don’t include any details. Skip it. You are going in on skilled migration so you should have enough to take care of yourself.
I would have love that my wife should apply because she will earn more point on age and being a grad from OAU but most schools she worked for is not standard and the bank statement might be the issue even though we can still work out payslip for her because they re paid mostly cash ....
And do you feel anyone going between us should write IELTS exam?
Do you still feel my wife should apply instead of me pls?
Your spouse can assess just her qualification instead of +employment as long as she gets the high score in IELTS Academic. Check AITSL website for all the details. If you have the funds, both of you can assess
The IELTS exam is only thing left and is in pipeline. Currently preparation hard for it cos the the bands they set no be here. Will message you once I have that for more guidance. Kindly wish me luck.
And please is University of ilorin a tier 1 university or tier 2 university?
Thanks for the good job you doing on this thread. God bless you richly.
Ilias2: That's the PR route for now. If a trip to Ghana is the price to pay, it is way cheaper than doing a masters program. Masters leads to PR - and you will still do the same process as well. Go through skill-assessment.
If you have the required skills, education and work experience, I reckon you should go for it and push for regional area to give you better leverage …or even remote area.
Spot on!
To everyone, skilled migration should be your first choice. If you are not eligible, then explore student visa. It saves you money and stress because if you come in with student visa, you will still be back to the skilled migration process except you plan to come back to Nigeria.
You can only imagine if you spend less and get in on work visa! You can start earning straight, no school fees to pay or any restriction.
thug: I checked and this path requires me to assess my skills as a pharmacist. The fees is outrageous and the nearest center for the exam is Ghana. If there where other path with the exception of the school route, I go follow. However, if there is any other path that will not require me to assess my skills, let me know. I appreciate your input sir.
As a pharmacist, you can assess as a pharmacy technician and avoid the KAPS exam until you land in Australia but you may be able to get 491 only. But if you have the funds, go for Pharmacist. Write the exam and have a shot at 189/190. Straight PR. The choice is yours.
PaPxM: @TunlexO1, Could you please advise on this, this is the only thing holding me back now, once I figure this out, I can strat with assestment. Kindly advise on this as well, My first Job in South Africa, I didn't have a permit by then so it was paid Cash in Hand, I can get payslips but how do I go about the other proof, Should I let the manager state the salary in the reference letter or he should draft a cover letter stating the reasons? I was using asylum which didn't allow one to open a bank account but can school and work with that. Moreover, I registered with SARS(Tax Revenue Service) only in 2020. I worked for this employer from 2016 - 2019
Sadly you can’t add that employment if there is no document to prove it. You need at least tax/pension/bank statement to prove that with TRA. Only submit the company you have document for from 2020
