For ACS, payslips may not be mandatory but Pension and/or tax is/are compulsory. If you don't have either or both of them, don't waste money assessing with them

There are different document requirements per assessing body. You will need to be specific about your profile and the occupation you are assessing for to get an appropriate response.

Reading up this thread will give you an idea how to check your occupation and the assessing authority as well as their website for further questions.

A quick timeline
Hubby has a HND in chemistry which from my research is classified as Chemistry Technician in Australia, which is part of the skill shortage list, and also falls under the visa 190 category.

He has a cumulative salary work experience of about ten years in his field , but has stopped paid employment since 2018.

My question is this; Can the work experience still count if a skill assessment is done by VETASSESS considering the fact that he has stopped working for about 5 years now?

For Vetassess, even though your spouse has over 10 years experience but since he has stopped working over 5 years ago, he's no longer eligible for Vetassess assessment for this occupation. Vetassess requires that the employment must be current within the last 5 years to assess the entire work experience.

I received a Positive Assessment from Vetassess today. I thought it was going to be a Certificate . It was just a letter.

The funny part was that they removed 1 year from my work experience, and instead of 9 years, I was given 7.66 (as at Sept 2022). My question is can I still claim 8 yrs? I understand that 8 yrs can give 20 points.

@ Tunlex, please how can I strategically cast my net for an ITA? Apply to Skillselect for EOI 189 only, then visit the States (perhaps 3 different States) and apply for ROI 190? separately with same email?

I’m not sure if there is any specific documents for RPL. Just the normal employment documents (payslips, reference letter, employment letter, pension statement, tax statement, salary bank statement)

Can I get assessed successfully solely based on my own credentials, move to australia and then arrange for my family to come over or must I leave with them at the same time?

This area isn't as clear yet.

Skill assessment is different from English test.
You may or may not involve your spouse in English test or skill assessment. It depends on how many points you are able to garner on your own.

You can move to Australia first and apply for subsequent entrant visa or partner visa for your family or you can all apply together, get visa but you move to Australia first and after you are settled, they can then join you.

Does TRA also assess ones like ICT Support Engineer and the likes? If so, like you advised our fellow up here, can I also try my chances with TRA in addition to ACS for ICT Support Engineer and similar ICT occupations?

Tra does not access Ict support engineer. Only ict customer support and hardware technician however your degree MUST be computer science related. They don’t do Rpl

No, you cannot for primary applicant.

You should get your spouse to write the test too to increase your points by 5 points. For ICT occupations, you will really need any extra points you can get.
If IELTS is not working, switch to PTE

I also think your partner should still give English test a go if she has a degree in communications. The minimum required for partner is IELTS 6 or PTE 50 per band

I understand what 189 is. Let me ask this question differently, so my point of view is clearer...

I created three separate EOIs each for three different states.

For state 1, I selected 189, 190 & 491
For states 2 & 3, I selected 189 & 190

Last week, I received two separate emails inviting me to lodge a visa application using EOIs I created for states 2 & 3. I opted to use the EOI I created for state 2 and now while completing the application, I got to a stage asking me to select state of residence (that's the screenshot I shared). If I select any state now, does this mean I can still change my mind to a different state when the time comes for me to move without restrictions (since 189 is a federal visa)?

Got you now. That’s clear enough.
Congratulations on your ITA.
You can select any state of residence. You are going to be a PR and can live anywhere.

Now that you have gotten ITA, please take time to withdraw all your EOIs so as to give room to others who are waiting for ITA. Cos if you get another ITA, it’s a waste to you and affect others on the queue.

For everyone else, pls only select 189 for one of your EOIs so that you don’t debar other people’s chances of getting 189.

Perhaps check your post again.
189 is a federal visa subclass. You don't select state for 189 and if you are required to select any state, just select any or unknown

I noticed you prefer separating 190 and 491...i.e it seems you'ld rather have them on separate EOIs. Any reason for this? can you not have them both on the same EOI? i.e tick both 190 and 491 on same EOI?

Because we have seen recently where people get 491 and get 190 later from the same state. So if you have one EOI, you may miss out.

My bro-in-law has just been granted his 489 visa sponsored by South Australia. Obviously he is aware he has to live and work in a regional area which luckily has been expanded to cover more cities. My question is, can he move between designated regional cities around Australia or it has to be in South Australia?

He can live in any regional area as long as it’s not Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. He should stick to the post codes in his grant letter

THanks again for this post. Ive been reading more about these! However, I have a question..."Why create multiple 189s"? I thought that with one 189, you can decide to migrate to any state. Would it not suffice to simply select 189 for one EOI - since 189 is not for state! Then create for each of the states new EOIs while selecting 190 and 491 for each of the states. E.g

1. EOIa 189
2. EOIb NSW (tick 190 & 491)
3. EOIc SA (tick 190 & 491)
etc etc...

Secondly please can you kindly provide a list of which of the states would require creating ROIs? I've been searching this information online...so far, I've only observed that Victoria and SA require ROI. Is there any other states that would request for ROI?

No they won’t. You need a bachelors or masters qualification to assess as a Business analyst.

You need to have a valid English test before she submits the visa application.

I used to work in a bank in Nigeria for over 6yrs. The statement of service given to me by HR is not in line with the format VATESSE will use to access me.
Questions

1. Can a letter from anyone in the bank signed on the letter head do?

Though ppl i have spoken to are scared as HR frowns at ppl signing such letter.

2. How far do they do in verifying these documents?
3. Is it advisable to attach the 1 page document of statement of service from HR with whatever I can get from a staff who I worked under?

2. They can verify any document to any length. There is no formula to the extent.
3. Yes you can do that

Ensure all communication (back&forth) is via email so you can attach it to your email to explain why you are using a fellow colleague. This will give credence to the reference letter you design yourself and you should also notarise it.
