Chinzzyy: Hello everyone. Please i would like to know if i would get a positive assessment. I am 32, will be 33 in october, i studied chemistry education for both b.ed and m.ed from uni of abuja and uni of lagos respectively. My only work experience is as a primary school teacher. And i checked, primary school teaching is not on the list of skills except nominated by a state. Now the next best option for me is early childhood teacher, but the documents needed for the skills assessment emphasises that my education should emphasize the age of children i was trained for. Both of my degrees do not indicate which age of children i was trained for. How do i solve this issue please. My other concern is that my degrees seems as if i was trained for seconday school teaching. But i don't have experience in this atall It’s a bit difficult as chemistry is a secondary education course and not for a primary school. To indicate the ages, you will have to provide your teaching practice documents or letter from your university indicating where you had your teaching practice. You can also email AITSL to confirm just to double sure before committing to the process |

EngrCGD: Dear tunlex01
Thanks once again for your swift responds. It is gradually becoming clearer and clearer to me now.
I would like to know, since you mentioned that 4 year degree in Ansu is regarded as an associate degree. What will be in my case since I graduated in same school and did only 4 years , mechanical engineering is 5 years course but because I already had 2 years Ordinary diploma in same MECH engineering, i started from 200L on a direct entry level , so does it mean in my case my B.Eng will be regarded as an associate degree ?
Also does the OND certificate contributes positively to this process ?
Before now, I have the intention to further my studies, is a masters degree relevant in this pursuit ?
A friend in Australia is strongly advising I use the 186 employer nomination scheme. But I need your expert advice and the one from the house here. On which best route or path to follow. Is my utmost heart desire to practice in Australia as an engineer.
As regards to Writing the CDR and the career episode, I’m already sensing these will pose as a serious challenge for me, please is there a way I can go about it.
Finally I still crave for your indulgence to have a one on one conversation through email or even phone conversation if possible. I do like to disclose a very confidential and important information about my immigration history and I will need your expert advice. Please Can I start by writing you an email ?
I look forward to hearing from you soon. You will need to attach your OND certificate and transcript and also let them know it’s a direct entry due to previous qualification. Yours will still be regarded as a Bachelors degree. Masters degree is not relevant for you in this case. It’s a need-to-have not a must-have. Have you found any organisation willing to offer you a 186 visa? Have you applied or done any interviews? Most (not all) companies don’t offer 186 to offshore applicant but they do offer 482. What challenge is that? CDR is just about your experience. If you don’t want to assess with EA, your other option is to assess with TRA. You don’t need CDR for that. You only need complete documentation. You can send an email to me using Nairaland |

EngrCGD: Thanks for your reply @tunlex01
My wife graduated from Anambra state university. Same as me.
Please note: We have a farm, which my wife and I manages as a side business, it’s registered as a business name in 2020 with my wife and I as proprietors note we have the registration documents and bank account under the farms name, it’s not registered as a limited liability company, we primarily deals on egg production, broilers, we just started the pig rearing of late.
I could see the mixed livestock farmer in the ROL ( Regional Occupation List ) .
There is also the Poultry farmer under STSOL
Engineering manager - MLTSSL
Mechanical engineer - MLTSSL
Biochemist - MLTSSL
Medical laboratory scientist - MLTSSL
Fitters - Welder -MLTSSL
Mechanical engineering technician- STSOL
Mechanical engineering draftsperson - ROL
All the above occupation applied to both my wife and myself. Including the poultry farm as our side business.
Honestly I’m confused.
I know we were advised to ask questions and share all information here on this platform so others can learn. But Please there is something very very confidential I must share with you privately first, if you allow me I will share it here afterwards, we don’t know who might be viewing this thread at any point in time. please I kindly crave your indulgence to write you personally via email after that we can proceed from here.
Thanks
Waiting for your reply. Any 4 year degree from Ansu cannot assess a level 1 occupation with Vetassess because it’s regarded as an Associate degree and not Bachelor’s. In your wife’s case, she can’t assess as a Biochemist. Also, she’s not a medical laboratory scientist, she only works in such organisation as a biochemist. These two are different occupations. Also, the mixed crop thing won’t work as neither of you has a degree in agricultural related courses. In your case, you have 5 options. Go through the tasks and rank them in the order of the relatability to your current role using the job descriptions, We can also review data of which occupation has the better prospect. |

soulamanne: @tunlex01...I greet you the Aussie oracle
Please I would like to seek a clarification .I have gone through WA guidelines for 22-23 year and seen some videos too. There seems to be a caveat that says for offshore applicants to stand a chance of being nominated, they need to have a job/contract for at least 12 months.
Now I do not know if I am the one that is not getting the context well as this is also a requirement for onshore applicants(who are of more priority) or same applies to offshore too.
And if so, how do you think that will work ?I mean like I have to look for a job say on seek.com.au and let the employer know I am applying for a 491.something like that...please help shed light on this if truly the requirement means an offshore applicant must have a job first
Thanks for all you do and may God ease your own affairs too. WA does not nominate from offshore. They restrict their nominations to only their graduates or resident of the state. In this financial year ending in few days, they decided to extend to all state and offshore but you need a job offer. No, when you get a job offer, the employer will nominate you for employer nominated visas such as 482. You can decide to switch to 491 or 190 depending on your circumstance upon landing. There is no employer sponsored 491. |

Over 8 years experience. Married with a kid From the point calculator, I have 65 points which could be 80 for regional nomination. I intend to assess for Fitter(General) with TRA I do not intend to go with my family yet.
What is your opinion as regards processing 491 visa. Do you think I stand a chance with my points? Also what is your honest advice as regards my family coming to join later?
Thanks guys. 491 is a work visa. No one can say. Fitter usually doesn’t require much points except there is a change in the new Financial year. What is the reason for family coming to join later? Personally, I’m not for it cos the stress of the application can be taken care once and for all and you all don’t have to land at the same time. You can land first then they rest of the family can join later. |

Saynoomore: Perfect, fair enough!
Please, one last question. I have done my IELTS, and currently packaging my application for VETASSESS. My concern is this:
Is it compulsory that you MUST claim points from your spouse? What if my spouse's IELTS is LWRS - 5.5,6,6,7?
My point is currently 75 without Spouse points. Can I be selected without including my spouse english Language test result? My spouse currently struggles with getting 5 in listening. If she writes and doesn't get 6,6,6,6, I think I might be too impatient to wait for a re-write. I intend to continue to EOI without bothering to gain spouse points. The last draw I saw, I noticed someone in my line of profession got ITA with 70points. I think I might just be fortunate too, to get with above 70points. Sure you can proceed without partner's points |

Saynoomore: sorry please, can I get something clear! Are you guys saying that married people are not eligible for some visa subclasses? No, it means you cannot get married until after landing. In the new point system introduced in November 2019, single applicants gets an automatic 10 points added to their points while married people need to have partner that will make them get the 10 points through assessment and English test. So what DHA is saying is if you claim you are single, when you get ITA, you cannot get married to add a spouse until after you have landed in Australia. |

donpaulo44: Please I want to ask a question concerning my application and that of my wife. I’ve applied for 489 since 2019 without getting a reply since then. My fiancé was in Australia since 2018 and only came back two months ago and we married. However, there was an instruction not to get married while I was applying for my 489 visa but I can’t keep waiting as time has been wasted already and we can’t continue waiting. An organization has agreed to sponsor my wife’s 482 visa so I want to ask if she can add me to the visa application as partner even though I didn’t mention her name while o was applying mine. Will it work? Or will it have any negative effect on my already existing application?? Will DHA get mad at me for marrying while I’m told not to? Please help I may not be able to tell you want you want to hear. You knew the rule of what you applied for but you went against it. Even though your applications has not yet been approved, it still does not change the legislation and sadly, the COs work with legislations and not how we feel.. Anyways life will continue if the CO decides to follow the rules about your application. 482 is a work visa, you may have to confirm if that has a pathway to PR (what I read is that 482 applicant that have been on the visa for over 12 months or during the pandemic will be able to apply for PR) but I'm not sure if it applies to anyone applying now. That may be a good option for you as your 489 is shaky as it is. The other option is both of your strive for your visa, get it separately and run your stuff separately. Although there may still be a snag when you may apply for 887. Goodluck bro |

Saynoomore: Sorry please, I'm new to this, and trying to read them up. I have just completed IELTS, and packaging my document for VETASSESS. From what I've read online, I think cut off points for 491 are less than 189 (https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skillselect/invitation-rounds).
My Questions are:
1. How can one get ITA from the various Regions (i.e. Western Australia and New South Wales) Is there a box to check and indicate interest on the States/Region when applying for EOI on 491?
2. I have observed that there are various subclasses (i.e 491, 189, 190, etc). Are applicants allowed to submit an Expression of Interest to more than one Subclass? e.g can I submit for EOI to 491 and also submit to 189, and 190 at the same time, just to broaden my chances?
CC: tunlex01 1. While creating EOIs on SkillSelect, you can select a state or multiple states. I always advise applicants to select only one state and create additional EOIs selecting one state per EOI. After creating EOI or EOIs, you have to check the state requirements. Most state now requires applicants to submit an expression on their own website. 2. yes, you are allowed to. For example: EOI A - for New South Wales (select 189, 190 and 491) EOI B - for South Australia (select 189, 190 and 491) |
Travel › Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 2:25pm On Jun 07, 2022 |
Saynoomore: Thanks
BTW, Do you pay to submit an expression of interest to 491 and 190? I've read it here but still don't understand how it works (https://www.kansaz.in/australia-immigration/subclass-491-visa). How can someone who is interested get into the pool and be selected? Ofcourse I understand that having Superior English and having VETASSESS ready are pre-requisites. No, EOIs are free. You only pay if you receive a pre-invite from any state. Fee ranges from $300-$800. How it works: When you have all the necessary documents Create multiple EOIs on SkillSelect for free (recommended to create for at least 3 states selecting 190 and 491) Check each state nomination requirements - some states require you to submit a registration of interest ROI on their website while some pick directly from the EOI pool If your occupation, English score or total points appeals to the State migration team - you get a pre-invite and have within 14 days to apply for nomination to the state Apply to the state for nomination after paying prescribed fee If all documents checks out, you get an Invitation to apply for visa |

Saynoomore: Thank you for the clarifications.
With the information I have been able to gather online, it appears that the Australian Route is different from Canada's (previous) route in that, ONLY Occupations needed at that moment are granted ITA during the draws. There is no general draw inviting every Tom, D.ick, and Harry on the basis of having a high score in the pool - a draw strategy that the IRCC wants to now adopt. It is possible to have a very high score and not be invited to apply; especially if your occupation is not in need. The lesson in these for us all is that we MUST be careful of the Occupation we select.
In this case, do you have any idea about occupations that are very highly in demand, and that would often appear on the list of ITAs issued? Mostly medical fields and trade occupations are in demand. The situation right now is that no one is waiting for 189. Everyone is now looking to state nominations for 190 and 491. 491 has now become mainly available to offshore applicants. In the last 3 months, we have had many invitations on Medical laboratory scientists and technicians, fitters, fitter-welder and other trade roles. Even if I tell you the occupations in demand, if you don't have experience or assessment for any of those occupations, the information is not useful to you |
