I am single. It's the calculator I used. Single status 10 points.

I have not taken the PTE test, but superior score is my target. I have put everything in place to smash it. That won't be an issue for me at all.

My main issue now is the minimum work experience needed. As it stands now, WA and NSW are the only two states that are lenient with offshore applicants with their requirements. 3 yrs ago, just by having superior English alone, NSW do invite.

So, I am still thinking how I am going to handle that minimum work experience of 3yrs they later introduced.

Don't know if I should just put in my expression of interest if I am able to secure the superior English score and not allow the work experience to deter me.

What do you advised I do?
Great you have good plans to get those points.
Depends on their requirements, if you don't meet them, you won't be getting a pre-invite.
Anyways, the new financial year is upon us! Things may change.

I heard that too but has to be balanced with minimal cost of living. If it’s on a very high side, the net would still end up the same as other western countries. I need firsthand experience.
Salary is high, cost of living is relative. You can decide to make your cost of living high or not but based on my experience with friends and colleagues in other countries, an average Australian still has more disposable income than many other western countries irrespective of their location/cost of living

Wow. See this boss man. All of you guys just abandoned thread for us o.

I can still remember when you got your ITA that year as Chem Engineer. It's been a long time.

How is everything?

Please I need your input. I studied Chemical Engineering. As it stands now, no single work experience.

Attached is my possible point I can get without work experience for 491 visa.

What do you think I should do or how should I go about it?
Do you already have 20 points in English test?
And you added 10 points for partner qualification. Has your partners gotten a positive assesment and have minimum competent English?

Please, does it mean that as an outlander WITHOUT a job offer and NOT having any siblings, only the 189 can be applied for?

Again, looking at the 189 route, it appears applicants with 85 points can be hopeful. I did the simulation and realized I had 85 (I haven't done the VETASSESS evaluation, but I'm quite hopeful for a positive outcome)
No, there are 190 and 491 State sponsored nomination.
85 is dependent on occupation (some 100 have been waiting for over a year) and 189 has had like 2 rounds of invitations in the last 12 months. So don't bank on it.

Oh thanks...then it won't fly. I'm trying to assess for my wife so l can get 10points from her. She did accounting, l was looking for any associate degree skill she can assess. Everything related to accounting is skill level 1. Thought of office manager but is not on 491. Confused

Any idea?
No idea. You can reach out to CPA or CAANZ, I believe they assess Associate degree as Bachelor as long as it’s Accounting degree and you are able to provide syllabus etc.
reach out to them to confirm, some of these things may have change from 2 years ago

Thanks.

I have MSc, and PhD. I can easily get both transcripts sent to VETASSES because I didnt obtain them from a Nigerian University. I started work after my PhD and I'm only interested in claiming years of experience afterwards (its 8yrs now). I have some journal publications that could suffice as evidence also.

Can I ignore sending my BSc transcript since I'm not claiming points from after BSc? I want to avoid UNIBEN wahala with getting transcripts. Its extremely hectic and time consuming!
No you are not able to. All the transcripts from Bachelors and above have to be submitted. You can also email Vetassess to see if they would allow you to provide transcripts for MSc and Phd

Are your familiar with the Vetassess platform.

Been stuck on the work experience page (section to state job duties) with errors popping up every time I submit the page.

Beginning to think it’s from their end.
Have you resolved this now?
You can also email them or let me know the specific error you are getting if it’s not yet resolved

Hi All,
I'm new to this route. I've read some information online about this program, and I think it's viable.
I understand now that I would require VETASSESS to assess my credential and employment. I'm under 242111

My question is: What documents would be required to prove the years of employment, apart from the employment letter. Do I need payslips from the first year to date?

Modified** - I also read somewhere that there are State nomination fees to pay if an applicant is applying to a state, to be considered for nomination (https://truebluemigration.com/visa-fees/skilled-visa-application-costs-in-australia/), but can't find the fees anywhere. I'm interested in knowing how much the state's nomination fees are, just to enable proper planning of the expected expenses.
I hope you have MSc and also know your experience will only be approved from the date recorded on your MSc cert.
Vetassess has a list of the documents here
https://www.vetassess.com.au/skills-assessment-for-migration/professional-occupations/eligibility-criteria
Yeah, payslips first and last but for DHA, it’s for all the years you are claiming.
The state nomination fee depends on state but it ranges from A$300-700

@tunlex01, I have a positive assessment as a professional chemical engineer with EA in the past but the assessment has now expired. I didn't claim any experience then and I am about to renew my assessment with the option of adding relevant skilled employment. For some reasons, I don't intend to claim the work experience with EA but wish to claim it with DHA. What do you advise please?
That option is no longer available. All employment and educational qualification assessments must go through an assessing body!

Good evening Bosses.

My fiancee has been given admission (Jan 2023) at WSU. Our wedding is in July, so she applied as a married woman (through our agent). The agent was duly informed and the admission letter reads "Mrs".
Please sirs/mas, hope this isn't going to be a problem during our processing; considering that our wedding certificate will show that we got married in July.

Please advice!
She’s not yet married, so why use Mrs? It should be Miss since her status hasn’t changed yet. There is always room to update your details if your situation changes.

On 22nd April 2022 a mail was sent to my agent requesting we provide biometrics, but my agent said he replied them we had already done it before that they will check again and let us know. Till now we are yet to hear from Immigration. Please what can I do? Do we have anyone who applied for Visa since 2020 and yet to get decision?
If you have your visa application details, call DHA directly or email them. There is a feedback form on their website that you can complete

Good day guys, please I am applying Vetasses skills assessment for skilled migration. I have gathered and uploaded all my documents and yet to submit them on the website but there is an issue. I need my school to send my transcript and BSc certificate directly to Vetasses but all the staff of the Uni are on ASUU strike (federal University)

Below is the requirement stated on the Vetasses website for Nigerians.
A verified copy of the award certificate and full academic transcript must be sent in a sealed envelope from the awarding body directly to VETASSESS.

What would you advise as the way forward?
1. Upload My certificate and student copy of transcrip online?
2. Upload my certificate and student copy of transcript and find a way to inform them simultaneosly that there is ASUU strike and the school will send the documents once its called off
3. Do not upload any online but upload other documents and submit, then wait for ASUU and try to send as fast as possible when the strike is called off?

I really do not want to just wait and wait without doing anything.
Kindly advise on what to do
Sadly, you have to wait. Vetassess will not do anything to your application if your transcript is not sent directly by the school. You can still upload your certificate but you see that transcript, no submission, no outcome.

Hello Great folks in the house

My profile is given below

Age 38
Education: BSC
University: Nnamdi Azikiwe University
Couse of study: Mathematics
Year of graduation: 2011

Experience
NYSC 1 year(2012-2013)-work as a Teacher
Also work with Sterling Bank for 1 year(2014-2015)-work as DSE (Direct Sales Executive)
From 2015 until date, am just self employed I sell and repair mobile phones.

My question is what is the best field to go for accessment that is straight forward without any complication in my application.

First of all, I thought of going for Mathematics accessment with vetassess, then disregard my previous work experience and package a new work experience with a new company that will provide me with 7-9 years work experience that is relevant to vetassess work experience for Mathematician, to enable me claim 5 or 10 point, such that, if I can claim 20 points in PTE by achieving 80 in all bands. I can have total of 65 or 70 point depending on what I can claim on work experience.

Can someone help me out and advise me on the best strategy to go about this,
Secondly, is the idea of packaging work experience to suit a particular area of interest ok, will that be a red flag if one choose to package work experience.
Finally what is the best area I can
focus on. Guys your contribution will be highly appreciated.
Packaging will not help you as it will be figured out one way or the other. Also, tax or pension needs to be provided. How will you be able to do that.
Another snag is that you cannot assess as a mathematician as that occupation is a level 1 occupation and can only be assessed by a Bachelor's degree. Your degree from Unizik is regarded as an Associate degree and not Bachelor's according to Australian qualification.

I'd advise you try other countries perhaps UK for Masters and proceed from there.

Hello please for those living in Sydney on student visa, how much tax do you pay after income?
Taxes are paid based on a percentage of your income and other benefits that your company offers and your personal circumstance.
I don't think anyone will give you a specific tax rate as the tax rate is based on your income band.
We can earn the same salary in different companies but I can have more disposable income than you depending on my situation.

Hi House,

Started reading this thread from page 1......no be beans. Weldone to all the pillars that have kept this thread going.

I need some "surgical" advise for the peculiar position i currently find myself. I have summarized a quick run down of my numbers below;

age: 34
IELTS: Band 9
Experience: 8 years continuous production management in one firm (different roles though, but scripted my reference letter well )
Education: Chemical engineering degree ( 10 years ago) & MBA in Operations & Project Management ( 3 years ago)
Partner IELTS: Band 6
Total points: 80
Target Visa: 190

Truth is i was close to 90 a few years back, but Canada no gree person see road.

Anyway, this is my challenge.

I just accepted an offer for a similar job in Singapore. Based on all preparations, i should be living the country in 2 weeks time.

Question 1: Is it possible/advisable to run Australian PR as a Nigerian living outside Nigeria. Will there be an issue or conflict from the change in address, etc

Question 2: Will there be any issue in processing this PR while i and my spouse live in different countries

Question 3: i have ran through every step of the process to see which one would require my physical presence in Nigeria at any point. The only things i could zoom in on were
a) Vetassess skills assessment (Transcript arrangement)
b) Police certificate,
c)skilled employment evidence (employment reference letter, etc)
d)Partner documents ( joint bank statement, etc)
e) Health Exams

i'm i missing anything? I am particularly worried about the Health exams. Any possibility of triggering this before EOI application(i.e before i travel ) for 190 visa or will it be required after nomination? Also is it possible for the medical test to be done in different locations (i.e assuming i have not relocated the rest of my family by then)

Apologies once again for the barrage of questions, but looking at my short timelines, i must get these physical requirement right.
1. Yes, no
2. No
3. None of these require physical presence. Health examinations can be done in any country. You will only need to go to approved hospital.
No, medicals is only done after you apply for visa.
FYI, 190 is rarely given these days, not even for chemical engineering. 491 visa has been consistent for applicants outside Australia.

Hopefully this may change in the new financial year.

1. Skilled Nominated visa Subclass 190 = 5
2. Age 25 -32 = 30
3. Proficient English = 10
4. Oversea work experience, 8yrs excluding NYSC = 15
5. Educational qualification, B Eng. Civil Eng. = 15
6. Partners qualication =5
Total is 80 points.
Please house, what are my chances?
I have challenges in tax clearance, how can I manage this?
Thanks
If you have issues with tax, perhaps EA is not your best option then as you must have either pension or tax for ALL the years being claimed.
Look out for other occupations that is not assessed by EA.

Did you mean your sponsor has a business and does not know tax clearance document and profit & loss account statement?
Perhaps the person does not want to give you.
Your sponsor should visit the revenue office in the state the business is situated and request for the tax clearance if the business has been paying taxes.

Bro, you had over 8 weeks to update your profile but you didn’t.
What has happened has happened. Marriage is marriage, whether court or traditional. Not marrying in court does not make you single.
Since you are no longer single and point has dropped due to marriage, update your EOI and wait for another pre-invite. Don’t lose all later for trying to circumvent the process now.
Good luck

If you are yet to apply for visa, you (primary applicant) can apply for yourself only and put your family as not accompanying. You can always add them as a subsequent entrant later. Not a choice I’d make as I know many people who regretted this decision when Covid hit.

Second option is to include them in the application but they can land later while you land first
