My brother in law applied for the 489 visa in October 2019. Given that the 489 visa is no more, will he be granted a 489 visa with the conditions of a 491 attached or be granted a 491 visa with its attached conditions?

In a situation where a couple gets grant for 491 and the wife is primary applicant, Can the family land Aussie, stay 1 week and the wife ( primary applicant) come back to Nigeria with the kid while the hubby remains?
If yes, what is the maximum time the primary applicant can stay in Nigeria b4 returning?

I ask cos if we get the visa, I will want to come back in Nigeria to work while hubby stay back in Aussie and takes short courses for easy penetration to the job market. I also heard accommodation is expensive so I will need to save up

Please house I want to confirm, is it mandatory to have 7.0 in my IELTS before I could be eligible because I only score 5.5 in my Listening, 5.0 in my reading, 5.5 in writing and 6.0 in speaking, Over all total 5.5 is it possible for me to be eligible for the Australia residence permit application, though I want to apply for Human resources manager and it falls in Visa subclass 190 and 491. The assessing board which is [b]AIM [/b]did not request any English proficiency. Please can I proceed with the application with my IELTS result or I will need to write another one?

Biometric is only for temporary visas. If you are applying for permanent resident visa or pathway to PR visas, biometric is not required.

Currently doing MS Mathematics here in US and trying to switch to Data Science career on graduation. With the way the US system is going, trying to get a plan B on ground, just in case.

To the experienced fellows here, please how can I navigate this route, hopefully with like a year or two years experience as a Data Analyst here.

What should I start working on from now, with a goal of moving next 2 tears through skilled migration or can I just move with my MS from here?

Please house, I have an Australian friend who I've been working together with on several projects. She's a bonafide citizen of Australia and has lived there all her life. Now, seeing how difficult it is to get Australian PR through the conventional means, is there anyway she can make the process easier for me - maybe sending an invitation, maybe there's different kind of visa for it, anything at all?

I have discussed with her and she's willing to assist, but she doesn't know how.

I am about applying for state sponsorship in tasmania and I am stuck on filling the financial declaration form.

Do I have to declare up to 40,000AUD before i get a grant. Please help

With a 3rd class it will be difficult to get a direct masters, but it's possible. You might need to back it up with work experience to receive a direct masters. If you don't have work experience, your best bet would be to get either a packaged graduate certificate + Masters course or a packaged Masters qualifying course + Master.

With regards to degree that would lead to PR, there are numerous occupations on the PR list, however, you need to be aware that the PR process is now more competitive and it's not a guarantee. Gone are the days when if you studied here you are almost guaranteed a PR, but things have changed. There are lots of Nigerian students who have studied here for 2 years and are still unable to secure PR. A lot of them had to relocate to Tasmania, South Australia and Darwin to study another 2 years course in order to receive state sponsorship for PR (Not a guarantee). If you want to choose a state to study, i would recommend you go to regional area, however, be aware that it's difficult finding jobs in regional areas compared to cities in case your plan is to raise part of your tuition fees. Regarding course of study, I would recommend Social work as it's a bit less competitive and it's available on almost all states occupation list. There are also other occupations but you might need to do a bit of research.

Lastly, ensure you do some thorough research prior to proceeding as you will be better prepared for the battle ahead. I wish you all the very best.
