thanks should have applied last year when the minimum band was 5.5. i wonder what i was thinking. please do you have any link to a whatsapp group?
lol...time waits for no one in this immigration thingy. Band 5.5 last year....that can't be true.

It has always been
IELTS less than 7 in each band - 0 point
7-7.5 in each band - 10 points
8 and above in each band - 20 points.

is it true the minimum ielts score must be 7 for each test? there are some i had 6 and 6.5, but my overall point on aussies point calculator is 65. i want to know if its possible to apply with the score i have for the test. thanks your genuine reply is appreciated.
To get 10 points in English test, you need a minimum of 7 in each band of IELTS.

The possibility to apply depends on many other factors. With the recent competitiveness of this process, having a competent English (less than 7) may not be good enough to get the required points except your occupation is a trade occupation like fitter, mechanic, welder etc and you have over 8 years experience with solid partner points.

Yes I have a positive assessment from EA as a mechanical Engineer with the stated experience
Since you reside in NSW, create EOI for 190 and 491 for NSW.
For NSW 190, you must have been employed as a Mech Engineer for at least 12 months.
For 491, your office and house location will determine if you qualify. You can check the requirements below
https://www.industry.nsw.gov.au/live-and-work-in-nsw/visas-and-immigration/Skilled-Work-Regional-visa-subclass-491

ACT, NT and QLD states are also nominating the occupation but it may be difficult to get ITA from any of those since you don't reside there.

@ tumlex01 Can I submit only my MSC degree and transcript for the assessment since that is what is relevant to my nominated occupation Or do I need to submit my BSc too.
I'd advise you submit both. It may help your assessor to consider some courses taken during your undergraduate days.

Hello guys,

Bravo you guys are doing great work here. I salute those who are here giving advice and experience thanks .

Please a nephew of mine just got his subclass 600 visa so I wanted to ask which Airport is better for Arrival in Australia that's less scrutiny and immigration wahala .

Though his plan is to arrive in Melbourne.

But i told him to wait make I ask from guys here that are over there in Australia.

Thanks in Advance
Subclass 600 is a visitor visa so he should know where he's going already. Where did he tell the case officer he was going to land or stay before getting the visa?

I guess you don't watch Australia Border Force. All airports in Australia will scrutinise you as they deem fit irrespective of your passport and/or visa class.
Coming in as a visitor, your nephew will be asked questions. If they are satisfied, they will allow him in.

Hello, I will like to ask a question A bank wants to write Queensland about my investments with a company but they want it official and not to be given by hand.

Where would they address it to?
This was the address I found on BSMQ website. It's BSMQ physical address.

Level 10, 1 William Street, Brisbane, 4000

Google search also helps to answer your queries faster.

Good day everyone, please can someone guide me on how I can go about getting/paying for my tax certificate in Lagos, I'd like to pay tax for the number of years I've worked with my organisation, how does it work please?

I'm in the process of gathering my documents for VETASSES assessment, somebody please help me. Thank you
Visit LIRS office or consult with your company finance team. You will get all the required info there.
For Vetassess, you don't need tax statement to assess as long as you have other documents to prove your employment. You will mainly need it for visa application.

Hello Great people.
Please I urgently need a clarification on this:
My company issues Employment Confirmation/Letter only once meaning you cannot obtain letters addressed to different regional immigration offices for the purpose of applying for 491 or 190 sub visa or even 189.

What do I do please because I intend to apply to various regional nominations?

Should I tell them to leave out addressee’s address to make the letter more generic?

Can they write “To Whom It May Concern”?
Have you completed assessment?
If yes, just use the same reference letter issued during your assessment for all the states and DHA application.
if no, request for one addressed to your assessing body or DHA.

To Whom it may concern can also be used.

Please is ACCA recognised in US?
And for Nigeria, what's the cost of registering for ACCA, plus the cost of foundational exam.
And lastly, who knows a good ICAN/ACCA tutorial centre at yaba, Sabo area.

Yes, ACCA is recognised but may not the best for US.
Check ACCA website for registration fees for Nigeria.
For ACCA center, check Ivy league at Birrel Avenue, Sabo, Yaba (behind Fidelity Bank).

Yes the 3years experience is after my Master
My Job title is actually health, safety and Environmental Supervisor and I was supervising about five subordinate. I have gotten my manager to draw the statement of service as well as the organisation chart.

My Role involve both environmental duties as well as Health and Safety duties as done in many Organisation. However, I am gunning for the environment aspect of my Job because that is what is required for my nominated Occupation Environment Manager.

I hope VETASSESS will not raise any eyebrow to the additional roles I have?
No one is a Vetassess assessor here.. Lol.
We can only advice based on other people's outcome. I'll confirm if I have anyone assessed as an EVM before.

In the mean time, please check Australia jobs sites and see the job description of the occupation you are nominating. That should guide what you put as your job description along with the tasks on ANZSCO website and tasks listed on Vetassess website. Don't just put what you do cos what you think you do may not be what Vetassess wants.

Adding one or two health roles may not be bad since you combine the roles.

Your masters will also help your case. Good luck

Ok great. From the looks of things, you are looking to get maximum points possible for work experience. Right? Well, that does not necessarily have to happen with EA. Submit all the documents you have in addition to your CDR and English test result. Not compulsory, but I’ll suggest your career episodes come from the work period you have the full documents for and/or your undergraduate project work (at least that can be fully verified too). That should take care of things.

Also, if you cannot lay your hand on your tax clearance, another independent document like bank statement showing income from the job in question, RSA statement from your pension service provider, etc would do.

Finally, (feel free to ignore this one wink ) EA can look at your qualifications only and give you your desired positive outcome. I know a few people who assessed as graduates and they scaled through. This was 3+ years ago so, please double check if this is still applicable today.
The last part is not applicable anymore. DHA in recent times will advise the applicant to go back to EA for employment assessment if you submit without EA employment outcome.

I'm a civil Engr. Working in Abuja currently. I have worked with two other employers previously. My first was between 2012 - 2014. I have payslips, pension, tax, & testimonial letter from them. My next job was between 2014-2018. I also have payslips, tax, pension and reference letter. However, my headache is from my current job. I don't have my tax clearance yet. I have gone to the FCT-IRS with all my payslips and all, but they are requesting I bring a tax ticket from my office to confirm they have been remitting my tax. This is now taking a long process as I have been on it for more than two weeks. If I can boycott it, pls advise. I need to submit to EA asap. Thanks for your response
You only need either pension or tax not both.

LOL.. I didn't say taxes are not paid in Abuja. I wanted to give you another way to request for your tax statement from LIRS without consulting your company as long as you have a tax ID and your taxes were remitted.

Visit any court with all the info normally contained in a reference letter. This info will be used to draft a statutory declaration for you and get a notary public to notarise.

You may need to get a proper reference letter from your supervisor or do statutory declaration.

Good afternoon everyone, please I need some answers.

I work with EEDC, and as you know, big Nigerian companies like this will never write you a recommendation letter for migration, so I fear mentioning that I work with them in my assessment documents. Some of my colleagues that tried migrating in the past, when the assessment authorities called and emailed our HR, our company refused to disclose any information about them. Thereafter, those my colleagues were fired. So they lost the migration prospect and their jobs here in Nigeria. How do I avoid listing my present company? Or better still, if I mention them, how do I make the assessment authority to not contact the HR or top management? I would like them to contact my direct supervisor if they must.

Secondly, the other job I did before moving to EEDC, in a construction company, we were paid in cash with no document to prove receipt and I didn't really pay taxes. How do I prove I was paid?

Thirdly, I read Civil Engineering in a federal university, but I now work with Enugu Electricity Distribution Company as a Field Supervisor. Will this affect my assessment?

cc: bellong
This is one of the reasons why one must leave this country. When did requesting for letter become an issue for sack?
Your colleagues that were sacked, was this really really directly related to the migration enquiries or just a cover up?
God will help us.

You can't avoid listing your company. That could cause a rejection of your application and possible ban for 5 years and above.

To make assessing body not contact your company is dependent on the assessing body and sometimes the document you have submitted. Most of them will contact only the person who issued the reference letter but for DHA, the possibility of contact your reference is almost zero.
Your occupation may not even be verified by DHA at all but in recent times, if or when DHA do verify, they call or email your company's line most likely the numbers or email address on the company's website.

DHA is very unpredictable in that aspect. In my case, my employment verification was sent to my organisation's contact center email address with copies of the reference letter and payslip I submitted, even though the letter was specifically signed by two senior HR business partners. Everyone who has access to the contact center email would have read the email from DHA (lol). It was later forwarded to HR who responded to DHA.
I know few people who DHA sent verification officers to their offices in Lagos, Akure and PH for physical verifications.

My advise for Assesment, get your supervisor to prepare and sign the reference letter on a plain paper with his/her full contact details. For DHA visa application, these ones will decide which method to use for your application.

2. Get payslip, get reference letter. I hope you have employment letter. You may also have to pay the tax or forget the employment details. (this also depends on your assessing body. If its TRA, don't even bother to put such employment details at all if you don't have the required documents.)

3. If what you do does not tally with what you studied (I don't know what a field engineer does in EEDC), you may not get a positive outcome from EA. Case of qualification and aligned experience is per assessing body but for EA in this case, it may not fly.

Good day everyone,

Please I need some clarifications regarding my best course of action here;

I have Bsc in Economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University (formerly Osu), 2003
Accounting Technician Scheme certificate from ICAN in 2008
MBA (finance ) from OAU in 2014
ICAN ACA 2017

I currently work in an O&G Company as a Senior Financial Accountant with more than 10 years experience.

Less I forget, I am 43 years old, married with 3 kids and my wife currently works with LASG with NCE (Economic/Maths) 2002, Bed(sc) Economics with more than 10 years experience, and she is 40 years old.

Could you kindly advise.......which of the above will give me a better chance in terms of Assessment. Looking at 491 visa category as an Accountant.
Sincerely, no state is currently nominating Accountant except you have a job offer because it's the most competitive role in Australia here.
With your age and qualifications, you are likely not gonna full 15 points from any of the assessing bodies but it's good if you start the assessment process. You can add extra 10 points to your wife's points if you get competent English and positive assessment.
Of course, you will get a positive assessment, but the approved years of experience is what you will find out after the result is released.
You will also need to write IELTS Academic or PTE for a skill assessment with any of the 3 accounting bodies.

What's your wife experience, you only mentioned her qualifications?

Your assessment result will state your degree AQF (if it's a bachelor's degree or Associate degree). Unilag BSc is a Bachelor's degree.

I did not get your question.

Were you referring to relevancy of degree to occupation? Sociology and IT can never be related likewise

Perhaps you were referring to the classification of universities into Tier 1 or 2? That's done by Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Sadly, Nigeria's education profile has not been updated since August 5, 2013.

I attended the University of Benin, Sociology and Anthropology I have been working for 9 years now, all on IT, but 6 years on the networking line.
It does not seem you have enough years for ACS to deduct.

With your CCNP certification, getting a positive assessment will depend on the occupation you wish to nominate and the description. This is also not guaranteed as ACS may deduct the whole 6 years.

What year did you get the CCNP and BSc? Is the CCNP still active?
