Emerald86: The MSC certificate was gotten last year, the 7 years experience is with my BSC. Do I still stand a chance? Most likely - no. Cos all the 7 years experience will be zero and there is no assurance of a positive assessment cos I don't think your role falls into any of the description listed on Anzsco code for IOP |

Emerald86: I had done the needful. The occupation that most suit my profession is public relation professional and information and organization professional. However, job tasks wasn't stated in the later and I might have to twerk my job description a little to suit any of the above For PRP, you will need to use your Msc and BSc while only experience after the date on your Msc certificate will be approved by Vetassess. Same goes for IOP (nec) see the description on Anzsco website. DescriptionThis unit group covers Information and Organisation Professionals not elsewhere classified. It includes Electorate Officers, Liaison Officers, Migration Agents (Aus) / Immigration Consultants (NZ) and Patents Examiners. |

I have tried to read through the links, but some of them ain't responding. This is my profile:
Field: Agricultural Science Degree: MSc (Ibadan), B. Agric - 5 year course Experience: 5 years from first degree Status: Single
Will Subclass 189 or 190 be a good idea What's your experience and which occupation are you nominating? Most states are not sponsoring for 190 especially for offshore while the 189 is for high pointers. So 491 is your best option. You may still get 190 but don't rely only on it |

gladysene89: Please explain,
I do not understand what is needful.
Like others, would marriage better my chances? Will a P.gd increase my chances? Should I rewrite IELTS? Which stream is best for me - 190 OR 491? Are there other occupations I can claim?
B.sc is NOT Unilag.
Please and please advise. In simple terms Level 1 occupations -- only 4 or 5 year degrees from OAU, UI, Unilag and Futa are allowed -- only 5 year degrees from other Universities will fly. Level 2 occupations and below - any degree or Diploma P.S. there are few assessing bodies that does not follow this rule. 2. Marriage will better your chance if your spouse has skilled occupation that can be assessed positively and a good score in IELTS. If not, get your points yourself and get your spouse to write English test only. Single 10 pointsMarried with positive assessment + IELTS 6 or 50 in PTE - 10 pointsMarried with only IELTS 6 or 50 in PTE (no/negative assessment) - 5 pointsMarried with no assessment or English - 0 point3. Pgd ---not at all 4. 190 is State Permanent resident visa 491 is not a PR visa, you will only be able to apply for PR after 3 years that you have landed. Read more online or on Immigration website. 5. Go thru the list on www.anzscosearch.com/search for all list of occupation |

Mamabigboy: Good day everyone. I hope we are good and keeping safe. I received a scanned assessment result letter from AIMS this morning, they had earlier sent the original copy which got stuck in God knows country due to COVID19 pandemics. The outcome of my assessment fetched me 10 years 2 months experience as a Lab technician. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions on this platform, most especially @tunlex01 and @Bellong, God bless you, I appreciate it. I will need a lot of clarifications and guidance during the course of this journey, I hope you guys will be there to put me through. My questions now are as follows: 1.To anyone who sat for AIMS exam, was it really worth it, or I should just maintain Lab technician? 2. I have an overlap in the start&end dates of employment at two places of work. I used my terminal leave at workplace A to resume at workplace B giving an overlap of days, how do I justify this during application? Best regards Congratulations on your positive assessment. 1. Best you do it when you land. Just stick to the MLT for now but if you have enough money, you can go for it. 2. Just write a letter of explanation when you apply for visa. As long as you have offer letter and other documents. |

Thanks family. You are right on track. Please keep rewriting the Pte till you get your 20 points. 80 points is still low for family sponsored visa. No other region is available, even NSW requires 5 years experience which you don't have. |

ajayidebo: @tunlex01 I need a clarification on @omoluabiade last question. If HND alone is enough for assessment for occupation under Skill Level 2 without including ND, shouldn't the same apply for MSc and BSc?
@omoluabiade, if you're not going to provide transcript and certificate for a degree, don't include them on the application. Just to add, even if you include them on the application from onset, you can always send a mail/instruction to Vetassess not to assess that particular degree. it applies. Just the Msc is fine. if Vetassess wants more, they will send the request to you. |

Canadahome: Thank you so much for taking out time to answer my questions.
From what I read, I could add extra 5 points if I am married and my partner makes up to 6across all bands in Ielts. This would bring my total point to 80. Well, I am planning to get married before the end of the year. I think this 80 is a good point depending on the situation after the pandemic.
I have been on Canada immigration and I am waiting for WES to release my evaluation report. Because of this pandemic, I am trying to have a plan B in case the scores becomes high after the whole crisis.
Since, I stand a good chance, I would have to see how to start my assessment with Vetassess after the lockdown while I observe how things are going on the Canada stuff.
Finally, am I suppose to have money in my account when applying for 491? If yes, how much, please. I didn't see anything like that. You will not get the extra 10 points for single if you get married. That means for you to get 10 points as a married person, you spouse must have a positive skill assessment and at least 6 in IEltS |

omoluabiade: Okay. Thanks for this. Is it possible to include a degree without assessing it? Or is VETASSESS only to assess qualification against work experience? Is it also possible to assess just the highest qualification (MSc)? Yes, for PhD as long as the minimum requirements is satisfied which include Trade test, Bachelor's degree or Master's (for lecturers) Vetassess or any assessing body assess both the qualification and experience. You can submit just the MSc only. |

@omoluabiade, on a second thought, id advise you use your Bsc and MSc only for assessment with Vetassess. Add your PhD when you are lodging EOI. Save your stress Vetassess inconsistencies in that aspect. |

readandwrite: Hello, please I have a question, I pulled the below quote from someone that put together a guide for applying for the PR visa: "Some occupations are invited on pro-rata basis, these occupations are allocated a certain number of invite every draw. So this means people in less popular occupations will get invited faster and also with lesser points. Eg. A valuer can apply with 65 points today and get an invite next month while a software developer with 75 points will have to wait longer. Think of this as every occupation having a separate queue and people getting attended to faster than the other based on the length of the queue. "
So my question is this, - Is this information still valid, because I know that Australia sometimes change their requirements. - I'm a Landscape Architect, does this mean that if my occupation is less popular and I have a score of 75(my stimulated score) I will get invited even though my score is not up to 90(the current score).
Thanks. At the moment, it is not valid for 189 as only applicants with 90 and above have been invited in recent times however this theory works for 190/491. A cabinet maker with 75 points may get an ITA before an Engineer with 95 point. |

any advice please kindly help thanks for the record i have an online store of over 3years i dont know if that can work... First you have to choose an occupation to nominate and any occupation you choose you must have documents to back it up. Since you just registered you business, I'm not sure if that will work cos many years would be lost. Now that you have registered your business, remember to pay your taxes and other regulatory fees. That may work for you in few years to come |
