Lagbenjo: Hello my people. Please I beg of you I need VERY URGENT answers.
Few hours after egg collection , I have been having severe pain from inside my pevic deep down my other reproductive organs . I also feel pain below my tommy with bloating. I drink plenty water and eat a lot of fruits. I complained to the clinic , they kept giving me pain medication . The pain has lasted 4 days now. Am so disturbed because ET is near. Is it advisable to go ahead with ET with the pain ?
Please what is your suggestion or advice? What might have caused this?
Chai ! This thread suppose to have a way of getting message notifications on phone oooooo Pain after egg collection is pretty normal. If you’re not feeling better with pain medication, insist that they screen you for OHSS and freeze your embryos instead. |

Guest911: Tax depends on your employer, does the company operate in Canada or just the US? Canada and US have tax treaty to avoid double taxation.
Secondly do you have to physically be in Detroit during work hours? In other to maintain your PR status you must live in Canada for about 2 years in 5 years.
So even if you have to work in Michigan it would not affect your pr status because you still spend more time in Canada. Work hours are usually 8-10 hours daily Thanks for the response. I’m a doctor so I have to physically be at work. |

Hello. Does anyone know about anyone that lived along the border and worked in the US? (For instance, living in Windsor ON and working in Detroit, MI) I need to make some inquiries relating to tax and maintenance of PR status.
Thank you! |

Good afternoon. I’ll be coming to Canada for the first time in March. I’ll like to know the Nigerian foods that one can carry through the border. Are yam, elubo, garri, plantain chips, Dano milk, Kilishi abbl allowed?
I also want to ask anyone that landed recently if POF was requested at the border. Thank you. |

afagha: Good evening y'all,I'm here again o. Does gift deed have to be typed on an A4 paper? Does a lawyer have to draft it? Can it be done in a day? You can draft it yourself and get it notarized at the magistrate court. There are samples on the first page. |

I submitted via Lekki on August 31 and got my passport back on October 5. So I think you should give it 4 weeks before getting worried. The time frame is still ok. |

Arrowhead12: Hello everyone. Please is it possible for one to hold the POF for Express Entry on Wise (formerly known as TransferWise), rather than in a domiciliary account in Nigeria? I am asking because I plan on holding the required funds in the USD equivalent. Some of the USD I have are from personal savings and the remainder will be received as a gift from a sibling abroad. The largest part of my POF was in Risevest and Shyft which are not exactly banks. What is important is being able to get a Banker’s letter showing your holdings and stating the fact that you’re not indebted to them. |

Oluwaafunmilola: Hello everyone,
My passport expired on Sunday 27th August and I haven’t gotten a new one yet. Will this make my express entry profile ineligible for ITA if there is a draw today?
Thanks I don’t think so. But it’ll be good for you to get a new one before you submit the application so that they won’t have to send ADR for your new passport. |

tshtsh: Lol I’ll start by reminding that Canada is an expensive country due to the high standard of living and a system in place to push/pull as many people as possible towards the middle income bracket. However it’s worse for naira earners due to exchange rate issue. There are somethings we take for granted in Nigeria which is quite a big deal in canada for instance home ownership. Please if you own a house or land do not sell it . Work towards earning the money you intend to spend in Canada in Canada. It’s very possible as I did it and most of my friends also did. You can do it by getting a job before landing or if you’re a family person land first and your family joins you after you get settled as this way you get to spend less of your naira savings. It is also easier for a friend to house you than to house you + your family .
I also believe that moving to Canada for a high skilled work should be more of continuity and not necessarily restarting life. Many will tell you about starting with survival jobs and all but please aim for the high skilled jobs right away. It may not be easy but the more you try the higher the outcome. Try to spend more time around people who moved to Canada via express entry like you’re doing and less time with people who came via aduro. The mindset is different as they may be advising you on how to work around the system to get this benefit or that benefit. Kings don’t live on benefits. Lastly my boss once told me Canada is designed for two people (household). Make proper plans and you’ll be alright . God bless. Thank you for this insight. |

Did you attach the conversion screenshot from oanda with your POF document? No. I didn’t. |

braine: This means they just reviewed your eligibility? I thought that stage would be complete by now. How much time were you given to provide the updated POF? Also did your follow your application on the PR tracker? I know someone who has the same AOR as you and has received PPR. I was given a month. Tracker didn’t change much since biometrics. I guess different VOs and different timelines. I know someone that submitted POF purely in ₦ but didn’t get ADR for update POF and got her PPR last week. Just my luck I guess. |

Just got an ADR saying “ Funds, proof: It appears you no longer meet the required funds due to the drop in value of the Nigerian Naira. A family of 2 is currently required to demonstrate CAD$17,127 in available funds, unencumbered by debt or obligation. Please demonstrate proof you have this amount available to you.”
And I’ve been slacking in putting the funds together. Will it be advisable to convert all our ₦ and put in my dorm account at this point? |

I’m married but I applied with my maiden name. We used marriage certificate as evidence. Realpaulpat: Hello house. Please I need advice on what to do. I and my wife just recently got married (March). And we plan on applying for the Federal Skilled Worker (Express Entry). So my question is Can she use her current names now to apply (With my Names) despite the fact that her employment letter came in with her Names without mine before marriage... Should we apply with the different names and use our marraige certificate as evidence for we being a couple. Or we should go for a change of name before applying?
NB Her passport still needs Change of name.
Thanks |

GraciousWords: If you have more money based on today's rate then maybe send updated POF. If not maybe wait for an ADR or send a webform asking if they need updated POF. Don't really know what the best approach is, sorry. I was 100% sure the applicant would have been given the opportunity to provide updated POF.
IRCC should really consider using a monthly average. Thank you. I think I’ll send the web Form to stall in order to get the funds together. |

temiloba: Hi. Please can anyone who has submitted and gotten PPR email since the latest POF update by IRCC confirm if POF is locked at submission? Someone with AOR May 24th was just refused due to insufficient POF (most likely a result of the flunctuation of the Naira). Could that be a reason, even if the POF was sufficient as at the point of submission? Really worried about this oh. My AOR is the same date and POF Is short by about 600CAD using the new rate. |
