allhavesinned: The VWP is for the 7 countries banned= Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, or Yemen At this point, you're simply arguing to save face... First off, the VWP stands for "visa waiver program"... which applies to approximately 48 countries whose citizens can travel to the US for 90 days visa free... all 7 countries you listed are not included. What the EO bans is the visa INTERVIEW waiver program... read below... Sec. 8. Visa Interview Security. (a) The Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the Visa Interview Waiver Program and ensure compliance with section 222 of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1222, which requires that all individuals seeking a nonimmigrant visa undergo an in-person interview, subject to specific statutory exceptions."All" individuals is noted in the official copy of the EO. There is no indication that this is restricted to just 7 countries. |

allhavesinned: Dropbox is still valid, I got my renewal ( 2 yrs) via Abuja last Friday, 27/01/2017 You obviously submitted your passport earlier than the 27th. If you read the link justwise posted, the EO banning interview waiver was done on the evening of the 27th (US EST). Considering that Nigeria is approximately 6 hours ahead of the US EST, you recieved your renewal BEFORE the EO was signed. This is the problem with many here, they don't read and think before they speak. |

allhavesinned: TWOOD: Ur I too know is becoming boring, dropbox still valid, write the US embassy and get correct info before jumping on every comment. How do u knw she will find it difficult renewing her visa. U be consular, VO or trump, which one u be? Under/Overdo personality You are the one with the problem. There is an EO that basically cancelled interview waivers (i.e. dropbox). It was signed friday... you can find a copy on the web... its common knowledge. The state department/consulate will determine how the EO is carried out. i simply dropped a piece of info that others have shared here... infact, the very post above your unserious comment posted a link to that very fact... how did you miss it in your blind zeal to be seen to be saying something? Secondly, you should read the VOs response to an identical case on the non-immigrant visa thread. Basically if you obtained a visa for vacation, then you should use it FIRST for that purpose, come back and you can then go back for birthing later. This is again knowledge you can find for yourself if you do your home work. The problem isn't my personality, its with people who have a serious problem with facts they don't wish to hear. Good luck. |

teepee4Him: Thanks for the info shared bro.
Pls, with respect to the info on North Carolina, I just applied for a Masters at NC State A&T (with the hope of getting a transfer by Fall) and I was thinking that a RA or TA would take care of the tuition.
I will appreciate if you have more info and can assist with respect to the exact % that might be defrayed from the tuition by a RA/TA offer.
Average cost of housing, available/cheap means of transportation etc and any other useful info will be appreciated.
Thanks. 1. Ask your program coordinator or program director, they will be able to give you exact figures as to tuition costs and how much is defrayed by an assistantship. 2. Use google! Its easy to go on craigslist, type in the name of the town you intend to go and search for rentals... that would give you an idea how much you would expect to pay. |

A friend called me from Canada saying no more instant citizenship for children of non immigrate born in the US. Pls people that has info on this issue torch light the matter for us oh. Instant citizenship for a child born in the US is enshrined in a constitutional amendment... it cannot be revoked by executive order. Only congress can rescind it and it will be very difficult to do (although in the trump climate - who knows). |

Secondly, can she go to school with the type of Visa while working with the church.
What are the likely questions she might be asked at the point of entry not minding that She is a frequent traveller and that is her third visa (B1/B2 ). So she's basically seeking an R1 visa as a route to immigrate to the US? Tomorrow you'll be complaining that the US has unfairly blocked Nigerians from using that visa category. |

@LagosNIV sir; pretty sorry to call your attention here. Kindly help us validate or debunk please. Thanks The order instructs the secretary of state to provide "safe areas" in Syria and surrounding areas where Syrian nationals who have been displaced can reside. It also instructs the secretary of homeland security to speed implementation of a biometric entry-exit tracking system. Finally, the order instructs the secretary of state to "immediately suspend the Visa Interview Waiver Program," and requires interviews of all non-immigrant visa seekers.http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/1/25/14390106/leaked-drafts-trump-immigrants-executive-order |

"Change over after a while" So her intention is to try to stay over after using religious visa to gain entry? That is not at all in the spirit of an R1 visa! Using religion to try for a back door entry is immoral! Why? Afterall its a small lie "in the name of the lord" Her "case may be different" too. |

Classified60: DRASTIC IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT IS NOW HERE. Section 5 of President TRUMP'S EXECUTIVE ACTION on Immigration titled "Enhancing Public Safety within the Borders of the United States" announced today is deceptively broad, and applies to all immigration law violators, not only felons.
WHAT DOES THIS EXECUTIVE ACTION STATES? It states as follows: Sec. 5. Enforcement Priorities. In executing faithfully the immigration laws of the United States, the Secretary of Homeland Security (Secretary) shall prioritize for removal those aliens described by the Congress in sections 212(a)(2), (a)(3), and (a)(6)(C), 235, and 237(a)(2) and (4) of the INA (8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(2), (a)(3), and (a)(6)(C), 1225, and 1227(a)(2) and (4)), as well as removable aliens who: (a) Have been convicted of any criminal offense; (b) Have been charged with any criminal offense, where such charge has not been resolved; (c) Have committed acts that constitute a chargeable criminal offense; (d) Have engaged in fraud or willful misrepresentation in connection with any official matter or application before a governmental agency; (e) Have abused any program related to receipt of public benefits; (f) Are subject to a final order of removal, but who have not complied with their legal obligation to depart the United States; or (g) In the judgment of an immigration officer, otherwise pose a risk to public safety or national security.
SECTION 5 does not start and stop with individuals convicted of serious offenses. It is all encompassing.
TO WHOM THIS EXECUTIVE ACTION APPLIES? This provision applies to anyone in the U.S. illegally. If you have overstayed, this provision applies to you. If you are charged but not convicted this provision applies to you. If your offense is a misdemeanor, this provision applies to you. If you came to the U.S. with false or fraudulent documents, this provision applies to you. If you admit to committing an offense for which you were never charged or convicted, this provision applies to you.
WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES TO YOU? This means if you are found, you will be detained. You have a right to proceedings before an Immigration Judge, and depending on your immigration infraction you may be eligible for bond. Catch and Release, under Trump, will be no more. There may well be new interpretations of existing immigration laws, which may make it harder to get relief from removal.
WHAT CAN YOU DO NOW? For those who overstay, including those with certain criminal convictions and immigration violations, you may still be able to legalize your status, obtain waivers, and barring significant changes in interpretation of existing immigration laws, relief from removal is available. Now is the time to understand how this new policy will impact your stay in the U.S., and to seek whatever relief available under current law, including adjustment of status. I doubt that any of this has a lot to do with Nigerians here... i think the big thing is the doing away of the dropbox option. From now on, everyone must appear for an in-person interview. |

I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks and God bless If you fail to attend classes, your school is obligated to report to immigration and you are now deportable. You can defer your admission but you need to come back to your home country ASAP. |

nemesiis: Hello Guys.. hope y'all doing fine...
So I just finished my BSC and wanted to go overseas (USA) and do my masters, or maybe any professional course/experience another country( not necessarily doing the masters)
I had Germany in mind but after discussing with my parents and close friends they said germany is out of it because of the language barrier and other issues I don't want to bore you with
So my dad contacted a travel agent who helped his friend's newphew and others enter the US to make inquiries..
So below is the 2 options (and Fee) the man gave
1. 2 year B1/B2 visa (tourist Visa I guess)
Requirements: intl passsports, visa fee (#54,000), travel history (#35,000), Documentation(#40,000) and then #650,000 to be paid to him once visa is out, he ddnt mention any ticket fee which means the total amount will go higher (he said I ll be going with a family moving to the US). And he also said he could help work this Visa for onward movement to Canada,
2. Student Visa
Requirements: intl passports, university certificate, secondary school cert, transcripts, processing fee of #300,000, CV
And then he further said once I get an offer, I ll be required to make a deposit of $3000, and then Visa application fee of $1000
So This brought up some questions in my mind I wanted to clarify before making any payment to the man which I hope people here with experience could help me answer (please!)
1. Are these fees correct (or at least within the range) or the man is just trying to rip me off?
2. How much should be my budget (school fees, accommodation and all) in my course of getting a masters degree in the US?
3. Is there any possibility of getting any job with B1/B2 Visa?
4. Is it advisable to skip NYSC in pursuance of a masters degree overseas?
I ll be so happy if you guys can help me answer these questions
Thanks 1. It seems you have a lot of money to waste. 2. It doesn't seem like you have done any home work at all... all the information you need is on the web. 3. This route will make sure you never get to travel to the US, Canada or the UK ever again. 4. All that to say, don't try it! |

Classified60: Bros my take is this.. Before changing anything let there be a longer time frame to justify your next application so that the vo's dont smell something fishy.. 1. i feel you should continue with the lie you have used. all you need is to be comfident with what the agent has used for you at the interview except you com clean in your next application that you use a false document in your previous application. 2. You probably was not prepared fully for the previous interview before going. God will help you. I bet this person went to Shiloh or The Experience... its clear he learnt nothing from both charades. |

Stop coming here to insult us because some people commit offence or lie. When it comes to humans, dont use sample to judge population. This is sheer idiocy and you know it. That's the sad part, you know how silly your own "solution" sounds, but its become the rote stuff you guys throw around. As i said before, America can vote for buffoons as president and yet still remain a strong country. What makes a nation is not the president, it is the people themselves. A president can be well meaning, but he can't do anything if he has to lead a population of desperate frauds and incompetent liars. You had plenty of good presidential people run the last time, yet you voted for a cattle rearer with zero experience in governance. Yeah sure, even you would not waste your time running for president. C'mon now... we should be past this type of yawn-inducing stuff. |

sirRiddy: Every human being deserves respect. That is fundamental. If you disrespect me personally, that still makes sense if we have personal grouse. We may have a disagreement but you should not just put everyone in a box, that is myopic and primitive, to say the least. The country you revere so much and see as a shining light respects the right of every human being, even felons. It is sad you did not learn that part. Good luck to you as well. So if someone rapes your child, they would still deserve respect? My friend, please stop the insincere nonsense. I'm glad you acknowledge that the US respects the rights of every human. Does your country do the same? Here again is where you expose your insincerity, if you respected the rights of others, you would not lie on visa interviews neither would you support fraud. |
