I wasn't sure if Australia immigration process includes Having and Showing POF?

No need for POF if gunning for the 189 visa.
You only need proof of funds if going for 190 and even at that not all states demand it.Some states require it,some don't.
It nothing to be worried about unless you're sure you skill is sponsored by a state that requires POF

Hello house,am new to this thread,I have read through but still have this bone,so kindly indulge me if my enquiries seem dumb. My best friend is a chartered accountant here in Nigerian. She had her B.sc in 2003 and has been working as an internal auditor with a multinational firm after nysc in 2005 but became chartered in 2010. Question 1. She wants to be assessed by vetasses,do u think she will claim points for the full years worked?
Question 2. Will her 65 points get her a visa 189 given she's in the accounting circle(internal audit).
Question 3. Outside asking your bank to increase your daily limit, how else can someone pay for the vetassess fee for evaluation?
Cc:belong and other guru,kindly assist.
With regards to question 2,if there's anyway she can get more than 65 points as an accountant/auditor she should pursue it with all zeal. The last 65 points accountant invited by 189 was around Oct/Nov last year.
So there's a backlog from then and she's going to join the queue maybe Aug this year.

I have had 70points as external auditor since February and NSW has not even looked at my side.I reassessed with ICAA as general accountant since June and still yet no invite(the first round of invite happened on 6th July and mostly 75pointers were invited).
Even auditors there's no news about them been invited on that 6th.TBA is what Dibp put against the occupation as at 2days ago.

I would suggest though that you assess with ICAA as they tend to be quite lenient and you can assess multiple occupations with them. They assesed me positive with only a first degree from a state university.
I hear with CPA,you can only have one valid skill assessment with them.So if they assess you positive as auditor, you would need another body to assess you as accountant.

Hello @Bellong and @Ome240

Just to be sure, from the statement below, does it mean that IELTS written in 2013 is still valid as it falls "within 3 years before invited to apply".

Note: I have not been invited to apply.

Yes that's what it means. With Dipb,IELTS results are valid for 3years

For those of us just starting to register for IELTS, when can the likelihood of invitation come up? This year or next year?
Depending on how committed you are to the process, you can definitely get your invite this year.
Even the PR is achievable this year.

You should do airbnb. Got a good deal on there. Few pointers.......
Don't forget to check the filters and ensure where you are renting is family friendly.
Some people charge for extra guests.... contact the host to ensure your baby doesn't count as extra guests. And also ask of their tolerance for having a new born around
You can ask for deals/discount.... I did and my future host gave me a very good deal.

If i remember anything else id let you know. Cheers

Thanks madam

@bellong,

I'm asking on behalf of a friend. He studied chemical engineering for his Bsc and has Msc computer science. He has been in IT ever since(about 8years now)
Do you think his Msc computer science from Unilag is enough to get a positive assesment from ACS?

Please is there a way one can migrate to Australia as a permanent resident without work
Experience .

Yes it's possible. If your points can add up to 60 without experience, you can apply.Even if it's up to 55 points, you can request for state sponsorship to make it 60

@tyosho,

Why does he want to remove company A from his experience?

Company was a job he did during Nysc and shortly after. Not a lot of paperwork to provide as evidence. No Payslips or bank statements.Only a letter from the MD stating he worked there and appointment letter presently available.
Although ICAA seemed satisfied with the little he provided and deemed the experience relevant

Hello bellong,debsty,pingu2k5 and other gurus in the house,

Quick question.Hubby was assesed based on his experience with two different companies. As at the time of his assesment lAst year,Company A gave him 1year and Company B gave him 4years totaling 5years and making him 10points.
As it stands now,he's spent 5years with company B so he wants to remove Company A completely entirely from his EOI or mark it as non relevant on his EOI.
What do you think?Could that give him issues when he's invited and now has a case officer?
I hope my question is clear enough.

How do we apply for an extension

When I went to have my first baby in 2012,I was given just 3wks becos I failed to inform them I was pregnant.
I applied for a four month extension and was given.I renewed my visa vie Dropbox a year later, wasn't called for an interview and still got my 2year visa.Exact same thing happened to a friend that travelled a couple of days after me.
So fret not.Go online, read up on extending your I-94(or so).The most important thing though is your application MUST get to USCIS before the expiration of the 2months given to you.

Hello All,

Please has anyone done his/her education assessment with CPAA , using ICAN, + BSc certificates? Was a positive assessment given? I have been reading in other forums, that with ACCA , CPAA would definitely give a positive assessment. I am trying to take a poll if its same for ICAN certificates.

Cheers

Hello debsty,

Pls I need you to confirm that my EOI application is fine.I applied for 190 with NSW since Oct 2015 but nothing yet. However I noticed you were asked to apply in less than a month after EOI submission.

In my case It was the same EOI I used for both 189 and 190 application, selected NSW SS on the EOI and that's all.
Pls is that correct?I don sit down for expat forum and different people have been talking about how they have been invited even though they applied after us.occupation is external auditor and we have 65points(with SS).

Have you applied for state nomination of NSW website?

Your old passport has been cancelled without prejudiced, it is no longer valid for travel.

Contact DIBP ASAP to transfer your visa to the new passport.

I have a 10year uk visa on an old passport that's been cancelled without prejudice. All I do is travel with both passports and it's never been an issue.

Thanks for this detailed information. Vetassess usually do not equate most Nigerian 4-years degrees to Australian Bachelor degrees but rather an Associate degrees which will result to negative assessment mostly.

The individual I asked question on her behalf has BSc.Economics but unfortunately got negative assessment due to the issue I mentioned above. So, I'm considering if she could give external auditor with ICAA a go.
I think she can.Her syllabus content though is very very key to Icaa.

Congrats on your positive assessment. Really, you could have just applied for skilled independent visa-189 since you have 60 points. But checking through occupation ceilings for this financial year, you are only left with State nominations. And the only state that I know that their nomination is very fast is South Australia. However, they have fewer opportunities compare to NSW whose nomination process is very slow.

Could please advise the house the occupations you previously nominated, your qualification and years of experience so that others can learn from your experience? pingu2k5:
Sorry it took a while to respond.Hubby studied accounting at a state university and finished with a 2.2.He presently works with an insurance organisation that examines the financial records of banks. His first assesment was with Vetassess as an internal auditor but he was given a negative mark.
Next he tried with Icaa as an external auditor but it was noticed that at least one compulsory course was missing from the transcript he submitted! So he withdrew the assesment from Icaa and went back to his school to request for a new transcript. After about 6months,he got the new transcript and applied again to Icaa using his previous documents.
P.s- he included his positive WES assesment this second time around.Hes a member of ACAA but he's not written any exams with them. This November makes his post nysc work experience 5years.
