Good morning Abuja niv, I have an interview appointment on Nov 4th because I applied to go for medical seminar in Washington. This trip is sponsored by my company(an NGO based in Abuja). As it stands, some other programs have come up and I will not be abailable to go for the seminar as it clashes with a more important program here in Nigeria. Pls wha do you suggest I do?I have already stated in my submitted form that I will be going for that seminar and I don't know if it's okay to turn up on my interview day now saying I'm only going for tourism purposes |

angiesteve: Pls try ICAA.My hubby is an auditor. The same job experience got him a positive skill assesment as a general accountant(the same documents he used to get a positive skill assesment as auditor is the same he used for general accountant). His first degree was accounting. 1 Like |

trav: I apologise for just responding to this. For question two;using her maiden name is not an issue.I have been married over 4years and still use mine.I have renewed passports and visas and it's never been an issue regarding my marital status so fret not. Question one get plenty answers and I see Bellong too Don respond. She can do without the CFA.I got a positive assessment with only a first degree so her first degree with ICAN is just fine. If you can afford it,Pls assess as both auditor and management accountant with ICAA(I say ICAA because they are the most lenient of the 3 accounting bodies and can give you valid multiple assesments). Accounting is VERY competitive right now. With two positive skill assessments, you stand a better chance.Aim to have at least 70points(we had 70points and it still took 4months before we got invites as auditors!) In last financial year July 2015-June 2016,there were only 1000 slots for auditors in the 189 program and they finished in September 2015.This year has about 1377 slots and they could finish anytime as well. A lot people too are on the queue for 189 accountants so the earlier you join that queue,I would say the better. But there's always state sponsorship which isn't bad at all as well. Can u do gen accountant instead of management accountant though?Easier to get state sponsorship of gen accountant over mgt accountant |

isaleko: If you can,Pls aviod Dr C and Prince George.I used PG in 2012 and my baby almost developed serious complications becos of their carelessness if not for God. As for Dr C I didn't use him but I have a close friend who did and she didn't enjoy him at all.not a very pleasant elderly man. The dr I used then was DR A.He"s half Syrian half Italian as was voted best Dr in PG for about 2years in a row back then.Last I heard of him,he's now affiliated to other hospitals apart from PG. Very patient, pleasant and excellent doctor. I don't want my message deleted is y I didn't include his full name 1 Like |

Hello house I got my invite some days back. I got NSW 190 last Friday but as God would have it,I was invited for 189 last Tuesday. So hubby and I picked 189. We have since lodged our application for a family of four. All documents uploaded apart from form 80 and 1221. Medicals are on Monday at Fatai Williams and they told us it's going to cost over 180k(they have increased prices they said). Skill is external auditor with 70 points. Took us over 5months to get the invite but all the same Na GODWIN 14 Likes |

feddy27: I have actually. Not sure if it was with my old moniker though. First experience was MD.Was almost sent back.the manager on duty stopped the entry denial and gave me just 3wks instead.I got in,filed for an extension and was given 4months. I was over the moon when the Dropbox method was introduced cos I didn't imagine what I would tell the CO when re applying. I reapplied and was given.Wasnt even called for an interview even with my border issues and applying for an extension. With baby two I went to Dallas, sent change of intent. No issues at POE. I detailed my experience in part 3 of this thread. But I think it was under my old moniker. 6 Likes |

I have applied 3times. First was for strictly holiday.Second and third (Dropbox)were for childbirth. If not for adupif"s response, I almost would have applied for an interview on my next renewal instead of Dropbox. And no,I never supplied hospital correspondence for any of my previous trips only change of intent letters because all visas were gotten before I became pregnant. 2 Likes |

http://skillselect.govspace.gov.au/2016/07/20/invitations-for-pro-rata-occupations-in-the-20-july-2016-round/. Due to technical issues, no invitations were issued for occupations subject to pro rata arrangements in the 20 July 2016 invitation round. Normal pro rata arrangements will resume from the first invitation round of August 2016. Meaning Accountants and some ICT professions were not sent invites. This people no go kill person. This also means more backlog of 75pointers that will naturally be ahead of everyone else. NSW says they will begin invitations July ending and I hope that's this week. |

toslad: If u can afford both Pls do.there were only 1000 slots for auditors in last FY.These slots finished by September;meaning there's already a backlog of auditors waiting to be invited since that time. You will have to join the queue whenever you finish.Bear in mind we have about 1400 slots for this new year. If going for 189 visa as auditor, then aim for at least 70points. Good thing though is quite a couple of states sponsor auditors.so even with 65points you have a strong edge. Tasmania requires 80 points South Australia requires you have a job offer Northern territory requires POF and plenty documentation NSW requires that u just choose them in your EOI and then they invite you if interested.Quite a couple of people here have been invited by NSW within two weeks of applying. For accountants, same thing applies.only that with 189 they have 2500 slots. I know someone who applied for four skilled assessments at the same time with ICAA. No time. So the choice is yours really. |

bellong: On it bellong.Thanks. Hopefully this week they will enter June applications for accountants! We reassessed as accountants in June. For auditors, last invite I heard of was Oct 2015 with 70points.Even at that,Dipb hasn't confirmed any such information. They only mentioned to be adviced for auditors. 1 Like |

uzziii: You maa for patiently read that link before referring me to it. A new financial year just started 1st July 2016 and the first selection round took place on 7th July. The second for this financial year will be happening this coming Wednesday. The accountant ceiling for this FY is 2500.That for auditors is about 1400.For accountants they have invited just over 100 and for auditors, there's no info from dibp yet. Out of the over 100 accountants invited, none was a 65pointer.Only 75pointers and 70pointers.The last 65pointer invited submitted Oct last year. The last 70pointer invited submitted May 30th. I would advice that anyone with less than 70points as accountant or auditor should humbly fill another EOI for state sponsorship. Or else you're in for a pretty long wait. 1 Like |
