Pls I can't remember the date I was denied cos I dnt knw if it would be required of me wen filling the form.. And secondly I own an enterprise coy with cooperate accnt and personal account of 2.5mila and 700k respectively pls I need advise if am good to go and am single..

Any section on the DS-160 form asking for details you cant recollect, just leave such column blank so as not to contradict your past information with the present.

The details of your job is relevant in the visa process as well as your job related activities. They are some of the questions the CO would be asking you.

Also being single may not have a negative impact on the visa outcome the way your economic and financial ties to Nigeria does....

Just fill your new DS-160 form with your new passport number and go along with your expired International passport to the interview...

That was what was asked on the website bro..there is no place to even write my old passport number sir.. do you advice i create a new profile and i will go to the interview with both passport sir?because if i use the other profile, it means my old passport number will be on my appointment letter.

That was why i stated that if the problem persists, fill a new DS-160 with a new profile but retain all your information in your old form for consistency....

1.There is no problem with your passport not uploaded on the form. Just take your passport photograph along with you to the interview.

2. Fill another DS-160 form

3. Call the Embassy to re-shedule your appointment with the new code from your new DS-160 form or you can send an e-mail to them.

A section on the DS-160 form has a column for any previous passports used. You can enter your details there. If this current issue you're experiencing persists, create another profile and ensure the details you have in your previous DS-160 form, correspond with this new form.

You're a fresh graduate as claimed, no job, no family ties, no properties in Nigeria. These indicators gives any CO a flash light about an intending immigrant.

The CO(s) will be saying to him/herself, ''Hey! why not this guy go to Uk, Germany, France, Dubai etc for this conference, why the States?I smell a young potential immigrant with no home ties and no previous travel experience''.

You also have an option of student visa. I guess you read my meaning.....?

Remain single as you're even when filling your DS-160 form and your tourist visa application is problem free.

Once you've been fortunate to secure the visa and you're tired of visiting the States, then your spouse can petition for you at the appropriate time. It is faster if he becomes a US citizen.....

If only you've travelled previously for a similar conference abroad, then convincing the CO that your purpose is solely for conference and not immigration, might not be difficult.

A previous travel related experience to either the UK, the Shengen territory and someplace else, would have assisted your application.....

I found a conference that suits my

Do you have a stable job, are you married, do you own assets..? Your reply to these questions will give the forum an idea on how to assist your cause....

thelonestranger: If you are going to holiday with relatives in usa and you say that you will be paying your flight expenses is it compulsory that you have a lot of money in your bank statement when you go for the interview even though you do not plan to travel until several weeks after the interview ?

Your bank statement is just a means to an end, the real deal is your tie to Nigeria i.e. Job, family, marriage, properties etc.

If you have those ties along with a positive showing during your interview, then you're likely to secure the visa.....

You can reapply as soon as you're able.

The advise i'll give you is that you remain consistent in your application and maintain what you stated during your last interview.

This time around, maintain eye contact with the CO but do not stare, never show you're nervous (this is a negative body language), appear confident and certain with your words.

Definitely, and do apply as a group under the same visa category.

Another CO will interview you not the last one you met....

Pls I have a valid multiple B1/B2 visa. When I was given, I actually applied for a tourist visa for vacation which I had already gone and returned in october last year. I had expected a 6 months single B2 visa, but they dashed me a 2 years b1/b2 visa multi for reason best known to them

Now I have a prospect of going for a 2 weeks professional conference in September, can I still use this visa for this given that my purpose at the time of the interview was tourism? What exact advantage does this combined b1/b2 give me?

What you have is a valid combined visa for dual purposes:

B1 >>> Business or Conference
B2 >>> Tourism, Medical or Medical Tourism

All you need is a valid proof for such visit to the States e.g funds at your disposal for medical or paid invited letter for a conference and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer then applies his/her discretion in letting you through passport control....

Gbenge 77: yes,but if a particular CO has denied you previously,he/she cannot interview you next time you apply.You get interviewed by another CO.Its all in the spirit of fair play.

In addition to what Gbenge77 has stated, the DS-160 form in the CO's file, has a section where the names of all CO(s) who have interviewed you at one time or the other, and their assessment as well as their designations are entered.

This allows the CO to know if the visa applicant that pops up on his screen, has been cased by him previously.

Your circumstance since your first refusal has changed, you now have a job, you're engaged to someone and you're with assests. These are good as they are.

But your profile will show you have families who immigrated to the States recently, and this can be a slight setback to your cause.

Nothing is impossible i always believe. Give your application a shot, you never know when the CO will have an oversight....

In your case, getting a Shengen visa for tourism from Nigeria, will be a tall task. You dont have a source of income, no job, no wife & kids and you're being sponsored by someone else.

Shengen visa application/issuance from Nigeria, is a different sort. You will have to convince the ECO of your intentions to depart the Shengen Territory before the expiration of your visa. These ties, i mentioned above.

Your application will be much easier in SA with your school ID, reference letter from your dept, statement of a/c, study permit......

You were seen to be ineligible at the time for a lack of strong tie to your home country.

You need to have a very good tie in Nigeria to stand a chance. Dont forget you have a refusal already and the fact that your parents just immigrated, doesnt help much.

The onus to prove otherwise, lies with you.....

It is better you leave your US host out of the picture if you value your hard earned cash. This is a US citizen you've not met physically and you're talking about the person paying for your flight ticket if granted an uncertain visa.

Better for you to get travel experience some place else to boost your chances, before you apply for pleasure travel to the US.

What are your job duties now and when did you get employed?
