Can't you see how scanty they are?Am a pure NGWA Breed,my both parents are Ngwa. For someone to tag an NGWA man onye Ohuhu,in the name politics will be and has been rejected. This is just the handiwork of losers and non performers, even if Otti is not from Ngwa,we'll never follow TA Orji's stooge. No development will come to Abia with these Armed robbers and election riggers in Abia state. Maybe they also forgot it's Abia Governor in question not NGWA Governor. |

Politics / Re: Another Look At President Jonathan’s Achievements by ubandire(m): 7:34pm On Dec 16, 2013 |
If there is anything that I must not fail to thank Jonathan for, it is the power reforms that he is aggressively pursuing. The dude has impressed me with the direction he is going. He took over power and has completed the NIPP's, he got Diiezani to launch the gas to power emergency plan which has ensured the adequacy of gas to the plants thereby restoring investors confidence to participate in the privatisation of GENCOS. Unlike his predecessors, Jonathan has succesfully carried out the privatisation of PHCN. it is the sure way to go inorder to end the power crisis in Nigeria. Britain went the same direction in 1986 and has made progress thereafter. You can't help but give GEJ kudos for this move. The present challenges that the new DISCOS/GENCOS are facing is expected and Will give way to a new era of power stability and competition. 8 Likes |
Politics / Re: Jonathan Replies Obasanjo: Prove ‘hit-squad’ Allegation Or Remain A Coward by ubandire(m): 2:05pm On Dec 16, 2013 |
Mandelaguy: It is rather too unfortunate that such a matured and old man like Obasanjo will come out to accuse Jonathan of training snipers without having any serious evidence to back his claim up. You are very correct. The onus lies on a person who alleges to prove. OBJ did not furnish a strand of evidence whatsoever in proof of such a grave allegation. It was very petty of him to say "he heard". You cannot go to press with such a heavy allegation relying on hearsay. That was very disingenuous of the former president. |
Politics / Re: BREAKING: Jonathan Replies Obasanjo, Says Letter Self-serving, Provocative by ubandire(m): 1:07am On Dec 12, 2013 |
Funny enough, OBJ accused JONA of supporting other Guber candidates from another party to win elections. Somebody needs to remind that octogenarian that times have changed. Maybe he still thinks elections in Nigeria are manipulated the way he was doing while in office. Jonathan has really tried to reform our electoral process from the crap arrangee elections that Obasanjo bequeathed to Nigeria. Any political party can now win elections in areas where they enjoy support and the incumbency advantage. That is what happened in Ondo and Anambra. President Jonathan's crime is that he doesn't intervene in favour of his party. No not any more. |
Politics / Re: APC Just Paid Helpless Students To Invade Abuja Streets To Protest (pictures) by ubandire(m): 5:22pm On Nov 28, 2013 |
I don't just get it. I don't understand why Tinubu did not go to streets of Awka and Onitsha to protest the alleged rigging of Anambra elections. If they are convinced that APGA won by fraud, they should take the protests to the streets of Anambra where they will derive popular support of the electorate. This protest in Abuja is just a publicity stunt and nothing else |
Politics / Re: Federal Government Approves N42bn For Roads Rehabilitation And Construction by ubandire(m): 11:48am On Nov 28, 2013 |
Whatever the case, it's extremely important that a road is awarded first so that citizens can monitor and track performance. If a road is not awarded, we can't hold anybody accountable. This is a step forward and it shows that those who are in charge are aware of so many of the bad roads we complain about. Thanks GEJ for the award, Execution next. |
Politics / Re: Rivers Got N257.6bn From Federation Account Not 56.2, Says Okonjo by ubandire(m): 11:00am On Nov 26, 2013 |
ballabriggs: You are the one who is over the place on Nairaland trying to defend an obvious goof by Gov Amaechi. He said $5B is missing from ECA. But the Minister of Finance replied him with evidence of deductions from ECA to Rivers State to the tune of over 56 B. Amaechi has tactically dodged the issue. 1 Like |

fyneguy: why is there shortfall in revenue? I think it has to do with oil theft. It has cut short revenue drastically. But things are improving after Gej set up the Uduaghan committee to work out modalities to address the crude theft. The Nigerian Navy has also increased their surveillance of the waterways so less crude is stolen. 1 Like |

I'm very happy that Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is a courageous reformer who braces odds to achieve the desired goal., The finance minister did very well to establish the Soverign Wealth Fund which is intended to replace the illegal ECA. I now understand why the finance Minister was in a war with Governors over SWF. 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: Fani Kayode Urges Nigerians KICK OUT Jonathan 2015 by ubandire(m): 7:30am On Nov 15, 2013 |
Arobam: Femi is the one who deserves to be kicked out of Nigeria for a woeful and corrupt past in government. They are the reason why Nigeria is foot dragging. If they had done half of what Jonathan is doing now, Nigeria would have gone far ahead by now. Exactly! These guys take Nigerians to be fools or people who suffer from amnesia otherwise I don't see how Femi Kayode will have the guts to speak in public about governance. Much as we begrudge Stella for her car scandal, she is poles apart from this d.rug addict in terms of achievements in office. There is actually no airport in Nigeria that has not been upgraded from the mess it used to be while FFK was Minister. There is none. See Benin Airport which used to be like a matchbox during FFK has been turned into a whole new terminal with increased capacity for over 400 passengers under this administration. 2 Likes |

These unionists will do everything to make one last gain from strikes before the private discos/GENCOS take over. So I'm not surprised that they are threatening strike actions today. Let them strike, it doesn't change anything. The handover will take place and finally we will be liberated from the shackles of inefficiency that past administrations exposed us to experience in the hands of PHCN. |

Zutchy: Thank you for saying the truth. Many peeps on this platform are very ignorant and cannot even understand when something good is happening in the polity. I remember watching Ngozi Okonjo Iweala on TV talk about how she introduced the bio metric evaluation exercise which has revealed massive scam in civil service and pensions administration. It just reinforces what Maku has said in this press statement. |

Kenny4lyfe: I agree with you that President Jonathan will end up in the Guiness book of records but for the right reasons. I see him as that only Nigerian President that will finally succeed in fixing the power sector. I have keenly followed his reforms in the sector and can't help but admit that he is about to break the power sector jinx. For this, your guess is good as mine that he will make Guiness Book of Records |
Politics / Re: APC: We’ll Not Attend Jonathan’s National Conference by ubandire(m): 1:14am On Oct 25, 2013 |
I'm so angry about these APC goons. What do they take Nigerians for Are they not the ones who have been disturbing our eardrums with calls for sovereign national conference? What is the difference between national dialogue and sovereign national conference? President jonathan had assured that the report of the national dialogue will guide the process of constitutional amendment in the National Assembly. What else do they want? There is absolutely no way a Soverign national conference can be convoked in the face of a national Assembly elected by the people. Can't someone just talk sense into Tinubu and co? |
Politics / Re: Survey About Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by ubandire(m): 3:16am On Oct 20, 2013 |
presiade: If you're indifferent, like this and drop your comments I would have been indifferent. But on a second thought, I reasoned the fate of ongoing power privatisation and decided that jonathan should be re- elected back to office in 2015. This is one area where this govt has tried tremendously. You have to just give it to them. They have been able to take over the power stations from where OBJ abandoned them to completion. So many of these thermal stations will Defintely add more megawatts to the national grid. I also welcome the idea to privatise all of the power plants to new generation company bidders. That's the way it should be. In advanced countries, govt doesn't run generation companies. It's largely private sector driven. Govt only has the regulatory role. The Nigerian FG will now have to play that regulatory role through NERC. it's a good one by GEJ. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Should President goodluck Jonathan Be Given More Chance To Fix Nigeria? by ubandire(m): 7:37pm On Oct 19, 2013 |
1025: he is fixing nigeria indeed. he just increased the tariff of tokunbo cars. he increased fuel price and electricity tariff is increased every week. corruption is part of his day to day activities. one minister buying two cars for N255M. this is really fixing nigeria as nigerians die in thousands in daily basis. 1. Increase on tariff of tokunbo cars is a nice policy geared towards promoting local manufacturing of cars. Under Jonathan, there has been increased investments in the auto industry of Nigeria. It started with the milestones by INNOSON. Recently, NISSAN and TOYOTA announced plans to set up their plants in Nigeria. 2. Fuel price increase was borne out of partial removal of subsidy. The FG sought to withdraw subsidy completely in a bid to deregulate the downstream sector and thus usher in a competitive market for private investments in Refineries. That would have brought down pump prices further down below N60 ultimately. 3. Electricity tariff increment is necessary to ensure a cost reflective price that will encourage new private bidders of PHCN to generate power and distribute effectively. Even with the increment, Nigeria still has relatively low tariffs in comparison with other developed countries like UK and US |
Politics / Re: Jonathan's Administration: What Went Wrong? by ubandire(m): 9:31am On Oct 11, 2013 |
What went wrong is that many Nigerians thought it was going to be a tea party and the usual populist policies but Jonathan is bent on reforms and full implementation of the transformation agenda. Reforms are like bitter pills which must be swallowed in order to cure the malaise in the system. Take the subsidy removal policy for instance, it touches on the ordinary Nigerian, but its a necessary pain we have to bear in order to deregulate the system and ensure private sector led refineries and competition that will eventually lead to overall reduction of pump price. Bills like PIB are considered offensive by a section of the country, but its necessary for Energy reforms. |

doctokwus: I wonder y nobody has noted d point made by d CAN spokesperson dat its funny seeing a minister appointed by a party in power going to showcase projects executed by anoda party! It was also funny seeing Labaran Maku chiding contractors for poor execution& giving ultimatums wen he doesn't evn know d contract terms& conditions! Look at what you are saying. Once a minister is appointed, he is not a minister for PDP or ACN or APC, he is a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria charged with the responsibility to perform his roles to the whole Country without fear or favour. Maku has the right to chide contractors handling federal Government projects. He has the right to extract information from them about the cost of the projects and the completion date. The public own these projects and they deserve a right to know. I must really say that all this hatred against Maku's tour is uncalled for. The young man is doing the job of informing Nigerians properly and I must commend him for that. If we have ministers like him more, things will more better |

Pk001: I think the contest is between Labaran Maku and Frank Nweke jnr.I agree with you. The difference is that Frank Nweke has more finnesse and speaks phonetic. Maku, on the other hand, has this passionate and humble disposition to the job. Both are intelligent speakers though. But Maku has an edge with the freedom of information bill and other programmes like the Good Govvernance Tour. Those initiatives stand out and will deepen democracy further. |

Countryman93: Since he assumed office as Minister of Information in November 2010, Labaran Maku has not left anyone in doubt of his resolve to have Nigerians experience new frontiers in the art of information dissemination. If it is this one alone, I must admit Maku is different. Those jingles were very irritating in the past. One just turns on the radio and the first thing you hear is noise about "good people. Great nation" it used to be very annoying and I always wondered how that could serve as information dissemination. I never like that rebranding idea. As far as I'm concerned, it was a waste of public funds. What was Akunyili rebranding? It was tantamount to deodorizing bull shit. The present minister's approach looks far better. Especially the ministerial platform and good governance tour. It's far better to show us projects live and direct, as Maku is doing now, instead of rebranding on radio and television. 1 Like |

Undoubtedly GEJ without fear, bias or sentiment,I am an unrepentant OBJ lover, but GEJ is by far more democratic than all of the previous ones put together. Where do we start from? Is the non interference in the affairs of other arms of govt? Respect for rule of law? Transparency in the electoral process?Gej has personally overseen elections that PDP lost, infact PDP has lost more states under GEJ Is it in listening to and acceding to the wishes of the people even when it affects govt policies? They are just to numerous to mention.GEJ by far is. |

Dino Melaye must be thinking we are fools, this is a shameless man that when he was in the house of reps, after collecting some of his allowances and not wanting to dash out some money to his aides will just start play acting that some money was missing from drawers so that he'll appear angry just to avoid giving out. Who's he deceiving?i know so many of his former aides, even when he was still in PDP most of them had already left him to support his opponents. |

No matter what they do now it wouldn't change anything, this bias and favouritism have become the order of the day on this forum and it's very worrisome,I've had so many posts banned in the past cos I didn't massage their ego by dancing to their tune,I had to personally petition Seun through an e mail before they stopped it. We all know Jarus is a Buhari agent on nairaland so I am not really surprised he didi this,Afterall the aim of their camp is to discredit the present aministration by all possible means,so you don't expect the to be happy over the very noble achievements of this regime cos they are enemies of progress which translates into being enemies of govt cos this govt epitomises transformation and good governance. Have we forgotten this post by Jarus over a post 'Who do you prefer to be Nigeria's next President' on July 01 2012'Hear Jarus:" Any poll on NL will always see Buhari coming top".Do we now know where this is coming from? I am more concerned that such characters would be part of the moderators,I am loosing faith. |
