Ndu2000: How can you be so wicked and deceitful? You left all the the numerous roads I mentioned to choose ENUGU-PORTHARCOURT EXPRESSWAY. there was never a time I mentioned Enugu-PORTHARCOURT express in that publication. I listed roads totaling over 1000 km across the federation. Because you know they are all true, you did not bother to post a single pic of those roads but rather unintelligently went to post pics of a road that did not appear in the radar of those achievements. It is on record. Facts don't lie. I challenge everyone to visit the thread in question for further clarification on the GIGANTIC STRIDES by GEJ on roads with just one year in office.
Poster dedeike,
You should be ashamed of yourself and your linage, if your expression here is what you see. The road that crossed your father's constituency (Enugu-PortHarcourt Expressway) is invisible to you and You saw clearly the other 1000kms criss-crossing other constituencies in the country. You blindness is rather from inside which is a worse case for you. Time will certainly catch up with people like you...... When did idiots besiege nairaland? |

If brandishing impeachment threat would help the president sit up on implementation of the budget,so be it.i want the president to succeed and i also know that if the bugdet is implemented to at least 85% it'll mark a significant improvement in the welfare of Nigerians, given the fact that it is a well thought out budget. We all should have Nigeria's interest at heart above our political interests. Something else,Madam co ordinating minister should desist from playing with our intelligence by telling us the budget has been implemented up to 56%,if she's so sure of what she's saying she should outline areas of implementation. |

dedeike: Profile in excellence which haters and ignorance cannot wish away.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala The undisputable power-house in the Jonathan administration, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who doubles as the Coordinating Minister for Economy and Minister of Finance, no doubt, added credibility to the cabinet based on her formidable credentials locally and internationally.
A stickler for probity and excellence, Okonjo-Iweala’s persistent campaign for the effective management of the nation’s resources informed the government’s decision to adopt fiscal discipline, cut down on waste, and rein in debt and the budget deficit, especially in the 2012 budget.
This resulted in slight reduction of recurrent expenditure this year. Her target, however, is to cut recurrent spending to about 65 per cent of the total budget by 2015 so that more resources can be deployed on capital projects.
The minister, who narrowly lost her bid for the presidency of World Bank, has worked on rebuilding the nation’s decimated savings in the Excess Crude Account (ECA), which currently stands at $4.3 billion, and this is despite the monthly withdrawals by the three tiers of government. She has also been in negotiations with the 36 states of the federation to start up the Sovereign Wealth Fund as a replacement for the ECA.
Under her watch, the government established the Subsidy Re-investment Programme, through which savings accruing to the three tiers of government from the partial removal of the subsidy on petrol, can be deployed to projects. In her bid to keep the public informed on the savings, her ministry each month publishes the figures accruing to the federal, states and local governments under SURE-P.
The finance minister is carrying out bio metric evaluation of federal civil servants to reduce waste. The exercise is yoelding fruits as it uncovered the pension scam of over 32 billion. The scam involved Abubakar Kigo, a former perm sec at the office of the head of civil service of the federation and 5 others. There is the new integrated online payment system which helps the minister monitor transfer of public funds from CBN. This system also ensures that suspicious allocations in the budget are blocked. Corrupt minds are not happy with these stringent measures hence the outcry Simply faultless. |

dedeike: LET'S BE OBJECTIVE.
MR RENO OMOKRI UPDATED HIS FACEBOOK STATUS AS FOLLOWS:
“”Two things happened when man fell. 1-Man lost dominion over the earth. 2-Man sinned and was condemned to death. Therefore, for God to restore His purpose for mankind and the earth, He had to lift that death sentence on man’s head. Then after that, he had to restore dominion to man. This is what Jesus meant in John 10:10 when He said-the thief comes to steal (your dominion) kill ( death sentence for sin) and destroy (God’s purpose for man) but I come that they may have life (lifting the death sentence on man via His sacrificial death) and have it more abundantly (the abundant life that you have when your dominion is restored). But all these are promised to only those who believe in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. As we approach 2012, consider the words of Jesus In John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” There is no other way. So if you have not entered through the Jesus way, think deeply and make that decision to make Jesus your Saviour. If you believe, say “Jesus, I believe in you and your sacrificial death on the cross as well as your resurrection. Come into my heart, I confess you as my Lord and Saviour”. Now if you have done this, look for a bible believing church and start to study the bible. Don’t be ashamed. Remember Jesus said In Matthew 10:32-33 “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”"
A MAD MAN, WHO GLORIES IN THE NAME OLUGBENRO AND WORKS FOR HIS PAYMASTER, EL RUFAI COMMENTEC AS FOLLOWS:
1. N240b was budgeted in 2011 and N1.3t was spent on fuel subsidy. Who approved the extra N1 trillion and more? Extra budgetary spending? 2. Maximum of N300b was spent on fuel subsidy on annual basis up to 2010. Who were those that approved the papers for the payment of N1.3t in 2011? 3. We were told that selling fuel at N65 in Nigeria will keep encouraging smuggling to neighbouring countries where fuel sells for between N170 to N200 per litre. Will that stop if fuel is sold at N140 in Nigeria? Isn’t there enough incentive between selling at N140 and N200 or is there a plan to actually move the price to N200 (since we are the “giant of Africa”?) 4. What did we do with the billions of dollars saved from the World Bank and IMF’s debt forgiveness? The same minister is still in power. 5. We started privatisation since 26 years ago with the continued promise that recurrent expenditure would be reduced. But recurrent expenditure has increased from 50% to 73% as at 2011. How has our own privatisation resulted in building up of overheads? 6. Why can’t we make a scape goat of those who have enriched themselves and impoverished Nigerians through corruption in government? 7. “Nigeria is broke” as they want us to believe, but the President want 6 presidential jets in his fleet when the British PM flies BA. Who is fooling who? 8. How can the government continue to ask the already improvised Nigerians to keep making sacrifices for a “better tomorrow” when they live in opulence and luxury at the expense of our collective wealth? 9. What is difference between this government and previous administration that will make Nigerians believe their empty promises? 10. Do we need 42 ministers and the retinue of advisers, special advisers and senior special advisers that follows? 11. Do we really need a full-time national assembly? 12. Do we really need two different chambers of national assembly?”
Mr. Reno Omokri replied: “Yomi Olugbenro This space is entirely devoted to the projection of my personal beliefs in God through His Son Jesus. I maintain a political profile-facebook.com/buildupnigeria. Please direct political messages there. Thank you"
PLEASE I WANT SOMEBODY TO TELL ME HOW THIS AMOUNTS TO CONTEMPT ON A NIGERIAN CITIZEN

dedeike: These idiots led by Kobojunkie and Gbawe have no shame. If they had some sort of shame, they would have appeared on this forum to apologise to this enlightened audience and beg for forgiveness for lying blantantly against Jonathan. They would have been penitent and remorseful over the failed blackmail they launched against Jonathan, Diezani and AIG IMOUKHEDE .
It was in this forum that these shameless people said all sorts of rubbish about Jonathan's resolve to fight corruption. When he sought to close the window of corruption by removing subsidy. They cried foul and said that he lacked the balls to confront the cabal. When he set up a panel to investigate the oil cabal. They said it was bound to fail as GEJ never meant to see anything work. When AIG submitted his report, they came up with all manner of propaganda against Jonathan that he wanted to compromise the probe. They went the extra mile to label AIG a member of the cabal. When Jonathan set up a review committee to look into the report, they said it was another plot to delay justice and shield the cabal from prosecution. Some alleged that It was part of a plan to water down the report. When the report finally came out indicting more 45 names than FACROOK, they said there was nothing to celebrate until one person indicted is prosecuted. Now that the prosecution has started, the story has changed. Shamefully, they have gone to Sahara SHOPRITE of lies to concrort another defence for the accused person. My question to kobojunkie and others, who are now lawyers to the arraigned cabal is, What has GEJ's election got to do with criminal charges in court? How does the issue of sponsorship relate with the plea of guilty or not guilty to the age long looting of our oil in the guise of subsidy? Bros, I don tire for their fake rumors. Saharareporters are just so predictable. Fake people! |

Who are the rising superstars in the current political dispensation? We need to start identifying good candidates now and start getting their name out there.
I'll tell you one of my heroes is Gov. Fashola of Lagos state. I am not sure whether he is right to be our candidate or not, but I really like the way he thinks and articulates why we need good policies. Lagos is a state for all (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo) and Fashola is managing the state well.

chromoTop: guy use the correct name This creation of panic and seeming insecurity is a ploy by the few disgruntled elements from the North to distract the president from achieving his vision for the county in order to discredit him,the campaign promises he made are being worked on and it's there for all to see, instead critiscizing the cause of the insurgency some loud mouthed unpatrioitic folks are here calling the President names,it will be recalled that a prominent northerner threatened that they will make the country ungovernable for GEJ,is it now a coincidence that the boko haram insurgency is on the rise?Like Mr.President rightly pointed out u can only eat when u are alive, the insecurity situation has really diverted the attention of govt and no one would blame the President in toto cos he never envisaged it was going to be so,the increase in activities of boko haram is an aftermath of the election of GEJ after being hijacked by failed northern politicians, who feel that the presidency is their right. It will be very foolish of us to politisicise the president's complaint to members of his party's NEC on how much toll the terror attacks have taken on his govt it shouldn't be politisicised,we are all nigerians who should put state ahead of our personal and selfish interests,we shouldn't glory in acts of terrorism,in as much as the issues raised are on a rise we should try very much not to celebrate terrorists in any form cos that's their aim to distract the President and disrupt the Country's unity. The President has identified his major constraint to achieving his transformation agenda and we also want to believe and pray that he'll restrategise on how to tackle the menace, and let us not be deceived a very dangerous precedence is being set,if the sponsors of boko haram continue to frustrate the President needless say what will happen when a Northener becomes President,At least we wouldn't be in a hurry to forget what happened during the Niger Delta militancy activities. I would also like to advice the president to continue with his agenda though it will now be reduced definitely cos of the huge sum of money that is being spent on tackling insecurity which would have been used in addressing some of our most pressing problems ranging from infrastructural decay, lack of quality healthcare, absence of quality education, electricity problems and others. Please for the umpteenth time I crave ur indulgence to abstain from casting personal aspersions on the person of the President and also stop celebrating lunacy in the the guise of critiscizing Mr.President.Let's contribute constructively to nation building by critiscizing positively,we contribute to an already overheated polity with our careless and unguarded comments. |
