Christianity Etc › Re: Is Easter Celebration Biblical Or is it A Pagan way of Worship? by Ubenedictus(m): 4:58am On Mar 31, 2013
Freksy: Hmmm, you did not read through my comment? Your request shows you did not also read the cited scriptures on my first post that you earlier commented on. To show you really want us to discuss, can you please boldly make your stand clear on this: Did David follow the instruction given on how the ark should be transported when he did so using the wagon? My stand on it is, NO! What about yours?
i say show me where d bible say so! Very simple.

Moreover, it appears you have admitted Easter is not scriptural.
i also said microphone isn't scriptural neither is d bible and i still use both.

Not mentioned in scripture isn't equal against scripture.
I repeat paul said where there is no law there is no sin. Unless there is a law that says don't celebrate d resurrection then u have no point.

Christianity Etc › Re: Has Your Pastor Ever Preached From Songs Of Solomon? by Ubenedictus(m): 4:48am On Mar 31, 2013
Goshen360: New Living Translation (©2007)
The queen of Sheba will also stand up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, for she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon. Now someone greater than Solomon is here--but you refuse to listen. Matthew 12:42
d presence of christ doesnt mean we shouldn't read other parts of scripture.
@ Op yes, my pastor preaches for songs of songs, have u ever hear people call Jesus "rose of sharon"? Well they borrowed it from that book.
That part of scripture is usually interpreted with symbolism to mean christ and his bride the church (if you are prone to bad imagination then i'll advise you not to interprete anything there literally).
On the other hand "mystic" interprete that book as a reflection of their personal relation with christ, this is how i interprete it most times.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Is Easter Not Really Celebrated Like Christmas? by Ubenedictus(m): 4:40am On Mar 31, 2013
Simple answer: christmas has been commercialised, the stuff we call "celebrating christmas" today would have caused the earlier xtians to "fear, fear". We have turn it into a day for chicken, drinks and new clothes, d spiritual significance is almost forgotten!
On d otherhand easter's commercialisation is reduced. I think it is time we decide if we want to celebrate the birth of christ and/or resurrection or we are seeking an opportunity to over eat.
Christianity Etc › Re: 'Christians', Abraham Is Not Your Father! by Ubenedictus(m): 4:32am On Mar 31, 2013
Goshen360: New International Version (©2011)
And do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

◄ Matthew 3:9 ►

New International Version (©2011)
What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter?

New Living Translation (©2007)
Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God?

English Standard Version (©2001)
What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found?

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
◄ Romans 4:1 ►

New Living Translation (©2007)
Circumcision was a sign that Abraham already had faith and that God had already accepted him and declared him to be righteous--even before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the spiritual father of those who have faith but have not been circumcised. They are counted as righteous because of their faith.
◄ Romans 4:11 ►

We shall pick up from here! We must understand the perspective of 'fatherhood' to which Abraham belongs. I will build from those three scriptures that points the 'fatherhood' of Abraham. Abraham is a two-fold meaning man - a spiritual father of them that are of faith and a natural (according to the flesh) father of the Jewish nation.
now you are talking.

Bidam: So by your analogy Enoch died abi? What about Elijah? If you mean spiritual death Abel was righteous before he was killed by his brother.By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead. heb 11:4. also Men live up to a thousand years before they died as is the case with Methuselah. Can you explain that?
it seems christem didnt just jump galatians he also jump hebrew too. You claim abraham was governed by death yet he was reckoned righteous.

Willzkid: If you know this, then what is the essence of this thread?
why not open a thread to expound the fatherhood of Abraham from your own perspective?
why resort to sensationalism, and thereby negate a Bible truth?
This thread and its title smacks of conceit ..there are better ways of expressing knowledge
this is d exact thing that came to mind when i saw the thread "christians abraham is not your father", that is a negation of biblical truth. Whether abraham is father or not is not up for discussion dat matter is already certain, he is father of christians by his faith. The only part for discussion is about that already established fatherhood of abraham.
Christianity Etc › Re: 'Christians', Abraham Is Not Your Father! by Ubenedictus(m): 4:15am On Mar 31, 2013
frosbel: Father of faith , not Father in practice.

We have one Father and that is GOD.

"And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven." - Matthew 23:9
oh! I see you are argueing from the thread where u were rebuked for criticizing the title father and daddy for "pastors". Now i see where you are leading, after you deny that abraham is no longer our father in faith, d next thing you will deny is dat your biological father shuldnt b called father because of the above verse.

Keep ur personal interpretation to yourself.

This is an example of what i referred to in that ATMC's thread where she was asking about Eli Eli lama sabacthani
yeah, it seems they draged d arguement out of the tithe thread. I don't understand how their anti tithing doctrine has lead them to deny that abraham is our father in faith.

striktlymi: Good morning Christem,

As a member of the mystical body of Christ, I have to say that the way some of you pass of your private interpretations of sacred scriptures as truths is becoming very alarming.

If you as an individual want to go without having a Christian wedding, not pay tithe, decides that Abraham is not your father in faith, then I won't have an ish with it but to attempt to present these as something that should be applicable to every Christian is not appropriate.

I am a Christian, I am a Catholic Christian and I believe firmly that anyone who WANTS to, can pay tithe without feeling any obligation, I believe firmly that supporting the church with our time, talents and treasures is very important, I believe firmly that going to bless a union in Church is a very good practice and I believe firmly that Abraham is my father in faith.

#Its high time we taught love of God an neighbour and not some personal interpretation of sacred scriptures.

Thank you!
my dear i must agree with you here, it seems everyone is been forced to accept another's private interpretation. Abraham is my father in faith, the bible say so, the oral traditions say so, the church proclaims it and lastly and most importantly, I BELIEVE.

Christianity Etc › Re: Is Easter Celebration Biblical Or is it A Pagan way of Worship? by Ubenedictus(m): 6:20pm On Mar 30, 2013
Freksy: I mentioned two people - David and Uzzah. David overstepped the bound set for him regarding method of ark transport. Uzzah acted in "error", see 2sa. 6:7 - KJV. They both disobeyed, irrespective of the word we use. Disobedience is encompassing, i.e, is an all-embressing word. One can disobey by overstepping - by going beyond what is allowed.

Majorly, we learn through object lessons from bible stories, expressly stated laws and By bible principles. We can sin either by disobeying the laws or violating bible principles.
Using the microphone in worship is not a sin, but if a bible principle is violated regarding its use, it can be sinful.

See the following and tell if they are laws, if they are not, should we discard the message therein?
"But in vain they do worship me , teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" Matt. 15:9

"As I urged you when I was leaving for Macedonia, stay on in Ephesus to instruct certain people not to spread false teachings," 1Tim.1:3 NET

"If someone spreads false teachings and does not agree with sound words (that is, those of our Lord Jesus Christ)...he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in controversies and verbal disputes. 1Tim. 6:3 NET

"Prove all things ; hold fast that which is good" 1Thess. 5:21 - KJV. "But examine all things; hold fast to what is good". - NET.

"Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so". Acts 17:11 WEB

Sincerely examine Easter, with its associated rites as 1Thess 5:21 & Acts 17:11 encourage us to, and see if it would have Christ's and Paul's approval if presented to them. Recall that they both said when they are off the earthly scene, there will be infiltration of filth into the clear teachings of Christ. It matters to God greatly what we teach, believe and do. Why did Jesus never command his disciples to celebrate his resurrection but death? Could it be he forgot it. Ok, since he forgot, why did his early disciples not remember it each time they commemorated his death? could it be they too forgot it. Oh I see, our generation of worshipers are wiser and more spirit-directed...lol.

Ubenedictus and italo, have you for once examined Easter celebration to ascertain its root? If you have done so and your findings prove Easter celebration is not pagan-related, but God-commanded, hold fast to it with undisturbed conscience. - 1Thess 5:21 & Acts 17:11
to be sincere i didnt bother to read your long post past d 1st paragraph.
Just show me d part where d bible says in d ark part David sinned. If u can show dat passage then we can discuss.
I heard of Oshiomhole's strides in Edo State and when I was in Nigeria not too long ago, I went to that state to see for myself! It is not a fluke what you are seeing on the pics post by the op. Given the fact that Edo budget is 1/3rd that of Delta and much of the revenue to the state is from small business taxation which is very difficult to rain in, I give his government a thumbs up.

The Benin city water storm project, huge expansion of the central hospital, schools with floor tiles, proper toilets, very comfortable individual desk and chairs, water project in Edo central, dualization in Igarra, Auchi, and one rural road that cuts across 22, I mean 22 villages, just to say a few of the projects I saw with my eyes.

If anything, all the major roads that was being expanded which I saw have standard dividers, with greens, covered walkways, with standard road markings. Sapele road shown in one of the pics was constructed by Setraco and I tell you it is a 6-lane road of very high quality!

This is not to say they aren't areas the government need to improve upon, but whatI can say is where money has been spent, it is obvious to the sincere at heart that it has been good value for money spent. No doubt, if Edo continue to invest in infrastructure in this manner with proper maintenance, the state will become a choices destination for those running away from the dirtiness of onitsha, Asaba, Warri, etc.
just to add, in all my years of touring nigeria i have never seen a goverment secondary school of osho's standard.

8. The supreme judge of heaven and earth. 8. The judge of all, being judged by no one, God

22. "We confess that whatever new thing the
