Emmanystone: Shouldn't you drop scriptures to back up your claims? Its not celibacy, but celibacy of the priesthood. I'm celibate, am not a catholic. you never dropped source materials in making your own claims, why should I be held to a higher standard of proof than you? celibacy is allowed for all classes of Catholics both priest and none priests, marriage too is contracted by Catholics whether priests or none priests. but the beautiful thing is that the Bible teaches that the best state that can be chosen in serving God is the celibate state... celibacy is the better state if one wishes to serve God, it is a preferred state, that is biblical. 1 cor 7:32 I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to please the Lord; but the married man is anxious about the affairs of the world, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried woman and the virgin are anxious about the affairs of the Lord, so that they may be holy in body and spirit; but the married woman is anxious about the affairs of the world, how to please her husband. I say this for your own benefit, not to put any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and unhindered devotion to the Lord. the most beneficial state according to scripture is the unmarried state and it is cherished as such by the Catholic Church while we have married priests celibacy is still a preferred state in service of God. this is what Paul taught and the Early Christians immediately took up that teaching as their writing bear witness thus making celibacy a distinct Christian practice especially for priests and virgins. funny enough even though celibacy is a distinct Christian practice it actually has Jewish roots if you read up the early Church, continence and celibacy went hand in hand. |

brocab: In which way would you prefer is the best way I should be searching? I do see-and I can read what your Church claims you are taught-you claim you are bible teaching students, 9 inches claims the bible isn't enough to know Christ. So which is it? You could be one person out of the billions of Catholic's there is on this planet, that actually believes in Catholic teaching, you could be that only person who obeys their every command-and you could know the bible upside down, but the truth is-your belief's are not spirit filled teachings, just like 9 inches a born Church believer, he/she had never heard from God, and every time I have asked this same question, none of you-have heard a whisper of the Holy spirit that teaches us through the Word of God. You can only see me picking on your Church-but you can't see me, learning, since I have been around on this forum I have been learning about the differences we all have, and how, it is important to walk with God-know God, and why? So it isn't condemning it's a sole interest-to know how the bible describes the world and its end time prophesies, sadly to you, but in righteous, the New World Order Church is falling into place, just the way Christ had said it will happen. you are condemning from hearsay... you just go to your Protestant sites and copy whatever is there and imaging they are correct about Catholicism simply because they are Protestants. if you wish to condemn the Catholic Church as you have certainly been doing, then the least you can do is start to read up what Catholics believe. start here http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_INDEX.HTMStart from the beginning and condemn if you must. 9ince never said one can't know of Jesus through the Bible, instead he has taught you the biblical teaching that the fullness of the Christian revelation is found in the Bible and the apostolic tradition as it clear in 2 thess. lastly I happen to know a lot of Catholics who also believe rightly and practices rightly and I an convinced that 9ince is such. I too have heard from God's holy spirit, he has spoken to me through scripture, through the apostolic tradition, through the Church Jesus established, in my heart, in worship and through my daily circumstances. not just through the Bible alone. lastly you Protestant didn't begin eschatology, it has always been there. |

Celibacy in Priesthood is Hellenistic not Biblical. no sir, the priesthood the Church practices is Christian.. celibacy is itself a Christian thing even though it is also found among some jews,. |

Hiswordxray: Of course no, they are not heretic. But let not forget the fact that no man is perfect. no man is perfect but did the entire Christian Church immediately and in everywhere fall into heresy? did Jesus fail in his promise to be with his Church or did the Holy spirit fail. I can understand individuals failing, but to agree with the current Protestant teachings you have to believe the whole Church, everyone, for 1500 years were heretics. |
Christianity Etc › Re: What Made The Early Christians So Devoted? by Ubenedictus(m): 7:30am On Feb 16, 2018 |
Hiswordxray: Of course no, they are not heretic. But let not forget the fact that no man is perfect. The issue is not perfection, the issue is truth. the early Christians were those taught by the apostles and their closest disciples, they weren't insincere people but Christians in the truest sense of the word. They transmitted the Christian faith as clearly as they received it and they (many times unanimously) teach the truth as clearly as they had received it.... I think it is a pity that the modern day Protestant thinks that faith which the early Christians bear witness to as apostolic and which was believed everywhere is now considered heresy in Protestantism. if for 1500years the entire Christian Church was all wrong, then it makes me wonder if the Protestant believe that the holy spirit started working in the 16th century. if the Spirit has always been at work in the Church then, it is the modern Protestant who has perverted the word of God with his own personal interpretation. |

brocab: Uben you may not see me learning about the Catholic Church-but the truth is, I am learning about the Church, maybe it isn't the way you expected me to learn-but I am learning.. Uben the net is full of stuff-you may not like what people are saying about your Church-but it's the Church people don't agree upon, they say things about my Church too, Uben it's not the Church building I am concerned about. it's the idolatry in the teaching-and why teach against Christ-when the Church is Christ, not the building, not the people first, but Christ first. Sometimes we all have that habit, bringing something, other then Christ to the altar, something that we feel is more important to us-but we brought nothing into this world-and surely we won't be taken it out, after we die. It's Idolatry: against Christ-Paul describes the origin of idolatry in {Romans 1:21-25} So don't walk away feeling like someone had ripped your heart out, we cant expect people to agree with any Church-I don't look at this, as an insult, I see an awakening on both sides of the fence-either on the inside or on the outside-you can't expect everybody to bow down to Catholicism-this isn't about which Church building stood up the longest, Christ is the head of the body-and the body is the people, without the people there's nothing to be pride off. Heaven and Earth will pass away, but His Word will always stay. you claim to be learning, but of course your sole interest is to find a way to condemn. you'll only look for whatever confirms your bias. |

Go and find out about your church first before coming online and condemning others because they are not catholic. Am I surprise? No! Why? So it happens when people have contrary view on the catholic church in time past they have to be killed and burnt. Yes killed. Go find out what the church did to Jan Hus a Czech priest, go find out what they did to Tyndale. The horror the church committed in the days of the catholic inquisition. The number of matyrs the church killed. Martin Luther escaped it after many attempts attempts (thanks to then king of Germany who gave him protection) go and read and know the history of your church first. Tyndale was killed by Protestants under Henry viii, Jan Hus was condemned for heresy by the Catholic Church but was delivered to the state, the state sentenced him and executed him according to the law. what are you crying about? |

The Catholic Church is the Whoree of Babylon mentioned in the Book of Revelation and it is a pity that the traditions of the evil Catholic Church is what is called Christianity today. Your Church has turned the Bible on its head and sadly the rest of the Christian world follows sheepishly. and yet you go about preaching Calvinism |
