TheEnforcer: Well him filing for you means you have immigrant interest and that violates visitors visa rule .I doubt you ll ever get it.you may have to wait until your filing becomes current. THEY don't normally give people like that. You ll still get the same answer. They ll ask you to wait No harm in trying although they likelihood of getting reduces when you have indicated immigration interest but not impossible. I have a pending immigration case but got multiple b1/b2 while waiting. I’m in the USA on a work visa and still waiting for my immigration case so nothing is impossible |

987Real: After I returned from vacation in the U.S I got an email that my visa was revoked while I was in Nigeria chilling.
I am male so no pregnancy LOL.
At this point I don’t even care about America. I have seen all I have always wanted to see.
I have seen the wealthy big cities, the rural country side, the slums, the homelessness, poverty, racism, racial segregation within the cities, gang infested neighborhoods, crime and gun violence.
After my visa was revoked, I went ahead to spend Christmas in England and other European countries. Make them chop their visa.
Wow, so strange! Glad you are moving on with your life |

987Real: I am facing the same issue. My visa was revoked too.
I did all I could to find the reason why the visa was revoked but nothing was ever revealed to me.
I did it all. I wrote the U.S consulate in Lagos but no meaningful information was given.
I proceeded to request for my record from the United States Department of State headquarters in Washington D.C and all they sent me was my DS160 information without any meaningful information.
It was at this moment I knew the U.S system is corrupt and their aim was to confuse visa applicants to waste time and to keep wasting more money reapplying for a visa they have no intention of issuing.
How was it revoked? Was it at Poe? We’re you alone? Pregnant etc |

Maxchu: Hello, I want to ask a question ,A friend is in the US Presently ,He Traveled with Tourist Visa He has Spents 3 Months Now .
He Met a Nigerian Lady who is a Citizen in a Mall ,He heard the Woman Speaks her Dialects,he Greeted her ,Well they became friends ,Visits ,they became intimate Friends Etc Started . According to what He Told me ,I have chatted live with both of them via Videos and Phone .He told me She is one of the first set of Nigerians that Won Visa Lottery when it was Sooo New Many Years ago .
The Woman is a single mother of one ,Lives alone .
The Relationship is getting so deep that they are planning to marry each other .
His Tourist Visa Would Expire in 3 months time, I'm Advising him not to Overstay his Tourist Visa .I also advised that He could get Married to her ,Obtain Marriage Certificate then get back to Nigeria then she can File for him ,Spouse Visa ....
I have not Traveled before to USA ,I only read about Travelling Experiences ..Please Folks that have Experience ...I need your Input on this ..
He is a very Nice Fellow ,I have heard that Overstaying after Visa Expiration can be So Bad ..
Waiting for your Advise . It's Urgent..Thanks . You, him whoever is the true person in this situation should seek legal advise from an immigration lawyer. Him being a nice fellow is irrelevant to the case completely. If he’s sure they are getting married he can adjust status over there in the USA even though his visa has expired but if he overstays and they don’t get married he’s screwed. 4 Likes |

First off, a big thank you to everyone who shared useful information on this thread concerning IW. I have been a silent reader for quite a while and here's my own account of the process:
Submitted on the 23rd of March at 6:30am
Application Received on the 23rd. Case last updated on the 30th.
Administrative Processing on 4th April
Issued on 5th April
Received collection text and email on the 6th
Picked up today at DHL office at 10am.
Lessons learnt: If you're not in immediate danger of falling out of qualification for the IW, patience is the watch word. With some patience, you don't need to join a Telegram or WhatsApp group to get a drop off date. Visiting this thread frequently will help you scale that hurdle.
Once you submit your documents for processing, again, more patience will save you a lot of nail biting. Just let the process run its course.
Thanks again to all the helpful folks on this thread and good luck to the rest of the fellows on the visa trail. What time of the day is the best time to check for IW |

Not to worry, I am not doing what he asked, but I just pointed out a possible fraud from where we thought it's impossible.
Moreover, he told me payment is after I get the Visa. Lol of course he said all those things to make you feel comfortable and at ease. You don’t know the cankerworms of blackmail and deceit that’s down the road. If he tells you to bring your passport that the visa is ready, then holds on to it and blackmails you then what next? Or if he shows you a fake visa and tells you to pay before he releases it then what next? I don’t think there’s any fraud with the USA embassy. Yes staff over there do racket with dates and that’s public knowledge. Anyone that thinks otherwise can be the Guinea pig and update us I think 3 Likes |

Lordkross: So guys here's the kicker. A guy tailed me from the Embassy to my office (about 7 mins walk from the Embassy).
Note that when leaving the Embassy I told them I was successful, just to not make anybody feel uneasy with their interview, after all we all may never see each other again.
Just as I was about to enter my office premises the guy met me and greeted me.
"Good morning sir" I noticed your application was denied, we can help you reverse it."
I was shocked so I asked a few questions - to sum the whole story he told me I needed to pay another MRV and update my profile and leave the rest for them.
He also guaranteed me that I didn't need to pay any money until the Visa is out in 5 - 10 days.
Points to Note: I think the Embassy is deliberately denying qualified applicants Visas, after which they'll send some of their emissaries to try to convince you about the possibility of reversing their own decision(s).
The guy told me to pay for the new MRV and 1M to the consular and then 100k to him for his trouble.
There are other things I can't state here though because I don't know who is who, but today, I see clearly why people tell lies when they're going for any class of Visa - when does telling the truth ever helps anybody?
Ask yourself how a whole American Embassy go come out to admit that their interview systems had been hijacked by Visa Agents.
Omo, everybody dey corrupt for this country sha! SCAM!!!! Better don’t fall for it. The guy will just chop your money and disappear. How will you verify the 1m is going to the embassy. They probably have a clone account that reads similar. Run and block the guy… Gather your documents properly, get enough travel history and reapply. Millions have gotten visa the right way, myself included 11 Likes |

Planner99: Hello guys,
I need your input on this. I'm sorry, it's going to be a long one, kindly bear with me:
I'm waiting to be DQ, under F2B PD March 2016 (visa bulletin is in Sept 2015)
I've always planned to do a masters in my field as soon as I immigrated but since the pandemic struck and everything slowed down, I feel like I should no longer just sit and wait for my green card. I have gotten an admission into a US graduate school of my top choice (still looking for funding) and plan to apply for a student visa. My plan is to come back to Nigeria for my immigrant visa interview when it reaches my turn and I get an interview letter, I do not mind that at all. I'm hoping that will happen before my 2-year MSc is over. I want to get a masters in US specifically because that is where I plan to settle and a US degree will help secure jobs better and faster than degrees from another country
I just don't want to keep my career stagnant because of an unfortunate pandemic as I'm in the best phase to take this step.
I will like to add that I have previously gotten a B1/B2 visitors visa which I used once all while waiting for the immigrant visa. I had thought then too that they wouldn't grant the visitors visa because of my pending immigration stuff but they did. The visa officer just made sure to remind me not to mess up or overstay because that will negatively affect my immigration case.
Also, I am contemplating applying for a renewal of my visitors visa before applying for the student visa since I qualify for their new 'no interview, drop box' renewal. This is because regardless of whether my student visa is approved or not, I will like to visit my family freely without breaking their rules.
My questions are: 1. What do you guys think my chances of getting the student visa approved are? 2. Should I bother with the renewal of visit visa? 3. If my visit visa is approved and my student visa is refused after, will they cancel my visit visa that was approved? 4. If my visit visa is refused, will that negatively affect my chances of getting the student visa in a few months after?
Thank you.
Your plan is solid. I don’t see why your visiting visa should be refused. More so you did not overstay plus you are going for Dropbox. For your masters go through the us student visa page and make sure you dot your is and cross your ts. |

If you are working and earning a good income in Nigeria. Stay back, give it one more year! Use this year to prepare for gmat, write your essays and apply for your mba here in the USA and hold your admission. Aim for a part or full scholarship.
Also save aggressively. scale down and save as much as you can for a softer landing
It will be much easier to get a job with their education here than with the uk. Not impossible, but easier. Plus the network you will make in school will be invaluable to you. |

Thank you Uche for your consistent assistance here, I really appreciate. Please do you think there is any chance of interview this year for PD July 2007 and QD Dec. 2020?? I am so on a cross road!
I have admission to go and study MBA in the Uk this June, I started making the arrangements when I saw nothing was moving at the US embassy. Now am confused if am to continue waiting on NVC for my turn, since some people upto DQ Feb. 2020 got IV for interview recently.
Or I should go ahead with my study, maybe whenever i get the interview IV, I will come back for it??
Please all the experienced hands in the house, I need all your candid advise now.
Thank you Honestly I have no ideas. I’m April 2007 and dq in February 2020 and I’m not current yet! If anyone told me it will take this long, I will say impossible! Although I currently live in the USA on a work visa. Someone said there’s a chance of a retrogression in June. Who knows? So don’t put your life on hold, live it now and to the fullest. That said for an mba, it’s better to wait and do it here, it will be a leg into the job market for you I think. Although my mba from the uk got me a very good job here I think there was an element of luck in it so who knows? Seek guidance from God and follow your heart 2 Likes |

Jasmine90216: Thank you for your reply but please take it easy on the judgement. It was purely ignorance. And the part about desperation, it's not what you think. I wanted to attend an important family function and they all agreed that I should try to apply for a visiting visa since its not a law that if your filing case is under process you can't apply for a visiting visa. So that's it. Anyways all the same I appreciate your feed back. May lines fall into places for everyone seeking live changing opportunities.
There’s nothing wrong in applying for visiting visa while waiting for your immigration case. We got and renewed multiple b1/b2 and now we are living in the USA on an L1 visa while waiting for our f4 immigrant visa to be current. The key is to always remain honest and consistent. If you are asked during the interview about the discrepancy, be honest and hope for the best! 3 Likes |

NVC DQued you when your case was current, then retrogression of VB happened.
The embassy won't give invitation letter until your case is current again. But note that as you become current again, so also are thousands of others who DQed earlier than you. They will be interviewed before you.
Right now every applicant is experiencing 3 types of backlogs; first the general backlog affecting the entire world, then the general backlog in the Lagos embassy, and finally the backlog of those in same visa category with you who got DQued before you.
Your DQ date is ur priority date for interview letter. Nope we weren’t current before we dq.. close vefore the retrogression but we were not there yet But I agree with the 3 types of backlog.. It’s aight. We are already in the USA anyways...whenever they are ready is fine |
