nikkygal: I don't know why the mods put this thread on front page.... It has gone to the dogs...geez! Hopefully, it will move into the next page quickly and we can have some sanity here and resume mature discussions. Nikky, I have emailed the dr. below is his pricing: Our fee is $2500 for a vaginal delivery, $3000 for a C Section. There is an additional $500 fee for those with high risk pregnancies. The hospital fee is $3500 - $5000 depending on what you required and how early you register. The anesthesia fee if needed is about $1500. in comparism with dr la/ WHMC Physician cost is cheaper @WHMC as it is $2,500 constant, regardless of cs or high risk WHMC is cheaper as hospital is $2,500 - $4,000 for vag or cs Anesthesia @WHMC is cheaper at $1,200 too WHMC is winning for me jare |

toslad: Tnx house for the invaluable infor. Got into d USA thru united on Wednesday after our Tuesday flight was rescheduled. Hubby and son were stamped in but I was detained for close to 2hrs. Hmm...., did you lie that you weren't pregnant? The way i see it, they were undecided whether you were or not so they gave you the exact duration you required instead of turning you back Anyways you have two options...cuz i think i read on this thread that you need at least a month's worth of stamp to get an extension. 1. Overstay and give birth...however, you may never enter the us again anytime soon as they will likely refuse your next application 2. Count your loss and come back to naij |

@nikkygal..amen, .thanks a lot. I am leaning towards WHMC because i have been unable to get a proper breakdown for methodist What dr did you use? Im leaning towards dr la because of the people on this thread and have set up an appointment. My sis in law is recommending dr. Korhonen because my other sister inlaw used him 7 years ago...i am wary though because his online recommendations ain't great because of his age and how he is always tired, leans towards CS, etc She also recommended dr Rizk because her friend also used him but i haven't called yet sha Also do you know if physician fee differ from doctor to doctor in the same hospital |

Violence is never NECCESSARY in any situation... If my husband should raise his hands at my sister, its disrespectful to me, and my parents not just my sister REGARDLESS of the provocation Worse case he says to me we should pack our bags and go and we do but to get physical? Hmm...that kind of man will get physical with me too if he is angry @op...hope you and your mom has thrown them out? Let them go to their own house and fight box themselves to death there Mschewww. mokeju: We greeted the Officer ( a female) Do you know how your uncle immigrated? Was your pregnancy obvious? You said you were denied last year or so....did you declare it on the form? And on the why section...did you explain why you thought you were denied and what has changed in your circumstance since the last denial? You and your husband should also try to visit some other countries together as a couple before applying Thats what i can deduce from your short transcript P.s i always fill all my visa application like i wont be given a chance to let it all out at an interview and it has always worked for me.... |

@omofred...praiiise the lord...that is indeed divine favor! Have a safe delivery dearie @davidango...read the thread from the first page or go to the usa tourist visa page to get more insights @classichique...yes to all your questions...if you have more than 10k you will be asked aside to declare and maybe questioned...with big belle you dont want anything to draw attention to yourself....mastercard and visacard will work well and most hopsitals and shops if not all will have a pos machine....gd luck |

@emispackage ..thank God for safe entry @ kenkelewu...na wa @ 29wks all that stress? @ all a friend got in through houston this morning.....she flew united @32 weeks and her pregnancy was not detected at POE. She was asked what she was there for and she said vacation and they stamped her in for 6 months. I will get more details when she is settled Another option for houston people is to ditch united and fly delta....come in through atlanta then take a connecting flight to houston |
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by uchetobi(f): 6:11am On Oct 27, 2013 |
@emispackage thank God for safe entry! I am surprised they gave you hassles at all because you have already declared your intentions truthfully from the embassy in naija.... Anyways, Houston has become really hot Safe delivery and pls keep me posted about your hospital cost as i am going to houston too |

kenkelewu: They will always ask you why you are here! Its standard! But if they dont ask you 'maam are you pregnant' or 'are you here to have a baby'. I dont know if its necessary to declare yourself cuz it can go any way. If they ask of course dont lie but if the dont #kanyeshrug I know someone that got her visa 11 months before she got pregnant...she was turned back at atlanta and she had 15k dolls on her and her dr's appointment and acceptance letter She matched straight to customs and said she is here to have her baby...they sent her back on the evening flight. Personally i feel as long as you pay your bills renewal is not a problem esp with this new dropbox system so renewal should be secondary to your momentarily plans Anyways pray and follow your heart. Goodluck |

Harjeehbaday: If you write to the embassy no one will respond to you. You can try but its futile So go early and disguise if you can..redo your make up before you head to customs, walk smartly, wear loose clothing and carry a big bag to cover your side....if you can go with your husband...better so he answers the questions while somewhat shielding you. from what iv read dont declare more than 10k so they dont stop you aside for unnecessary questioning or draw undue attention to yourself And have a plan b: which is communication and acceptance from a dr just incase your disguise fails and you are asked so you dont lie. Also have enough money for this plan b (less than 10k and a credit or debit card for the balance) |

Family / Re: Can You Entertain A Guest With Its Food? by uchetobi(f): 8:35pm On Oct 24, 2013 |
My husband usually entertains his friends himself.....with shayo and snacks such as groundnuts, chin chin, etc most times....it will be so wierd for him to call me to come and entertain them! Is it me they came to visit and i do same with my own friends with alcohol or soft drinks or malt and snacks. I very rarely offer any friend food...except they meet us eating or they are sleeping or slept over. If i finish cooking and i know someone is coming to visit! I open the windows and spray air freshner...to avoid courting their taste buds or i serve them with chicken wings or something! But food! Rarely .. Family....especially inlaws now that is a different ball game! I cook specially for them and if they show up without warning for whatever reason...i enter the kitchen immediately they come to whip something up I think offering someone bread and stew is very distasteful....even more cringe worthy is offering someone the gifts they came with as refreshment except its general choppings like iv visited friends with pizza, suya and we all ate it together...i dint buy it for them but for us as a group 1 Like |
Family / Re: For Abused Wives, Girlfriends & Men!!! by uchetobi(f): 7:35pm On Oct 17, 2013 |
Icherishu: I don't even know how to direct my cousin who is abuse to this thread with all the insults abs abuse going on hear. I really wish she can come in read this because I don't really know how to help her again. The hubby hit her again on Sunday, slapped her on both sides of her face. Now she can't face the sun and she can't bite anything with the jaw. I spoke with her this morning and she doesn't even want to discuss with the mum. She traveled for a program at home. Told her to use this opportunity to discuss with the mum, but she refuse saying the mum will start thinking. I don't know how to help her again. First, I counsel that since the man has a bad temper she should learn to ignore when he starts ranting but she wouldn't hear. To me if she response, the man will use the opportunity to say she is disrespectful and hit her. For now, she isn't working and I wouldn't know whether she likes being at home. Though she is learning a skill now after 7 years of being tormented in that marriage. I really feel for her because if I were to be in her shoes, I sure know I wouldn't be able to take that kind of abuse. pls she should stay of this thread! the advice you have given her is on point...since the man have anger issues and no self control...immediately he starts she needs to get herself out of the vicinity physically!!! this cannot be over emphasized before the man kils her She also needs to get a defense tool e.g. pepper spray or something to have handy!!! just in case it gets out of control and she cannot get herself physically out for any reason good for her that she is learning a skill, she and every woman needs to be able to fend for her/themselves...the less dependent you are on any human being especially financially the more equipped the person is to walk out of a bad situation Lastly, she needs to speak up, involve her parents or family and his as well.. the biggest mistake in an abusive situation is to keep quiet,...most abusers are banking on the fact that you are too ashamed to speak out...I perfectly understand not wanting to involve her mother because mothers tend to overworry a lot but she needs to believe that the last thing her mom wants to see is her dead body! pls her safety comes first p.s you never said if she has kids for this man 3 Likes |
