U r very gullible, u don't know anything aside blaming the government.........the major cause of low sales is smuggling in of fake sub standards products and inflation.....if the products is not essential dey just have to reduce the quantity of products dey produce and just find a way to stop increasing price, in production there's always production risk and sustainability, it's not everyday that u make big interest, there r times u run at lost just to stay in business.....everyday is not Christmas and dis applies to companies across d world during inflation.....it is better to reduce price and sell them out than pile them up for damage
Are you kidding me??

Reduce prices...how do you keep workers ??

Its very hard to let go of workers

What of when you produce goods that people can't do with out because people havr lost purchasing power.

Na items like bread have reduced orders people will prefer to use their little funds for very important commodities

The other day beer companies were lamenting because of losses

How do you reduce cost when your cost of production is high

You buy fuel
Your raw materials are Imported...

What do you do??

Mock him all you want but Tinubu government has done what governments in the past couldn't do.

He understands how to reform our economy by first removing fuel subsidy which is meant to inevitably cause temporary hardship.

He appointed an efficient Cardoso as CBN Governor who has so far identified the hidden catapult throwing stones at Naira, then naira devaluation (a policy which some people are using to cash out big time, and one which is meant to kill the hunger for dollars and importation.

Tinubu government decisions have been on point even though the results have not been duly communicated to an ordinary layman, and it's no surprise that people who are criticising him haven't come up with something he has done wrong, just insults and curses without substance.

Tinubu is on the right track, personally I never expected him to be prepared for the job because of his health but I am glad he won, and I'm sure by the time his policies start yielding results, we would want him forever.

Batified
This is not true...He made policies without thinking the aftermath..its more like trial and error

Wale Edun said if they inject a particular amount that naira will stabilize...nothing happened..

Cardoso had been changing clearing cost up and down ,implemented a whole lot of policy still nothing..

Bravery is celebrated when it produces result...But celebrating Tinubu for what's he has done is synonymous with some body that has lost touch with reality

Shuuu? If that's the reality majority of them won't be languishing in danfo as late as 12am and as early as 5am. You go think Lagos is El Dorado.

The average Lagosian has a very low short life expectancy compared to other residents in other states and we all know the reason. Lagos hustle and bustle is not the flex people think it is. It's a pathetic lifestyle.

If to say the majority of them dey always get tangible assets after the hustle, e go better. Many of them dem born Dem inside that hustle and na on top same hustle dem them grow old and die. Iranu.
Fact..

Most lagosians have what it's called essential high blood pressure

Please tell us the strategy he will adopt by removing subsidy in phases?
What was his scorecard in Anambra State when he was the governor?
Why did he allow health workers to down tool for almost a year without considering the attendant effect on the health sector?
Why did he invest state funds in a bank he has vested and controlling interest?
What critical infrastructure did Obi built that we can call a legacy project?
Was it true that Obi sacked civil servants that are not indigene of Anambra State?
Do you think Obi has the mental and political will to govern a a complex country as Nigeria without succumbing to the threat of Boko-haram, UGM, bandits etc
Do you see Obi surviving 1year as President without facing the threat of impeachment?
How did all of these affect Tinubu 's performance

Let's stop depending on government officials because even if they get the idea, they will not know how to implement it. They will only use it to go and curry favor and it ends there.
I read your proposal...its centered more on remote jobs.... Not everybody enjoys remote jobs..

Do you think remote jobs has the capacity to increase FX with a wide margin?

Also ,our population are not only youths although the highest. What do other people who are not youths do?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Yes, you're missing something out

He said he'd remove the subsidy but in phases.

He said that Nigeria pays more on unaccounted petroleum...He said he'd cut out excess first, and then the money from the excess would be used to drive investments in critical sectors before removing it entirely .

I watched the interview

Forget Obi and come to nairaland and bring suggestions that will bail Tinubu out...there are government officials here...they might see your post and push your idea...

PoliticsRe: Dangote Refinery Crude Import From US will Increase Prices Of Petroleum Products by Udoboss(m): 7:48pm On Feb 05, 2024
abhosts:
I remember warning Nigerians never to allow subsidy be removed but them no gree hear word. According to the zombie supporters of Obi, Tinubu and Atiku, the savings from subsidy would be used to transform Nigeria to Dubai. In furtherance of their hallucinations, they said dangote refinery would bring down cost of petrol because shipping expenses would be eradicated. What many ignorant Nigerians fail to realize is that subsidy is a far cheaper option based on our current economic reality. How do you know that? If the FG is to restore the standard of living for Nigerians to the level it was before removing subsidy, it would cost far more than has been saved from subsidy removal. Before subsidy removal 30,000 minimum wage was still a bit reasonable, but now anything below 80,000 minimum wage cannot be sufficient. Can subsidy savings be enough for FG to afford paying 80,000 minimum wage?

Only Sowore and the SDP presidential candidate were pro-subsidy and had a heart for the masses in the last presidential elections. The others were IMF puppets.

Now here is a major difference between White societies and primitive black monkeys. In white societies people like Sowore that were correct in their diagnosis of subsidy would win seats in parliament in next elections but blacks would still continue to support candidates that were wrong. They are unrepentant and stubbornly tribal even to their own detriment.
You're right oooo
But Sowore doesn't have national appeal....let him join forces with others

PoliticsRe: Again, CBN Raises Import Duty Rate By Another 4.4% In 24 Hours by Udoboss(m): 11:34pm On Feb 04, 2024
DeLaRue:
You think so, but that's not the reality.

There is a pain point at which demand for many imported goods will fall fast. People will simply start buying less and less of them. Whether that pain point is at N1500, N1800, or N2000 to a dollar, I don't know.

But the CBN will have the data. They know. If N1500 doesn't stiffle imports to the level they want, I suspect the CBN will not mind seeing naira close to N2,000 to a dollar.

In some ways, it is to the credit of Mr Tinubu's administration that it is willing to follow this extremely tough path to redirect the economy from import-dependence to greater local production. For a politician facing election in just over 3 years to follow a path that may not show positive results for a few years, is truly brave.

The Nigerian economy was heading for the rocks after over 40 years of mismanagement. Tough decisions are needed to correct long term over dependence on imports.

That naira/dollar pain point is the point at which local production of certain goods starts becoming more viable than importing the same goods. This should translate to us producing more of what we need locally. This will lead to more job creation, less pressure on the naira, and a stronger, more balanced economy in the long term.

But this approach comes with a lot of economic pain initially, as the country is witnessing now.

That's the theory o.

Whether things happen in practice like I stated above is a different matter, because Nigeria's situation often defy economic theory.
Do we have all the raw materials to produce....For example Dangote is importing fuel to refine .A lot of local producers do same how will they survive??
The price will still increase

I concluded it can’t be bomb cause bomb don’t affect large areas like that. Bomb effect is usually concentrated. But if it is a chain reaction from several explosive, then it is plausible.
Alright....the chain reaction is why ruled out gas..

No terrorist will plant bomb in a residential area. The market is not far away.

I do ply Sango to UI road almost everyday. Not quite long ago, when this particular site was getting developed for a gas station, the residents rose up and challenged the government on how unsafe it is to site a gas station around residential buildings. They even went as far as making noise on radio stations but it all fell on deaf ears.

During the construction of the gas station, I normally sight minimum of three policemen stationed to prevent m protest and avoid break down of law and order. I felt like the government cheated the people living around this gas station by not listening to their cries. If the news is true, who will bear the brunt most, if not landlords around this place. What they feared most has finally come to pass.
Did you read that the post?

Rock blasting at night and close to residential areas ?

Not buying this.

It's not also an earthquake as earthquakes are not explosive in nature .

I am not buying the gas explosion as well as the pressure shock wave was felt far and wide.

I would have said a probable meteorite strike but I am ruling that out as well because a meteorite strike would have been visible in the sky before impact.

This is looking more like an explosion resulting from an explosive device
