Rugaria: The police failed this society in so many ways! They re paid to secure lives and property and not to start check points to collect toles. In moments like this, the police should never have collapsed totally! The disappearance of the police was deliberate and should be investigated. It was as if the police wanted to use such actions to teach the people some rare lessons forgetting that not everyone was even in support of the mass actions! This should be investigated!
We have seen many countries that witnessed such uprisings, the police did their job, arresting hoodlums while protecting both properties and civil protesters. But here, it seems like protests have been criminalized. Once you say no and match, you become the new enemy of the state... If the policeman can not stand firm and enforce the law during jumpy periods, such characters should not be in the police force! The Nigerian Police Force failed woefully yet again.. period! Same poorly paid police you guys have been killing and burning their police stations during the protests? |

NwaNimo1: Goods can be replaced............lives cannot! Please don't say this. I have a neighbour whose live savings was put into her shop in the Lekki mall that was looted. She lost everything. She now has to start from square one and mind you she might not get back to the level she was before. So your goods can be replaced statement has some holes in it. Looting of private investments is a huge no no. And I support the police shooting looters. |

Brandonx: We live in a country where the poor sees the rich and they are reminded of their failure and would look a for a way to either defraud that rich person or bring them down. Exactly. We live in a country where if you are lucky to attain some amount of success in life like having a good job, house, cars et al you automatically attract hatred from people for no just reason. |

SLOVFO: What is the security situation in your area today? My side of Aba is calm and uneasy. I was lucky to fly into Uyo same day the Lagos curfew was to start at 9am. Uyo has been peaceful apart from yesterday when there were some protests and it turned violent at some point. Because of this the governor announced a curfew that commenced last night 9pm Thursday the 22nd and should end tomorrow morning Saturday the 24th at 7am all being well. I suspect they might extend the curfew further should the violence or youth restiveness persist. |

There is no single looting going on, the citizens are liberating the palliatives to share to the hungry and vulnerable. Sarcasm at it's best |

You can actually see the remorse in this man. I believe he is a man with good intentions but whose decisions and actions are controlled by sinister forces that sponsored him into power.
In the last 3 days the man I saw on TV looks sick and defeated. This is what happens when you are trying to satisfy 2 factions at the same time, namely: the citizens that elected you in and whose interests should be your number one priority and then an evil dark Lord that sponsored you into power. |

Omoluabi16: For now, It is the right call. I feel sad, mentally drained. Seeing severed head of police officers, dead youths everywhere, the wanton destruction and the certain job loss. I wake up everyday and ask myself, was it worth it?? Let me tell you the sad truth: it was worth it. In any revolt there must be casualties. It's a necessary evil. It always has to get ugly before it ever gets good. You asked for change, well this was the only way to get the stubborn government to listen. They have felt the anger of the youths and they are scared. |

engrchykae: prisoners effect brutal revolution. It was the case in french revolution when they stormed the Bastille and released all prisoners, together they marched in Versailles,it marked the end of the louises. Reset button will be pressed,a new nation or nations will emerge. Wow. Read about the French and Spanish revolutions and how bloody those were, but they brought about the change they needed. Hmmmmmmmmm. Nigeria needs change fast but are we ready for a bloody revolution for this change to happen? |

I am not in support of violence but for this present action I think it's okay the people took what's rightfully theirs.
Why are Nigerians so greedy and evil that they divert palliatives to personal use. I still remember how people suffered during the lockdown and most of us had to help out. Meanwhile these palliatives were stolen by these bastards. They should fish the people that kept these items in those warehouses out and shoot them. Simple. |

Kuginzi: This protest will not be justifiable unless and until all Eastern states destroys their various states' properties the same way they destroyed Lagos state properties. Please try reading what you just posted and see if it makes sense. So you are insinuating that the igbos were majority in the thugs and hoodlums that destroyed Lagos properties. Why do we think like this? |
